What: The Cultural Fair
When: June 5th- 12th - admittedly dates are sort of nebulous - set up could have begun as early as the 5th, but given the event recently, more days could have been taken to do it and for people to involve themselves, so it probably "officially" starts a little later (by the 8th at the very least, though work can go on throughout it) - feel free to use your judgement/have fun!

Notes: Booths can be labeled as separate comments! Just put [booth name] or something in the subject line so people can find top level comments easier.

Work probably started for it on the 5th-7/8th for labor purposes, though feel free to use dates to your advantage here! (Even if characters slapdash something at the last minute, it would be fun to see! It would even be encouraged after the crazy from the last event - kind of a way to get back in touch with themselves.)

CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME TO TAG THE LOG FOR INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, NOT JUST BOOTHS, SO FEEL FREE TO TAG IN! Also a character who might not know what's going on is welcome to walk by and question it! And so forth. (Helios and Ikki made posts in regard to it and there have been art club posters around, so anyone could have noticed those as well!)

I'll leave descriptions up to you all as there isn't much that is too uniform about the displays, as everyone is encouraged to be creative about their presentations and how hard the characters worked isn't something I could define for each of you. Just keep in mind that this takes place in the plaza, there shouldn't be an issue with blocking traffic (there may be ropes up to try and keep pathways clear, however!), though it may branch around various points of the square depending on where someone wants a booth located / the number of actual participants. The square will also have a lot of brightly colored signs and decorations indicating what is going on!

[The fun part about the fair is watching people scope an area out for themselves and watching their worlds spring to life. Metaphorically, anyway.

Sometimes when she wanders by the area is empty, but eventually she is lucky enough to walk past it once more when the wind spirit is again adjusting the shells.]

Good afternoon. I've been meaning to catch you.

[Eley is a little surprised to hear an unfamiliar voice this time and turns to see who is speaking, standing as he leaves the shells be for now.]

Ah, hello. Is there a problem?

[He had just set up something out of the blue after all. Perhaps there was some kind of process he was supposed to go through before doing so.]

Hm? No, not at all. I wanted to thank you for coming. [And while they've both been in the village long enough to at least see one another in passing from time to time, in some fashion-] I don't believe we've been introduced before.

[winds_voice]

You are one of the... organisers then? It is an interesting event. I have enjoyed seeing things from other worlds... worlds I did not know existed. I hope that I will be able to offer more should it be arranged again.

[She's right though, they haven't really spoken to each other before. Now seemed as good a time as any he supposed.]

I am Eleytheria. Though some have taken to calling me 'Eley' if that is too difficult for you.

My name is Raine Sage. Do you prefer to be called Eleytheria?

[It is a mouthful, but she's a historian, so long names don't faze her. Sometimes she prefers them.] And yes, you can say that I am. We have a world sharing class at the school, but this just seems like a better way to get the rest of the village to see and participate for themselves. We ran a fair last year as well.

[winds_voice]

Raine. [He gives a nod, acknowledging the name.] I... would perhaps prefer it until we get to know each other more. However, I will not stop you from using the shorter name if you wish.

[Not that he senses anything malicious from her. In fact, he is rather pleased that she asked and gave him the option. Any sign of respect was enough to stay on his good side.]

A world sharing class? [That sounded like something he wouldn't mind looking into. He was always trying to learn more after all.] It is not the first time I have heard mention of the school. Could you tell me more about what you do there? How it operates?

Let's see... for the basic classes themselves, there is a large difference in the levels that students are familiar with, given the various worlds they come from. For those classes we have a lesson for the entire group for the first part of the class, then we move onto individual studies to either try and give more advanced students a challenge, and opportunities for those a little further behind to catch up.

The other classes are optional and open to anyone - like art, music, magic, and of course, world sharing. The World Sharing class in particular is where the inspiration for this fair came from. Those who participate in the class are encouraged to talk about their own, or ask questions about other worlds, and so forth. Personally I think we all have a lot that we can learn from one another.

[The Spirit listens intently to the explanation. While he already seems to have a strong drive to learn, this World Sharing class does seem to be holding his interest. He had already learned from others during the Fair, so to have the opportunity to learn more elsewhere seemed like a great thing to pursue.

...not to mention he already had somewhat of an interest in music and more recently magic.]

I agree. I have already learned a great deal from others, whether about human rituals and emotions, war, or simply the flora and fauna of their planet. I would... be interested in continuing this process, if I am able.

I also have an instrument I am trying to learn. Perhaps I could master it with help from your teachers.

You're certainly welcome to join us. Having a new voice to make inquiries often helps spice things up. The classes you're interested in take place after noon, with music being held on tuesdays and thursdays, though those not attending art can request private instruction from the teachers on the other days as well.
