What: The Cultural Fair
When: June 5th- 12th - admittedly dates are sort of nebulous - set up could have begun as early as the 5th, but given the event recently, more days could have been taken to do it and for people to involve themselves, so it probably "officially" starts a little later (by the 8th at the very least, though work can go on throughout it) - feel free to use your judgement/have fun!

Notes: Booths can be labeled as separate comments! Just put [booth name] or something in the subject line so people can find top level comments easier.

Work probably started for it on the 5th-7/8th for labor purposes, though feel free to use dates to your advantage here! (Even if characters slapdash something at the last minute, it would be fun to see! It would even be encouraged after the crazy from the last event - kind of a way to get back in touch with themselves.)

CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME TO TAG THE LOG FOR INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, NOT JUST BOOTHS, SO FEEL FREE TO TAG IN! Also a character who might not know what's going on is welcome to walk by and question it! And so forth. (Helios and Ikki made posts in regard to it and there have been art club posters around, so anyone could have noticed those as well!)

I'll leave descriptions up to you all as there isn't much that is too uniform about the displays, as everyone is encouraged to be creative about their presentations and how hard the characters worked isn't something I could define for each of you. Just keep in mind that this takes place in the plaza, there shouldn't be an issue with blocking traffic (there may be ropes up to try and keep pathways clear, however!), though it may branch around various points of the square depending on where someone wants a booth located / the number of actual participants. The square will also have a lot of brightly colored signs and decorations indicating what is going on!

"Remove your coat..."

"No. Why? Why remove my coat?!"

"Because I don't have the patience to wait for the haystack."

Lies. She was gonna do a runner with that coat, and she held out an expectant hand.

"You want to have your way with me here? Right here?! Annie! This is culture!"

omg this tag nearly had a terrible autocorrect incident. i never would have lived it down

"Strip! I don't have all day..."

Mostly, she was shocked that this might actually work...so here she was, waiting for his pennies to drop.

"Right."

And he began undoing his trousers.

[herotypical]

"...Start with the coat," she warned -- before this went too far and she felt like a villain. All for doing what he'd tried to teach her how to do, eons ago.

"But I thought you were in a rush, darling!" came the innocent reply as Jack continued unbuckling.

[herotypical]

"I'm in a rush for you to start with the coat," she countered -- a little lamely. At least, until: "Just pretend it's my birthday again and that song is playing..."

Jack started humming.

Oh. Yes. The SONG.

"I must've died and gone to heaven," he began crooning, leaving off the pants-undoing and throwing in a few hip gyrations.

And here stood the paragon of non-romance, with her arms crossed and her head cocked and her gaze hooked expectantly on his outerwear -- half-undone trousers be damned.

"Heaven doesn't have strip clubs," she said. "At least, none that I remember."

"'Cause it were quarter past eleven on a Saturday in 1999," he continued to croon. First one hip, then the other, switched upward. The trousers began to ride lower on those hips as a sly smile more than took over Jack's face.

It was fun to torment her sometimes. All done out of love, of course.

Oh, piffle. He was calling her bluff -- and being rather theatrical about it, too. Buffy gently nudged aside the old crate, hearing the shells rattle. And with that, there were no obstacles between her and the pirate.

"I'll give you until the count of...hmm, six," she threatened -- but remained tight-lipped as to the nature of what was exactly being threatened.

"Six. And then--?" Because Jack always liked to know which consequences he was flaunting.

[herotypical]

She took a moment to run through her options -- making a show of glancing off into the distance, considering each and every potential punishment.

"And then, I think, I decide I liked you better all nerd-styled. So I take you down and slice off each dread. Starting with that one--" she said, pointing. It was the bluffest bluff that any Buff ever did bluff, of course. But she'd long ago found that with Jack Sparrow, bluffing could be half the fun.

"Bollocks! I know for a fact, darling, that you wish you could twine yourself in my stylish locks. And wear nothing. Else."

[herotypical]

"A fact, huh? Sounds more like fiction. Everyone knows I don't wear fur."

[all7seas]

"Because you're not cruel."


D'awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

[herotypical]

"Mmhm. I'm not." Her expression set just a little firmer, as though she had to work hard at not smiling. Usually it was the other way around. "So how about you hand over the jacket before I reverse that decision, huh?"

[all7seas]

"What will you give me for it? Your shirt?" Because it had to be a trade, now, apparently.

[herotypical]

"Sure. That works," she chimed -- saying a silent prayer to the god of camisoles.

[all7seas]

"All the shirts?"

[herotypical]

"Nope. You said shirt -- singular. So a single shirt is what you'll get."

She dropped her own light jacket and bunched the hem of a peasant blouse up in her fists. "It's not my fault you're a terrible negotiator."

[all7seas]

"As a pirate, I reserve the right to back out on any and all agreements forthwith withal ergo sum."

[herotypical]

"And as the Slayer, I reserve the right to drop you on your ass right now and take what I want. Of course, you already know this. But don't think my deep and unwavering love for you will save you from my impressive wrath."

You know, this would have sounded a lot more threatening if she wasn't fighting her way out of a shirt. Or smirking the whole time.
