What: The Cultural Fair
When: June 5th- 12th - admittedly dates are sort of nebulous - set up could have begun as early as the 5th, but given the event recently, more days could have been taken to do it and for people to involve themselves, so it probably "officially" starts a little later (by the 8th at the very least, though work can go on throughout it) - feel free to use your judgement/have fun!

Notes: Booths can be labeled as separate comments! Just put [booth name] or something in the subject line so people can find top level comments easier.

Work probably started for it on the 5th-7/8th for labor purposes, though feel free to use dates to your advantage here! (Even if characters slapdash something at the last minute, it would be fun to see! It would even be encouraged after the crazy from the last event - kind of a way to get back in touch with themselves.)

CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME TO TAG THE LOG FOR INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, NOT JUST BOOTHS, SO FEEL FREE TO TAG IN! Also a character who might not know what's going on is welcome to walk by and question it! And so forth. (Helios and Ikki made posts in regard to it and there have been art club posters around, so anyone could have noticed those as well!)

I'll leave descriptions up to you all as there isn't much that is too uniform about the displays, as everyone is encouraged to be creative about their presentations and how hard the characters worked isn't something I could define for each of you. Just keep in mind that this takes place in the plaza, there shouldn't be an issue with blocking traffic (there may be ropes up to try and keep pathways clear, however!), though it may branch around various points of the square depending on where someone wants a booth located / the number of actual participants. The square will also have a lot of brightly colored signs and decorations indicating what is going on!

Hmm... I suppose I could start with Asgard, since this costume drew your attention.

Asgard is one of the oldest surviving cities in Sylvarant, and contains the most relics from when the Balacruf dynasty was still a ruling power ... [And then, she'll continue on. The city of the wind, connection to the wind summon spirit, look at these artifacts from the mausoleum ...]

[Oh, history... he tries to be attentive, he really does, because in a sense, it is interesting. But the time she still goes on about the ruling powers of the past a part of his brain is like "man who cares what a bunch of old dead people did?" This continues for a spell until he points at a random other point in the map (happening to hit relatively close to Luin) and]

[Oh. He wasn't paying attention, was he. She blinks at the interruption, a little miffed, but at least he still seems to be looking at the map.]

Hm? Another city, then? That is the city of Luin. It's a city that has faced near to complete devastation on several different occasions, but the people there always find a way to rebuild again.

Devastation, huh? I take it they don't have any sort of luck, there.

No. The location is good for local resources, which is why it's constantly sought after... the hope of the people living there often carries them to rebuild it.

Yeeesh, that's harsh. [He wonders what it must he like to literally rebuild a village for that many times]

[wise_maiden]

It just went through a period of devastation and renewal fairly recently. ... Well, recently in terms of when I was last there, anyway. It truly is a beautiful city when it's cleaned up.

Well, at least they have those resources to help them afford all that rebuilding over and over if it's really such a common thing.

Not quite. They had to borrow quite a bit, this last time.

[generalflirt]

Well, let's hope the bank doesn't repossess the whole town.

[wise_maiden]

... They're not in danger of that, either. It just takes time to rebuild, so in this case they had to rely on outside help to do so. Once the Desians were out of that area, it was easier for them to do so.

I feel like I've heard "Desians" before, but I can't quite place it, Sensei.

Probably because it's part of a much longer story. They were an organization that tortured the citizens of the declining world until circumstances emerged that removed them from power.

Yeah...? Well then, it's a good thing those guys got busted out. [What does he even say to that? He doesn't know]

[wise_maiden]

Indeed. Not that the world doesn't have other problems in the aftermath. [She shrugs a little.] Any other questions?

[generalflirt]

[Sheesh-] No, no. I'll get out of your hair, Sensei.

[And he half turns now, looking to walk away]
