What: The Cultural Fair
When: June 5th- 12th - admittedly dates are sort of nebulous - set up could have begun as early as the 5th, but given the event recently, more days could have been taken to do it and for people to involve themselves, so it probably "officially" starts a little later (by the 8th at the very least, though work can go on throughout it) - feel free to use your judgement/have fun!

Notes: Booths can be labeled as separate comments! Just put [booth name] or something in the subject line so people can find top level comments easier.

Work probably started for it on the 5th-7/8th for labor purposes, though feel free to use dates to your advantage here! (Even if characters slapdash something at the last minute, it would be fun to see! It would even be encouraged after the crazy from the last event - kind of a way to get back in touch with themselves.)

CHARACTERS ARE WELCOME TO TAG THE LOG FOR INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, NOT JUST BOOTHS, SO FEEL FREE TO TAG IN! Also a character who might not know what's going on is welcome to walk by and question it! And so forth. (Helios and Ikki made posts in regard to it and there have been art club posters around, so anyone could have noticed those as well!)

I'll leave descriptions up to you all as there isn't much that is too uniform about the displays, as everyone is encouraged to be creative about their presentations and how hard the characters worked isn't something I could define for each of you. Just keep in mind that this takes place in the plaza, there shouldn't be an issue with blocking traffic (there may be ropes up to try and keep pathways clear, however!), though it may branch around various points of the square depending on where someone wants a booth located / the number of actual participants. The square will also have a lot of brightly colored signs and decorations indicating what is going on!

Is that so? I think I'd like to see that.

Ha! Let me get it.

[Abandoning the padded stick, he jogs to his table and retrieves his cricket bat in short order, returning at a quick walk and, a little showily, putting the bat through forward and backward twirls as he does.]

I've been using W.G. here since things went pear-shaped back home, but there wasn't much in the way of actual training until I got to Luceti. [He glances around the front of the booth, then grins at Loki curiously.] Do you want me to just hit at the air?

Oh, I see. What does WG stand for?

A moment...

[Grinning, Loki slips off the throne and uses sucks and other bits (plus cheating with magic when necessary) to construct a little dummy for jack.]

It stands for one of the finest cricketers of all time. Longest career of any of them, too. Seemed like a good omen. [He laughs to himself as he watches Loki work, turning the much-abused bat over in his hands.] I thought that was the done thing for you mythical types, naming your weapons.

Cricketer? [...okay, are the humans just making words up again?]

Well, some do. When it is the only weapon you have. I've never felt the need to name my daggers.

It is the only weapon I have, actually.

[He stretches his arms one way and then the other, forward and backward, and checks his grip on the bat before springing into the first attack on the dummy. He wields the bat one-handed, like a heavy shortsword or a machete, movements arcing through blocks with the flat before chopping with the narrow edge.]

And a cricketer is a person who plays cricket. The sport that uses bats like this.

[Loki watches the bat and nods.]

I don't really know any mortal sports, I'm afraid.

But you do rather well with that.

Ah, thanks. It's sort of- hn-

[A backswing wheels into a hard- two-handed blow at head level, and there's a fierce crack of wood splintering before Jack jogs back again, heels of his trainers never long on the ground.]

-funny. I'm probably better at using it this way now than I ever was for sport.

Well, I'm certain this is far more useful than sport, too.
