What: A party to celebrate the longest day of the year

Where: The Southern Lake
Summary: Helios and Saori decided to host a party with food, dancing, and friends to mark the solstice, the birthday of a friend, and several other personal things. Residents volunteered to help get it together, and now all the work is done so it's time to set aside their troubles and enjoy summer!
Rating: PG to PG-13 at most (For language most likely)


It'd taken a week, getting everything together, but with everyone pitching in they'd managed it. Food, drinks, decorations, and all the trappings of a fine summer party. An area had been roped off for dancing and music, umbrella'd tables had been procured for meals and relaxing in the shade, and they'd even set up a piano for Fredric to perform with. A gentle breeze kept the lakeshore cool and mosquito free, and by noon everything appeared to be ready for the midsummer party.

The Longest Day, Helios' boyfriend's birthday, and Saori's ascension day had all conveniently coincided, so no matter what you're here to celebrate, enjoy yourselves and have fun! Toss your character anywhere, and remember that all important rule. As a note, teleport sigils to the other party were set up by Helios so feel free to pop between the two. Go ahead and start new top-level comments if you like too, these are just generic ones!

[ He doesn't mind the contact or that so many people are probably watching right now. It does make his face light up, but he'll push down his deep seated embarrassment to enjoy the time and this dance with Max. ]

Oh yes. It's certainly more upbeat and energetic than the waltz. I think you'd like it, it's very...fluid actually.

[Max on the other hand, just doesn't care whether anyone is watching, not when this feels so good and he's enjoying it so much.]

O-Oh! Now? Yes, of course now. Um. Alright-alright then. Just, just relax and f-follow me, hm? [ Even if it's Helios that is the one that needs to relax. But he'll manage that once he listens to the music and starts to actually feel and hear the rhythm of it. Helios will take Max through a slow set of matching moves then. His movements a bit jittery but otherwise consistent and well paced to the music. ]

Well, I'm here and they're playing some appropriate music so... no time like the present, right?

[Besides, they could be playing Tibetan chanting and he'd still be happy to dance with Helios. He manages to follow the steps, laughing at a few missteps on his own part, but he thinks he picks it up reasonably well.]

Yes, very right. And you're doing exceptionally well for your first time. Are-are you sure you've never swing danced before?

[ Besides the few missteps here or there Max is proving to be a very good dance partner at the moment. ]

I'm sure! I learnt some formal dances when I was younger because I am supposed to be a cultured young gentleman, but not swing dancing.
