[The rec center today is colourfully decorated, with posters and directing signs here and there to make this whole process easier. The main floor is peppered with a bunch of tables and chairs pilfered from various locations (primarily the school) with two chairs facing each other per table. There's a couple of bigger tables off to the side, one for food (carrying drinks and various snacks, including Teddy and Ororo's homemade rainbow cookies), and the other with a few chairs and piles of paper everywhere. And a checklist. The checklist is important.

The desk is Billy's, and he's handing sheets of paper out to anyone who comes in and was signed up for the speed dating. Give your name, get a sheet and a name tag, go to the first desk or mingle until it starts- that's what people will be told when they arrive. Teddy's not far from the desk or the door depending on where he's needed, directing people to follow the signs, get comfortable, try some snacks- whatever they want.

Finally a lounge area has been set up with cushy chairs, couches, and the rec center's supply of games and whatnot in the corner. There is a sign for the area that says, "If you find yourself on a turn without a date, come hang out!" It's also got a picture of a weird-looking potato man hanging out, but never mind that.

When everything is ready and people are good to go, Teddy steps up and calls for attention, with Billy sitting on top of the table behind him for moral support (and unhelpful interruptions).]

Hey, guys – Hey! Can everyone hear me? Everyone? [...] Great!

I'm sure everyone knows why they're here. Or, you know, not, since a few of these sign-ups look a little suspicious... [He raises an eyebrow at that, but his smile remains good-natured, and his brow smooths over soon enough.] On behalf of Alliance, welcome to Luceti's very first -

-We think.

- speed dating event! [Though Teddy glances at Billy for that interruption, he'd paused as if he expected it to come.] I'm Teddy, and this is Billy, and we're your hosts today. I'll try to be brief for those of you who just want to get this started already, but let's go over the rules and regulations first.

If you happened to get dragged into this without knowing what you're getting yourself into, it's basically exactly as it sounds. You might remember one of us handing you a list of numbers. Well, when Billy gives the signal, everyone will head to the table with the first number on their list, which will pair you off with someone in the room you just might not have met before! You'll have five minutes to talk to them and get to know them, just enough time for a good – or bad – first impression. After that, one of us will blow the whistle, and you'll go to the next numbered table. And on and on, until it's all over! By then, you might have found someone you're interested in, either as a friend, a potential love interest, or even just someone you really don't want to see again.

To keep track of it all, there's a space beside the number to write down the name of the person you're talking to and anything else you might have learned about them. And maybe by the end, you can write down a no, a yes, or an oh yes.

Try not to be too vague about it and we'll give you your matches at some point in the future.

[Teddy grins after that, a happy and excited one.] Remember, this is all about having fun and meeting new people! If you want to take a break, get bored, or don't have a partner, refreshments are on that side of the room [He gestures to the side, showing off the assorted foods and the cookies that he and Ororo spent a good part of the night baking.], or you can come up and talk to us! We're just the supervisors here, after all.

[He takes a step back after that, his attention going to Billy, his way of telling him to give the signal.] Billy?

[Billy gives a small wave, remaining on his table. Teddy did the hard part, after all.] There's a lounge, too, if we're not interesting enough. You might meet somebody there you're not paired with and find a new friend, so give it a shot.

That's pretty much it, so everyone can go on and head to your first table, and we'll blow the whistle in one minute. Thanks for coming, and try to have fun!

[Gold was all over this event the moment he'd heard about it. He was so down with it, not only had he signed up himself, he signed up a couple of his housemates too without their permission! He was always down with meeting new friends, and if one of those new friends just so happened to become more than friends, then, well... Hey, he's not going to complain.

Gold, sadly, made no effort to dress up, coming in his usual attire. But hey, he feels he looks good anyway and that's what counts, right? Right.

He'll be alternating between doing one of three things:

a) seeking out his romantic partners Anise, Artemis, Bulla, Crystal, Flora, Hinata, Korra, Laura, Pilouette, Shiemi, Yellow, and Zatanna
b) seeking out his friendship partners Aang, Aleos, Cross, Elizabeth (Persona), Freyjadour, Hisoka, Ion, Joshua, Primrose, Rei Hino, Rin, Tear, and Xavin
c) Filling on more of those rainbow cookies than is probably safe for human consumption.

[Even though Crys has been enjoying herself thus far, she's still feeling slightly nervous. These kinds of things aren't really her thing, and oh boy would she like to give Gold a kick in the face for signing her up for the romance part.

So when she sees said jerk sitting across from her? Yeah, not very impressed.] Well, if it isn't the guilty party himself.

[SHE'S GONNA KICK YOU WHEN THESE FIVE MINUTES ARE OVER.]

Guilty as charged. [He gives a nonchalant shrug.]

[Jerk.] Was it really necessary to sign me up for the romance section? You know I'm no good at that sort of thing.

[He leans forward over the table.]

Call it a learning experience, then. You'll never get any better if you don't try!

What if I'm not looking to get a date or boyfriend or anything? I appreciate the sentiment [Except not.] but ask next time.

I did ask you! ...After I signed you up! [It's not like he forced you to come, Crystal.]

Yeah, that was really thoughtful of you. [Feel that. That's sarcasm.] Well, at least it's fun.

[Hinata was sitting at her table as he approached and she was starting to see that perhaps that even though Ino-san meant well with this that she was already tired from the stress of everything.

Surprisingly, her hands were dry and her hair and clothes still looked decent enough. So, she doesn't find it difficult to greet him when the time comes.]

Are you...are you Gold-kun?

Thaaaaaat's me. But just call me Gold. [He gives her a grin, as he glance down at his sheet of paper.]

And you're... Hinata, right?

[She hides the grimace at being told once again to refer to someone so impolitely, even with permission.]

Yes, I am Hinata. Please, sit and tell me about yourself.

[Hey, don't have to tell him twice. He's quick to sit down in that chair.]

No way, it'd be rude for me to just go on and on about myself. You tell me about yourself. [Because he knows full well he could fill up their allotted five minutes talking about himself.]

[She is already completely uncomfortable and he has asked her to speak on her least favorite subject, herself.] I-I am from Konoha. I am a kunoichi from an old and respected clan in my village. I am the clan head's older daughter. My cousin, best friend, and other friends are here in this village, aside from my team mate Aburame Shino-kun.

[She thinks about the things her other "dates" have asked about.] My hobbies include cooking, pressing flowers, training, and working at the clinic. My favourite foods are cinnamon buns and red bean soup.

[Hinata attempts a smile.] And now I would like to know about you, Gold-kun.

Konoha, huh? [That name sounds familiar to him, for sure.]

So, you're from the same world as Shikamaru and his crew, huh? [He'll get to talking about himself in due time.]

[She is glad that Shikamaru and the others have been here for so long. It saves her from having to explain much about her world to others.]

Y-yes. Shikamaru-kun and I graduated from our villages academy in the same year.

[Alalala, in his suit, going to his next location to sit down opposite of his next (mercifully friendship) match, and then when he sits down he sees the guy and-]

Weren't you one of those pokemon trainers?

That's how you strike up a conversation with a guy you never met? No "Hey" or "Nice to meetcha" or even just givin' your name, huh?

Prim is wearing a rather nice floral-patterned sundress with a white cardigan over it, and has her hair down, kept back with a matching white headband. And she is also sporting her nametag, of course. ]
