[The rec center today is colourfully decorated, with posters and directing signs here and there to make this whole process easier. The main floor is peppered with a bunch of tables and chairs pilfered from various locations (primarily the school) with two chairs facing each other per table. There's a couple of bigger tables off to the side, one for food (carrying drinks and various snacks, including Teddy and Ororo's homemade rainbow cookies), and the other with a few chairs and piles of paper everywhere. And a checklist. The checklist is important.

The desk is Billy's, and he's handing sheets of paper out to anyone who comes in and was signed up for the speed dating. Give your name, get a sheet and a name tag, go to the first desk or mingle until it starts- that's what people will be told when they arrive. Teddy's not far from the desk or the door depending on where he's needed, directing people to follow the signs, get comfortable, try some snacks- whatever they want.

Finally a lounge area has been set up with cushy chairs, couches, and the rec center's supply of games and whatnot in the corner. There is a sign for the area that says, "If you find yourself on a turn without a date, come hang out!" It's also got a picture of a weird-looking potato man hanging out, but never mind that.

When everything is ready and people are good to go, Teddy steps up and calls for attention, with Billy sitting on top of the table behind him for moral support (and unhelpful interruptions).]

Hey, guys – Hey! Can everyone hear me? Everyone? [...] Great!

I'm sure everyone knows why they're here. Or, you know, not, since a few of these sign-ups look a little suspicious... [He raises an eyebrow at that, but his smile remains good-natured, and his brow smooths over soon enough.] On behalf of Alliance, welcome to Luceti's very first -

-We think.

- speed dating event! [Though Teddy glances at Billy for that interruption, he'd paused as if he expected it to come.] I'm Teddy, and this is Billy, and we're your hosts today. I'll try to be brief for those of you who just want to get this started already, but let's go over the rules and regulations first.

If you happened to get dragged into this without knowing what you're getting yourself into, it's basically exactly as it sounds. You might remember one of us handing you a list of numbers. Well, when Billy gives the signal, everyone will head to the table with the first number on their list, which will pair you off with someone in the room you just might not have met before! You'll have five minutes to talk to them and get to know them, just enough time for a good – or bad – first impression. After that, one of us will blow the whistle, and you'll go to the next numbered table. And on and on, until it's all over! By then, you might have found someone you're interested in, either as a friend, a potential love interest, or even just someone you really don't want to see again.

To keep track of it all, there's a space beside the number to write down the name of the person you're talking to and anything else you might have learned about them. And maybe by the end, you can write down a no, a yes, or an oh yes.

Try not to be too vague about it and we'll give you your matches at some point in the future.

[Teddy grins after that, a happy and excited one.] Remember, this is all about having fun and meeting new people! If you want to take a break, get bored, or don't have a partner, refreshments are on that side of the room [He gestures to the side, showing off the assorted foods and the cookies that he and Ororo spent a good part of the night baking.], or you can come up and talk to us! We're just the supervisors here, after all.

[He takes a step back after that, his attention going to Billy, his way of telling him to give the signal.] Billy?

[Billy gives a small wave, remaining on his table. Teddy did the hard part, after all.] There's a lounge, too, if we're not interesting enough. You might meet somebody there you're not paired with and find a new friend, so give it a shot.

That's pretty much it, so everyone can go on and head to your first table, and we'll blow the whistle in one minute. Thanks for coming, and try to have fun!

[ Primrose shows up punctually and pleasantly - although this shouldn't be any surprise, since she signed herself up. She's made a clear effort to look nice, despite only being under the Friendship category, and actually went out to find an outfit previously in the week. What she came up with was a flower-patterned sundress, over which is a simple white cardigan. She's also left her hair down instead of in braids, though she's wearing an equally simple white headband to keep it out of her way.

She'll greet every match with a smile, and will periodically grab a cookie or top of her drink.

Matches are: Aang, Aleos, Anise, Asbel, Cross, Crystal, Donatello, Flora, Gold, Grune, Ion, Jason, Laura, Loki, Pascal, Tear, Tsuzuki, Twilight Sparkle, Xavin, Zatanna. She is more than willing to say hello to anyone she recognizes not on that list, however, or to anyone who approaches her between speed-dates. ]

[Well, at least he's done his homework on this dating stuff. Still, he's so unsure. Why couldn't this be as easy as fighting? Or using a computer? If he just acts like himself this shouldn't be too hard? Besides it's a good way to make friends. So, he'll just be at his table, smoothing out the messy tangles of his hair. ]

[Okay, so, somehow Asch was dragged here. And he'll cooperate, mostly. But he won't be happy about it. Oh well, at least he's decent to look at D|

[ In between turns (it's good she doesn't have too many!), Ororo wanders over to the MC table, looking like she didn't just spend half the night baking cookies with Teddy. ]

I think congratulations are in order. This is looking like a successfully organized event.

[Clementine's not quite signed up for the dating stuff, but she trailed Jack here anyway just to see what the fuss was all about. It's interesting to see everyone mingling together! But also kind of boring to be a kid in a pack of grownups who don't seem to have time for kid stuff tonight. So she'll start off by examining the potato-headed drawing and snacking before progressing to furniture-climbing. It's like being a gymnast except the landings are softer. :D]

[Naruto isn't quite sure what he's doing here- he didn't sign himself up for this but his Mother had good intentions. Right?? Either way- he doesn't want to disappoint her even though it's pretty weird that she wants to set him up with a girl ~~why didn't she ask Sakura-chan??~~

Meeting new people is fun anyway so he'll be here with a smile on his face, looking out for his apparent matches or anyone else that wants to stop by and say hi.]

In any case, when he approaches...oh jeez is he under dressed for this thing? All he's got on his pair of jeans, a t-shirt and a button up shirt on. When he moves over to her, he tilts his body to the side to get a good look. Yup, that name tag says Prim on it.

Approaching now, there's a smile on his face.]

Prim, right? My name's Cross.

[After the blow of the whistle, this is one of the tables Luke found himself at - romantic, even. God, this was hectic - he checks the list just to make sure that has the right number, then plops himself down in the chair, back straight and an awkward smile on his face.]

Um, hi. I'm Luke.

[LADIES, PREPARE TO BE DAZZLED~ She'll also be sitting out in the lounge for a bit, scouting out the girls she spoke to and maybe making small talk with whoever is around.]

[This hadn't been her idea, and she hadn't come here voluntarily. She could by all rights leave but somehow doing that meant Loki won. Staying meant he won as well but at least this way she can say she'd left the house long enough to meet some people and made an attempt at a social night.

That has to count for something.

She'll be civil enough, of course. It is no fault of anyone here that she was signed up. She'll be somewhat irritated all the same the first few rounds, though.]

[They'd had their heads close to each other and whispering something when Ororo came up, and Teddy's the first to notice and pull back to smile up at her. Don't they just look professional, with clipboards that have everyone's names and who's paired off and a ticking timer and everything?]

Thanks. Billy did pretty much all of the organizing, so it all goes to him. [He leans over to nudge shoulders with Billy, a secretly proud smile on his face.]

And you look great, Ororo. [Not like she stayed up nearly the whole night with him at all.]

[She looked up as the redhead sat down across from her suddenly, her cheeks permanently tinged red since she'd walked through the door.]

H-hello. I am Hinata Hyuuga.

[The long version: So Fenimore is highly doubtful about how this is going to work (being from a village smaller than even Luceti means that she never really had to consider meeting lots of new people), but, well...it's been five years since she went on a date of her own volition and over two years since the Malnosso caused her to go on one. In her current like as basically an unofficial single mom, she misses getting treated like a beautiful (or at least reasonably pretty) and charming (or at least likeable) young woman. And even if she would be even less likely to admit it than the former part, she also misses kissing. The last Malnosso-mandated romance ended before she felt like she'd gotten her fill of making out and it was kind of frustrating! She will go to her grave insisting that she's just curious, but she's not entirely without ulterior motive.

But, unwilling as she was to tell anyone that she's frustrated about this, she's trying to strike a balance between looking attractive and looking like she's trying too hard. She's put on some light make-up, but with an eye towards being unobtrusive, avoiding any particularly eye-catching colours. Her hair has been let down from its usual twintails to fall most of the way down her back, but she's otherwise left it alone. Her clothing also strikes a balance by being quite nice yet not formal, but since her usual kind of outfit is already layered with designs on several edges, it's probably not a noticeable difference to anyone who doesn't know about Ferines fashion.

She's also going to do her best to appear casual and confident, even if she's not really a fan of as big of a crowd as this in a relatively enclosed space and she's not used to quite so regimented a social activity as this. Any evidence to the contrary will probably only really leak out in the way she examines her list closely and holds it tightly as she moves between her assigned tables.

Her list of speed dates being not as long as some of the people here, she can also be found at times at the lounge or the forever alone table, probably metaphorically catching her breath.

The short version: Fenimore is here, ostensibly out of curiosity, with low expectations but a willingness to have a little fun.

Matches are Asch, Bolin, Chouji, Cross, Crystal, Fayt, Flora, Gai, Hoshikyo, Isamu, Joshua, Kouki, Kurt, Laura, Luke, Masaomi, Rei Hino, and Rock Lee, but can be approached by others when she's not with a match if desired.]

[Rock Lee is a man with a mission. He has come prepared for this amazing competition, the "speed date". He's wearing his green jumpsuit and flack jacket as always, but it is freshly washed and lined with flowers.

Every time the whistle goes off, he will dash to the next appointed table, eager to be the first seated and engage the next person.

Once the other person arrives, Lee will be doing one of two actions.]

A:

Ah... You must be the appointed date.

[He immediately dispenses a set of flowers - he either throws some with stems like shuriken (but of course not hard enough to actually hurt!) or he blows a small cloud of sakura petals at them.]

FLOWER NO JUTSU!

B:

[Once the person arrives, Lee is on the table, doing push-ups. Or balancing himself on his head.]

[He's not expecting to find someone to date, but if there's a girl who is interested? Why not give it a go?

But otherwise, this headphones wearing young man with black wings comes along just for fun. This would be his very first speed dating thing, so he's interested in seeing how it turns out by the end of it. Even if he get out of it without future dates...well, he'd make friends.]

[THE BABES, THE LIGHTS, THE ROMANCE... Actually no, his first thought as he steps into the Rec Center is he wonders where hr moved the pool table, air hockey, and couch. Either way, here's there and ready to meet his matches, flirting all the way.

Masaomi considered dressing up to impress, but decided to just go with something more his style. Though in place of one of the bracelets that depicts he has on this one that he always wears and an additional necklace which is just string and a five yen coin. But he's so ready for this-!

Also before his first match up, during his downtime, and well after his last he'll be in the lounge, being a socialite there too. He feels in his element here.]

[ Cross shouldn't worry in the least; Prim just planned for this a bit too much, wanting to make a good impression on people - she wanted to make more friends, especially considering how new she still was to this place - and she doesn't seem the least bit upset about the jeans and layered shirt combo.

Instead she smiles back at him, automatically searching for his name tag - oh, he gave her name.

Cross? She'd memorized the list of names given to her upon arrival, and that one was definitely familiar. ]

Oh! So it's the two of us for this round? I think our table's right over here...

[ She gestured, and went to take a seat herself, looking expectantly across at him - for the next five minutes, Cross had her undivided attention. ]

It's really nice to meet you - I'd give my name, but... [ She laughed a little. ] I've never really done this sort of thing before. Have you?

[Artemis is really not sure how she got talked into this. She thinks it had something to do with her and Zatanna conspiring to get the boys here and didn't quite think about that meaning she would end up here too.

She's still feeling a little sort of awkward after the unsettling few weeks she's had, but she takes her list, dons her name tag and obediently follows Billy and Teddy's directions as much as she can.

And she'll do her best to be mostly friendly to whoever settles across from her.

...But let's be honest, Artemis is hardly Miss Social Butterfly, so she's not making ay promises.]
