[The rec center today is colourfully decorated, with posters and directing signs here and there to make this whole process easier. The main floor is peppered with a bunch of tables and chairs pilfered from various locations (primarily the school) with two chairs facing each other per table. There's a couple of bigger tables off to the side, one for food (carrying drinks and various snacks, including Teddy and Ororo's homemade rainbow cookies), and the other with a few chairs and piles of paper everywhere. And a checklist. The checklist is important.

The desk is Billy's, and he's handing sheets of paper out to anyone who comes in and was signed up for the speed dating. Give your name, get a sheet and a name tag, go to the first desk or mingle until it starts- that's what people will be told when they arrive. Teddy's not far from the desk or the door depending on where he's needed, directing people to follow the signs, get comfortable, try some snacks- whatever they want.

Finally a lounge area has been set up with cushy chairs, couches, and the rec center's supply of games and whatnot in the corner. There is a sign for the area that says, "If you find yourself on a turn without a date, come hang out!" It's also got a picture of a weird-looking potato man hanging out, but never mind that.

When everything is ready and people are good to go, Teddy steps up and calls for attention, with Billy sitting on top of the table behind him for moral support (and unhelpful interruptions).]

Hey, guys – Hey! Can everyone hear me? Everyone? [...] Great!

I'm sure everyone knows why they're here. Or, you know, not, since a few of these sign-ups look a little suspicious... [He raises an eyebrow at that, but his smile remains good-natured, and his brow smooths over soon enough.] On behalf of Alliance, welcome to Luceti's very first -

- speed dating event! [Though Teddy glances at Billy for that interruption, he'd paused as if he expected it to come.] I'm Teddy, and this is Billy, and we're your hosts today. I'll try to be brief for those of you who just want to get this started already, but let's go over the rules and regulations first.

If you happened to get dragged into this without knowing what you're getting yourself into, it's basically exactly as it sounds. You might remember one of us handing you a list of numbers. Well, when Billy gives the signal, everyone will head to the table with the first number on their list, which will pair you off with someone in the room you just might not have met before! You'll have five minutes to talk to them and get to know them, just enough time for a good – or bad – first impression. After that, one of us will blow the whistle, and you'll go to the next numbered table. And on and on, until it's all over! By then, you might have found someone you're interested in, either as a friend, a potential love interest, or even just someone you really don't want to see again.

To keep track of it all, there's a space beside the number to write down the name of the person you're talking to and anything else you might have learned about them. And maybe by the end, you can write down a no, a yes, or an oh yes.

Try not to be too vague about it and we'll give you your matches at some point in the future.

[Teddy grins after that, a happy and excited one.] Remember, this is all about having fun and meeting new people! If you want to take a break, get bored, or don't have a partner, refreshments are on that side of the room [He gestures to the side, showing off the assorted foods and the cookies that he and Ororo spent a good part of the night baking.], or you can come up and talk to us! We're just the supervisors here, after all.

[He takes a step back after that, his attention going to Billy, his way of telling him to give the signal.] Billy?

[Billy gives a small wave, remaining on his table. Teddy did the hard part, after all.] There's a lounge, too, if we're not interesting enough. You might meet somebody there you're not paired with and find a new friend, so give it a shot.

That's pretty much it, so everyone can go on and head to your first table, and we'll blow the whistle in one minute. Thanks for coming, and try to have fun!

We totally can! I was hoping for them to interact after. I really enjoy Vash and Addie interacting!

{ Since he was being such a good sport about this, at least in her opinion he was, she quickly blows him a kiss before she has to depart.

And criminal or not -- Not that anyone here knew that and she'll like to keep it that way thanks -- Addie does believe in keeping her promises. Ones she made personally at least. So she is waiting at the lounge, all smiles, as the event wraps up and looks around now and then to see if he comes. }

[Vash finishes off his round of dates, not just because it's polite, but because he's not use to women being serious when they say they want a relationship with him to go further. Still, just to be sure, when the event starts wrapping up he heads out into the lounge and-] You're really still here! [Did he just say that out loud?]

{ She has to admit, it is endearing in a way with how surprised he is that she's here. He was a sweet man and hey. No worries of business mixing with fun seeing no familiar faces are here to hound her. All the more reason to go after this.

She heads over to where he is and flashes him a little smile that shows she's so happy he came. Like she was worried that he wouldn't show up. }

Of course I am. Why wouldn't I be waiting for you? I made a promise and you're interesting. { A casual shrug like these are facts that they both should be familiar with. } Very good reasons for a lady to stay and a gentleman to come in my experience.

[goldenglasses]

Oh, I dunno, I guess I thought maybe you were just being polite is all! HAHAHAHHA! [His loud laugh suddenly stops and he leans over inquisitively.] Were you just being polite? Because it's alright if you were.

{ She leans back a bit when he leans over because personal space.

The smile never wavers, however, and instead she winks. Places a hand on her hip in a casual, relaxed manner to deliberately try and showcase her honesty. } If I wanted to be polite, I could have simply left you a note saying my apologizes on not being able to meet you.

But I'm here. Doesn't that say something about your magnetism and charm? To have a lady like myself wait in hopes she gets to talk to you again.

Well, then I hope I haven't kept you waiting too long then! At least now there's no bell to interrupt us. What do you think we should talk about next then?

Or, I don't know about you, but I'm getting hungry. Want to move our talk over to Seventh Heaven and grab a bite to eat?

Anything that comes to mind, really. I'm very curious to hear more about your life if you don't mind that. I've been hearing people's stories from where they are from and they never cease to be fascinating to me!

{ At the mention of food, Addie has to discreetly press a hand to her stomach to make sure it doesn't rumble at the mention of food. Now that he mentions it-- It would be nice to grab a bite to eat after moving so much today. } I would love to and glad you suggested that.

It certainly a more intimate setting for the two of us. We'll get to know each other better that way. { And no bell to cut them off when it gets interesting? Even better. }

Then let's go! 'Cause I'm starved! [Romantic? He's not sure he would have called 7th Heaven romantic, but for lack of any other place to really call a dinner he suppose it's not too far from the truth. If he's following that romantic route better go all the way then!

He hurries ahead to open the door leading outside for her.] Ladies, first!

[He quickly will catch up and walks side by side with her. Matching her speed carefully as he knows with his long legs it could be easy to out stride people.] My life? I'm afraid there really isn't too much to tell. I'm afraid you got a bit of a boring partner in that way. I'd be way more interested in hearing about your life, honestly.

{ At least someone is trying. It has been a while since someone opened a door for her so the fleeting look of shock on her face is genuine. So is the laughter that bubbles out from her throat as she enters, gives him a wink as thanks.

When he says he'll be more interested in hearing about her, she has to feign a little bit of modesty. Given the background she gave to herself when she first came here and all. }

Me? Goodness. I have no idea what made you think I had an interesting life before coming here. { She looks up at the ceiling and tilts her head back and forth, like that would make something come to mind. } I am from France and am an only child. The only interesting thing about me is that I wish to be a designer for where I am from fashion is taken very seriously. Clothes make the person after all.

[Vash nods along with everything as she talks about it.] France, huh? That's the place that makes really nice wine, right? And designer? That sounds pretty interesting to me! Everyone is hanging on the latest ideas from for guys to come out! Sounds pretty interesting to me!

[Much more interesting then being a being that's over a hundred and thirty year old outlaw.]

Have any of your designs become what everyone's wearing yet?

Why yes. It is. We are the country of wine and women and romance. I like to believe I am an expert on all three subjects due to my time and upbringing there. If you do not mind me bragging.

{ Addie here does love the sound of her own voice at times with how much she talks and tries so hard to sound eloquent. At least she goes quiet for a second to ponder his question about her clothing. The clothing she never made before.

Not that that had be to known. } Unfortunately not yet. I am a mere student, still learning. But there is an attempt on my side to apply it in a practical manner. I am to make a dress for someone. It will be an interesting challenge seeing she is a purple pony.

[As long as he doesn't have to talk about himself Vash is happy to let Addie talk all night long and listen to her own voice.] Wine, woman, and romance. Sounds like my kind of country, alright!

And being a student is nothing to sneeze at or call mere! You're just learning all the small basics everyone needs to know then as soon as you're done I'm sure you're going to wow them all!

You don't have France where you are from? { She dramatically clucks her tongue, giving him a look of sweet sympathy that was also a bit teasing. } I shall do my best to make up for you if that is truly the case! You have no idea what you have been missing out on, my good sir.

Your flattery is so sweet. It makes me happy to know someone has confidence in my talents. Where I am from it can be very competitive with how only a handful can be considered the great designers and the rest are considered mediocre. I like to think I have worked and studied hard enough to be closer to the former than still be a latter.

As far as I'm considered just because you're not famous yet just means you're waiting to be discovered is all!

Alas, we have no France at all! We really do seem to be at a very sad loss to be without it on my home world!
