What: Magic Club revival meeting

Summary: Helios promised to have a magic club meeting and that is what he going to do.

The time has arrived for the next meeting of the magic club and Helios has gone all out to make sure that new feathers and old members alike are comfortable and participating. With some minor preparations of some food and drinks there will be a few tables set up around the small area near the lake as well as a good amount of chairs too. Depending on the turn out this could go very well and he hopes it does.

There will be a few miscellaneous items about for anyone who wants to show off their magical skills as well. Said items include some chalk, some targets, and even colored sands for people to demonstrate with. While this was a time to talk about future projects and ideas one could also find friends and interested peoples who were more...hands on about things too. The area around the club meeting is also significantly cooler than outside the little bubble Helios has made to keep the heat out.

((ooc: Let's pretend that Helios sent out varying notifications for everyone for the magic club meeting. Even people who aren't magically inclined are free to stop by and just watch/ask questions. Filial spirit users are also free to come by as well! Innate magical abilities are not the only things accepted~))

Meet/Greet fellow members

This little part of the club is where people can talk and discuss things other than magic. Explaining your abilities will occur here as well. A sense of community is better for people who might work together. There's some ice breaker activities as well should anyone get cold feet.

Loki

He's still feeling really off, after Jane having disappeared, but this will hopefully take his mind off things...]

Rei

[Rei arrives early, of course and helps with the setup while dressed in her miko's robes. She'd been very supportive of Harry Dresden's work on the club and it was how she'd gotten to know Helios as well as she had.

It felt a little odd, working the Charter without Sabriel even in Luceti but Rei's spiritual talents and the magic Helios and Harry had helped her improve. She'll offer demonstrations of her ESP and other psychic skills if asked, as well as tell fortunes if it's desired.]

[Max is there equally early and he heads over to Rei when she arrives, grinning at her and looking over the robs.]

Wow, going all formal on us for some magic working, hm?

No, I just came from the shrine.

[And it's not all that formal at all, it's just a robe.]

These are my work clothes, Max.

Ah well, obviously my perspective is skewed since I wear this for work most of the time.

Good to see you again, Rei.

Ah Rei. It's been awhile. How have you been? I'm glad you could make it! [ Helios will stroll on over with two cups of soda in his hand, he'll hand one over to the young woman with a smile. He'll look around the small space at the people wandering about and mingling. ]

It's a small turn out so far, I hope we get a few more people by the late afternoon.

Only a few days, Helios. [She smiles, and accepts the cup] Not so very long as all that, unless you miss me more than you let on. Though I admit I've been busier and busier lately, with newcomers and everything.

[She looks around the little group]

It is, but the club was never very large to begin with.

Perhaps I do. [ And here he laughs as he takes a sip from his cup. ] Ah, yes, new feather arrivals is always a busy time of the month. I hope we get a few to stop by here. I would love for people to get acquainted with one another. But you never know how things will turn out, especially things involving magic!

Bitty!Loki

[Loki is present, but watching from a distance while sitting on a branch up in a nearby tree.

He is being awfully silent and awfully busy with sorting out his bag of Skittles. Chances are big that Skittles will land on your head.]

[winds_voice]

[And since Eley was just passing by, he's likely to be one of those people hit by a Skittle on the head. Not that he knows that's what are of course... He flinches as one bounces off, picking it up and regarding it with some confusion. What... was this strange coloured stone?

Looking up, he notices someone perched up on a branch.]

Does this belong to you?

[Loki looks down.]

Surprise! Now it belongs to you! Congratulations!

[He's always been a mostly solitary type when it comes to magic, except when he was training as an exorcist and had been forced to work with other people, so this is a new experience for him, seeing people gathered just to discuss and perform it. It was kind of nice though, getting to really discuss things.]

[ And Helios knows all about Max's solidarity when it came to magical applications and use, so he's very happy and surprised when he sees the other man here as well. ]

I'm glad that you could make it, Max. I-I know large events discussing magic isn't your, ah, thing. S-So I'm...very grateful that you came. [ And it also might take the nervous edge off as Helios hasn't had a club meeting like this before. He always does want to make sure everyone is comfortable and happy after all. But having someone him back him does loads for his confidence at times. ]

[Max smiles at him, bumping his shoulder affectionately, fingers brushing.]

It's not something I'm used to, but you're running it and it'll be fun. Besides, I like showing off.

Saleh + Ewan

[A good chance to meet and greet fellow magic users of different disciplines, Saleh takes Ewan to the meeting to expand on his learning. Perhaps it'd be a good learning experience for the sage as well.]

[So Saleh arrives at the western lake with his own student in tow...]

This is going to be so much fun, isn't it? I can't wait to learn about other magic! [As usual, Ewan is as excited as a little puppy about discovering new things.]

[Noticing some familiar faces as he passes by, Eley pauses to greet the pair of them with a firm nod. It had been quite some time since they last met he realised.]

Ah, hello Saleh. Ewan. Could you perhaps explain what the purpose of this gathering is? I was just passing through... but now I have to wonder.

[mountain_sage]

Eleytheria.

[Saleh returns the nod.]

This is just a gathering for magic users to share their knowledge with one another. It is quite interesting, I think. I've brought Ewan, because he greatly enjoys seeing and learning new things.

[winds_voice]

[Eley was just passing by really but with his naturally inquisitive mind and after seeing some familiar faces, the Spirit will stop a moment to see what this little gathering is all about. Besides, it seemed oddly cooler in this area by the lake.

At the moment he seems to be looking over the various targets and props that had been set out, wondering what the point of them was. The coloured sand catches his attention and he moves closer to it, reaching out to scoop it up with his hand.

[ Helios is, of course, going to be there early and setting things up. But after everything is in its proper place he'll make his rounds to visiting and talking to people. New members and old ones as well. ]

Zatanna

[Zatanna’s been looking forward to this, and her smile is bright as she feels the buzz of mystical forces all around her. This definitely isn’t stage magic, although she still has a deck of cards tucked into her back pocket anyway, just in case. She’s definitely eager and curious though, so she’ll pay attention to every explanation and every demonstration. It’s been an interesting topic ever since she arrived, discovering just how her magic differs from others. Now that there’s a group gathered to explore it, she plans on taking advantage of it.]

[This woman is here without introductions and she's only here to observe. She's in no, absolutely no mood to be here. But... she's just here to observe. To see what other people say and other people propose]

Skysong "Kitten"

Wearing her name tag (which reads 'Skysong') as usual, Kitten has followed Helios to the magic club meeting, eager to meet mages and learn more about the magic of worlds not her own.

She has come prepared. In a small bag with her she has a slate and chalk as well as a paper on which she wrote a few of her less easily demonstrated magical skills.
