Luceti Valley - The First Log

Who: Everyone
What: The start of a new experiment... or is it?
When: August 2nd - August 6th
Where: Luceti itself
Summary: Luceti has become an idyllic and peaceful 50s-esque village. The first few days are just business as usual, right?
Rating: Varies with thread. Please move explicit stuff to appointments post with appropriate warnings.

August 1st had seemed like an ordinary day in Luceti. But late in the evening, for those night owls who had not turned in yet, they were witness to strange fluctuations in the barrier. Beautiful, really, almost like Luceti had received its own 'Northern Lights', even though it seemed to come from the far east, across the ocean. This ominous light show lasted for all of fifteen minutes before it ceased all together. Skimming the ocean waters, a horde of cultists entered Luceti, cloaked by darkness. Upon reaching the entrance to the tunnels, their leader stepped inside and was followed one by one by his fellow cultists. When the last had entered, the tunnel entrance closed. Across the mountains, the entrance to the tunnels in the village did the same.

Midnight passed without incident, but by three in the morning, the change suddenly came. Minds were altered, forms were changed, and buildings sprang from nowhere.

Much later, on August 2nd, morning settled on a changed village, the new mayor made his way to his mansion with his pair of adorable dobermans at either side of him. The sun shined bright. It was a good day to be a Lucetian.

Note: There will be a stand alone log for the homecoming dance. There will be another log for the second stage of the event.

[Nel was standing in the living room of the house she'd managed to purchase for Fayt and herself after their small wedding, looking at all of the furniture that had just been delivered and set up when the door rang. With an impatient sigh, she walked over to open it, surprised to see her big sister there.]

Oh, hello, Anya. I didn't think you knew how to come to this part of town.
strangelyliteral: ([blonde] that one looked interesting)

[personal profile] strangelyliteral 2013-08-02 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I almost got lost. The directions I received were poor. [Anya folds her arms, and tilts her head.] I just wanted to make sure my sister was getting along.

[personal profile] crimsonblade 2013-08-02 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
[With a shake of her head, she moved out of the way.] Well, please, come in. I can get you a drink if you like. And then you can tell Jack and Tony that I'm not wallowing in dirt and despair later.
strangelyliteral: ([red] more cash please)

[personal profile] strangelyliteral 2013-08-02 09:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll be the judge of that. [But she nods and steps into the house, eyes studying the furniture.] A drink would be nice, as well as the grand tour.

[Nel snorts inelegantly as she waves a hand into the large-ish living room.]

Well, the real estate agent assured me that this was the largest house on the street. We've got four bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, a two-car garage and a pool in the back.

[She heads over to the built-in bar, making a gin and tonic for both of them before turning to face her sister.]

I did try to get your opinion on the furniture, you know, but Jack told me three times that you were busy planning your luncheon.

[personal profile] strangelyliteral 2013-08-02 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Sounds to me like you weren't trying hard enough. They're the real deal, right? No knockoffs? [She takes a closer look at the furniture while Nel fixes the drinks.]

[Nel rolled her eyes as she handed Anya her drink.]

Well, I assumed that Jack and your daughters never bothered to tell you I called, while on my honeymoon, to get your help. So, I suffered through my mother-in-law's help, which actually wasn't that bad.

I don't think you've met Cliff and Souji, have you?
strangelyliteral: ([blonde] that was a joke right)

[personal profile] strangelyliteral 2013-08-02 10:30 pm (UTC)(link)
That drab looking couple, right? Your new... in-laws?
crimsonblade: (I feel pretty.)

[personal profile] crimsonblade 2013-08-02 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)
[She ignored Anya's comment about them. Cliff and Souji weren't upper class and didn't have money, so they would seem boring to her sister.

Instead she nodded as she took a sip of her drink and motioned to the couch.]

Yes, they've been really very nice, despite the tension that Cliff feels when Tony's mentioned or is around. And to answer your earlier question, yes, the furniture is real. It cost enough.
strangelyliteral: ([blonde] feeling mellow)

[personal profile] strangelyliteral 2013-08-02 10:55 pm (UTC)(link)
As long as you still have enough money to live on. [She takes a long sip of the drink.] Tony would have a fit if you ran through your trust this soon.

[personal profile] crimsonblade 2013-08-02 11:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course I have enough money to live on. It's not like Fayt doesn't have a job. And... truthfully, Daddy left me enough money in my trust so that I wouldn't have to work unless I wanted to.

Besides, Tony's just looking for an excuse to say something bad about Fayt.
strangelyliteral: ([red] it could be bunnies)

[personal profile] strangelyliteral 2013-08-02 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
That's his unpaid job, being big brother. Of course he wasn't going to approve of just anyone for you. Not that he's one to talk, with his track record, but still.
crimsonblade: (Default)

[personal profile] crimsonblade 2013-08-02 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
No one asked him to approve of Fayt, not really. It's not like Pepper even likes either of us half the time.

And I know that you think I could have done way better than him, but...you haven't even given him a chance, really.
strangelyliteral: ([blonde] pouty)

[personal profile] strangelyliteral 2013-08-02 11:47 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not about giving him a chance, it's about his prospects. Did you marry him just to make a point?
crimsonblade: (You are annoying.)

[personal profile] crimsonblade 2013-08-03 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
No, Anya...I dated him to make a point. I married him because I fell in love with him.

Besides, he's the only man who can match Tony toe-to-toe in snark levels. The rest of the guys you and Pepper introduced me to were all so milquetoast that I gave up on having any kind of conversations with them. Ever.
strangelyliteral: ([blonde] for the greater good)

[personal profile] strangelyliteral 2013-08-03 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
And now who's the one not giving any chances? [Pointedly.] Guess that's why we're all family.
crimsonblade: (Default)

[personal profile] crimsonblade 2013-08-03 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
Look, I dated that first guy... Jack's friend.... He stared at my breasts the entire meal and talked about his golf swing. It was horrible.
strangelyliteral: ([blonde] pay attention to me)

[personal profile] strangelyliteral 2013-08-03 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
He was one of Jack's friends, what do you expect? They weren't all like that.
crimsonblade: (Default)

[personal profile] crimsonblade 2013-08-03 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
I was hoping that my brother-in-law knew me better than that. Obviously, he's as oblivious to me as he is to his own daughters. Besides, Fayt's...sweet and snarky.
strangelyliteral: ([blonde] here we go again)

[personal profile] strangelyliteral 2013-08-03 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
Whatever. You going to give me the tour of the place or not?
crimsonblade: (Default)

[personal profile] crimsonblade 2013-08-03 01:46 am (UTC)(link)
Actually, no. I was going to sit here and let you snoop to your heart's content. Since, you were going to do that anyway.
strangelyliteral: ([dark] the point was made)

[personal profile] strangelyliteral 2013-08-03 01:49 am (UTC)(link)
Well, if that's what you'd prefer I'd do, I'd best get to it properly. [After she finishes off her drink, anyway.]
crimsonblade: (Okay we're good.)

[personal profile] crimsonblade 2013-08-03 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
I'll make sure to have a drink waiting for when you're done. So long as you don't mess with the papers in Fayt's office too badly.
strangelyliteral: ([blonde] pouty)

[personal profile] strangelyliteral 2013-08-03 02:07 am (UTC)(link)
He knows what papers are?

[She finishes off her current drink, and hands the glass back.] Fine then.
crimsonblade: (Really I'm a ninja. Yep.)

[personal profile] crimsonblade 2013-08-03 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
Well, considering he bothered to finish college, I'd say he has some idea, Anya. [She accepts the glass and stands to put it on the bar.] Oh, if you see the cat, pleas keep him out of Fayt's office.
