Luceti Valley - The Second Log

Luceti Valley continued in its own merry little way. The rich got richer, the poor got poorer. A new tax hike had ensured increasing animosity between both groups, despite the protests of the every charitable Lord Mayor. But on the sixth day, something happens and people begin to notice things are unusual. Idle thoughts that if thought about too much is bound to get you a visit to the police station for an hour or so. Or worse, it may just get you committed.

Meanwhile, the asylum continues to gain more and more patients. Those that are trapped there will find escaping difficult, but there may be more to this place than they first assumed...

On the tenth, battle breaks out across Luceti Valley. People begin to exhibit powers and abilities they didn't know they had. The police begin rounding up these people to lock up. If they resist, its bound to come to blows. Even though no one has regained their memories of their true self yet, it becomes apparent that some trickery is afoot, even if they might not know the source or why.


Note: This is the second log! There will be a third and final event log for the aftermath. There will also be two separate logs specifically for finding John and defeating Zompano. For those of you that signed up, we'll be randomizing the results and replying to the selected characters later tonight. In the meantime, keep enjoying the event! [Aang is nearby when he sees the car explode and ducks for cover, not yet noticing the source.]

Whoa! Talk about flaming!

[Zuko's gaze darts over to the boy as he speaks. There you are.

His eyes are still wide in shock from what he's just done. The officer in charge of his arrest lies unconscious a few feet away - still alive, thankfully.]

Aang! What are you doing here?

[It's Patty! Aang looks towards him in concern.]

I was trying just trying to figure out what was going on! Watch out... that car just boomed!

[twodragons]

Yeah, that...

[Best not to go into that too much.]

Never mind that. Are you okay?

[He really shouldn't even care.]

[lasthairbender]

I'm fine, really. What about you, Patty? Those police-guys... They're everywhere. [He wants to make sure his friends are safe from being taken away, even if he's not sure that his newfound abilities will be of any help.]

[twodragons]

[Patty. That's right. The idiot was calling him that.]

Stop calling me Patty. My name is Zuko.

[Who cares if this kid knows his name, anyway?]

And I'm... I guess I'm fine. [If being able to shoot fire from your hands made you 'fine'.] We should get out of here.

[lasthairbender]

Zuko? That's an okay name, I guess. It's nice to meet you! [But he looks around in concern.] Where do we go?

[twodragons]

I dunno, away from here?

[Given that he's kind of the perpetrator of this incident...]

Somewhere away from all of this mess, if possible.

[lasthairbender]

Alright. Away from here sounds like a good idea. [He looks in a random direction and just... starts to scamper.] This way feels good! Like a very... mess-free way!

[twodragons]

You can't just pick a path because it feels okay!

[But he doesn't exactly have any better ideas, so it looks like he'll be following anyway. Anywhere is better than here.]

Try and stick to the back alleys!

Alleys? But... There could be muggers there! And you didn't know where to go either!

[twodragons]

Now you're worried about muggers??

[savedtheworld]

I just don't want more trouble! Or to trouble them! I bet they're just nice people who don't know any other way to make money.

[And then he turns towards back alley.]

So... we should make friends with them!

[twodragons]

Make friends with--

[Zuko had almost forgotten the sort of kid he was dealing with here.]

We don't have time for that! Pretty sure they have more important things to be doing anyway. [He knows he does.]

[lasthairbender]

You're right! Maybe we shouldn't bother them. We'll just... find a nice house to hide in! Or - a tree!

[twodragons]

Yeah, sure... a tree.

[Frankly, Zuko would prefer any place where he might not accidentally burn something down.

This rules out most of town.]

Were you wanting to make for the woods?

[Hopefully Ammy is okay wherever she is.]

[lasthairbender]

The woods? That could be... nice! But... I don't want to go too far away. I want to find some way to help others, too.

[twodragons]

[Help others, huh? He should really be arguing against this, but...]

...So make up your mind already.

[savedtheworld]

[Zuko's words strike him - and he feels very strongly that he has to be decisive. Growing up on the streets made it easy for Aang to pick his fights and retreat when he could. But now? Running away could be safe, but it feels... wrong.

He comes to a stop.]

I want to help. I got to.

[twodragons]

Can you fight? Who are you going to help and how?

Can you set things on fire too? [This is a legitimate question.]

[lasthairbender]

I only know a little about fighting. I'm gonna help... I dunno who but anyone in trouble! And by helping them escape. Cuz the police are... they're crazy.

And... I know how to start fires? [He says kind of confused about that. Isn't it common knowledge, how to make fires?]

[twodragons]

But... can you start them like this?

[He takes deep breath, going through motions that feel completely natural to him today even if they wouldn't have the day before. A small fireball appears in one hand, shooting forward to impact against a nearby wall.]

[savedtheworld]

[His eyes widen in surprise as he beholds it.]

How is that... how is that even possible? [Even if it doesn't seem that odd to him. And he feels like his own power is similar.] Then again, I just found out a little while ago that I can start... air! [And then he makes some circular motions, making a gust of wind from his hair mimicking the path of Zuko's flame.]

[twodragons]

Whoa.

[Zuko makes sure to keep his hands at his sides, as if he might accidentally shoot out more flames while Aang is doing this.]

We should probably not do our... whatever at the same time unless we're trying to burn something down.

[Air+fire and all.]

Maybe! Unless I can... blow the fires out?
