Luceti Valley - The Second Log

Luceti Valley continued in its own merry little way. The rich got richer, the poor got poorer. A new tax hike had ensured increasing animosity between both groups, despite the protests of the every charitable Lord Mayor. But on the sixth day, something happens and people begin to notice things are unusual. Idle thoughts that if thought about too much is bound to get you a visit to the police station for an hour or so. Or worse, it may just get you committed.

Meanwhile, the asylum continues to gain more and more patients. Those that are trapped there will find escaping difficult, but there may be more to this place than they first assumed...

On the tenth, battle breaks out across Luceti Valley. People begin to exhibit powers and abilities they didn't know they had. The police begin rounding up these people to lock up. If they resist, its bound to come to blows. Even though no one has regained their memories of their true self yet, it becomes apparent that some trickery is afoot, even if they might not know the source or why.


Note: This is the second log! There will be a third and final event log for the aftermath. There will also be two separate logs specifically for finding John and defeating Zompano. For those of you that signed up, we'll be randomizing the results and replying to the selected characters later tonight. In the meantime, keep enjoying the event! I only know a little about fighting. I'm gonna help... I dunno who but anyone in trouble! And by helping them escape. Cuz the police are... they're crazy.

And... I know how to start fires? [He says kind of confused about that. Isn't it common knowledge, how to make fires?]

[twodragons]

But... can you start them like this?

[He takes deep breath, going through motions that feel completely natural to him today even if they wouldn't have the day before. A small fireball appears in one hand, shooting forward to impact against a nearby wall.]

[His eyes widen in surprise as he beholds it.]

How is that... how is that even possible? [Even if it doesn't seem that odd to him. And he feels like his own power is similar.] Then again, I just found out a little while ago that I can start... air! [And then he makes some circular motions, making a gust of wind from his hair mimicking the path of Zuko's flame.]

[twodragons]

Whoa.

[Zuko makes sure to keep his hands at his sides, as if he might accidentally shoot out more flames while Aang is doing this.]

We should probably not do our... whatever at the same time unless we're trying to burn something down.

[Air+fire and all.]

[lasthairbender]

Maybe! Unless I can... blow the fires out?

[twodragons]

We're not dealing with candles here, Aang.

[lasthairbender]

R-right. I guess not. So we'll just be careful. Super careful!

[twodragons]

Just tell me if you're gonna do yours and vice versa. Make up some battle cry for it or something.

[He knows this is going to end up ridiculous, but it's better than the alternative.]

That makes sense! We should decide on them now, then. For me, how about...

Zip-ah-dee-doo-dah!

[twodragons]

[Aang gets an utterly deadpan look for that one.]

Are you seriously going to say that every time you use the move?

[lasthairbender]

Yeah, I could say it every time! I feel like it really fits. [A slight frown.] You don't like it?

[twodragons]

I guess it's very...

You.

[lasthairbender]

Thanks! [He beams at that. Cool kid noticed him!] Now, what will yours be?

[twodragons]

I figured I was just gonna say...

[He shrugs helplessly.]

Fire?

[savedtheworld]

[He makes an uncertain face.]

Fire? That's...

[An extended pause - and then he brightens up.]

Neat-o! And easy to remember. Way to go, daddy-o!

[twodragons]

...I think you should leave the "hip lingo" to someone else, Aang.

[Now that's figured out...]

Where to next?

[lasthairbender]

Sure! You seem a lot hipper than me, after all.

So... how about... I don't know. Maybe we should head think of a friend or family member and try to head there to see if they're okay?

[twodragons]

[Zuko lets out an amused "hmph" at being referred to as hip, but the rest of the matter is serious.]

I don't have any family. Just my dog.

[For a moment, something about this rings wrong, but it soon passes.]

I'd like to see if I could find her, though.

[lasthairbender]

[He nods.]

A doggy can be like family, too, Zuko, and there's nothing wrong with that. But where do you think she is? We can try to find her!

[twodragons]

I don't know. We split up when the cops were after me. We have some usual places we meet up at, but she could be anywhere in this mess.

[lasthairbender]

Then... let's try checking one of those places! Maybe we'll find her.

[twodragons]

...Yeah. This way first, then.

[And he veers off down an alleyway without waiting.]

[He quickly runs after him, while giving an uncertain whisper.]

Be careful! It's an alleyway!

[twodragons]

You think I don't know that??

[Come on, kid. He's been living on these streets for years. He thinks.]

Just making sure! I don't see any muggers anyway. I mean, not counting you!
