Summary: Well. So sometimes the Malnosso actually do legitimate experiments that aren't heaped in heavy plot. This is one of those times. Look, just go read the mod post, would you?

[Heeeey, wait a sec. This wasn't that school bus thing! Actually This looks like a completely different room from his. He didn't remember going to bed here last night and he definitely would've have! Because seven year old's have great memories' don't you know?

Now, what's the most logical thing a seven year old can think of? Not call the police, pfft, who does that these days? Nope. It's to wander off into Luceti unchaperoned and take a look around everywhere. No different from home in the end.

Just about anywhere you can think of, this kid somehow shows up there. Good spirits, the item store, the school house, even the library. He's somewhere and everywhere.

When he see's other people Cross isn't going to talk to them. All he does is stare for a good long time. After all, he's still kind of unsure how he'll be treated. At least, since he thinks everyone here has that whole magical thing going when he, uh, doesn't.]

[The item shop is where Norma spends most her time these days, since sneaking around and doing some research on this weirdo place hasn't turned up very much information at all. So, the little youngster may very well see a young lady of sixteen shoveling jewelry and other goodies into her purse with a wide and evil grin on her face. There's a frown here and there as well, as she hops from row to row, eyes looking left and right for anything that looks valuable. There's no one around that's really keeping an eye out on this stuff, so might as well, right? Though it seems someone's had the same idea as her for the real good stuff and picked it clean. Rude.]

Jeez, they couldn't leave the real good stuff for the needier of us?! What a stingy lowlife!

[The young rapscallion here is watching the teenager just shove her purse full of pretty little objects. He's been quiet for this long as he just peers around the corners, just watching that evil look on her face.

And when she finally says something, he comes out of his hiding place.]

Ummm...why would you need all that stuff? It's not food.

[Norma jumps nearly a foot in the air, yelping like she's been shot and whizzing around with her hands up. SHE'S NOT STEALING A THING AND YOU CAN'T PROVE SHE IS. When she sees nothing before her other than a nosy little twerp, her face falls from shock and terror to anger and frustration. The stupidity he spouts just makes her grimace grow. Is he really for real? Jeez...at least she didn't get caught by anyone important.]

Yeah, but this pretty shiny, expensive stuff can buy me a heck of a lot of food. And then some... [Maybe a house - she saw a few empty ones around.]

[There's a small pause as he points up at her. His expression unchanging, his voice also pretty neutral.]

That makes you a dirty thief.

[WHA--wow, who does this little runt think he is?! Bristling, Norma's shoulders tense and she makes a face like she's about to eat his head praying mantis style or something. Which isn't exactly far from the truth - though she'd just set his hair on fire or zap him with one of her eres spells.]

I am not! I'm a world-renowned treasure hunter, for your information! The very best of the best - one who's escaped the jagged, toothy grip of death numerous a time and who goes back for more~! The one who fears nothing and finds everything...! So you better learn a little courtesy there, Runt.

[He thinks he's Cross and Norma's a thief. The rage on his face doesn't move him all that much. Actually he just stares back. When she brings up being a treasure hunter he looks around.]

Don't treasure hunters normally go in old ruins to find treasure? This looks like a store.

[...Smart kid, if he at least knows that much. Norma's ire only fizzles slightly, and she shifts her weight on her other leg, hands on her hips. Really, she would have loved to in ruins or a cave or sunken ship or whatever right now, but there's just one little issue with that--]

Yeah? Well, if you find any ruins or whatever, you let me know. Until then, I'll take my chances on this store. Now if you're done being a snoopy brat, I'm gonna continue my hunt for treasures in this here store~

[He huffs up his cheeks, trying to make himself seem bigger than he is. It kind of fails since he's like a few feet smaller than Norma.]

You'll get in trouble if you do that.

[Of all of the things he hadn't expected early that evening, it was finding a kid loitering outside of the bar. There was something obviously going down in Luceti, but the sheer amount of kids was staggering for him.

None of them had shown up in the bar yet.

Scratching his head and sighing wearily about 'these kids around here lately,' he stepped forward, boots warning of his approach, and stopped nearby.]

I think you're a little too young to go in there alone.

[Too young? Too young, sir!?]

I'm only seven! I'm a big kid. Besides it might have clues!

[He patted the kid on the shoulder.]

Come on, let's go somewhere else. What kinda clues are you looking for anyway?

[He looks to the man and than back to the hand on his shoulder. Back to the man, to his shoulder.

When the question's asked Cross stares up at Cliff, his eyes growing big.]

The ones that'll tell me where I am. 'Cause if I don't find out-I'll die.

[He also sounds completely serious with his last few words. Of course, it's not true.]

[Yes, Cliff knew he was big and intimidating. Don't rub it in.

It was why he offered a smile and some curiosity instead of laying into the snark.]

Come on, I'm sure it's not that bad. Look, come with me, we can get ya some milk or something, and I can tell you where we're at.

Hmmm...milk wooooould be nice. But, why can't you tell me now? It just seems silly to wait.

[If there was one thing she had learned how to do back on Filgaia, it was having a sense of when someone was staring at her. Or so she liked to think, anyway. It was a work in progress, okay.

Still, she hadn't expected to see a little boy there. He wasn't here by himself, was he...?]

Hey, what are you doing out here all alone?

[She even sounded a little worried!]

[Oh, he's been spotted. Than again, standing out in the open was probably never a good hiding place to begin with.

As the girl questions him, Cross looks around for a moment to see if she was regarding someone else. Normally, he'd have been ignored so this seemed like the only obvious answer.

It doesn't take too long for him to get that she actually WAS talking to him.]

Ummmm...If I say yes how much trouble am I going to get in?

[disastergirl]

[...Ha.] None! I just want to know why you were just standing there. Or do I have to promise that you won't be in trouble if you tell me?

[She didn't approach just yet. It seemed like a better idea, since she didn't want to scare him by accident.]

[A look to the left, another look to the right. Okay, didn't seem like no one was around, so Cross signals Jane forward a bit. This is code for he'll tell you his secrets.]

[Oh man, secrets! Her expression brightened as she approached, even though she had absolutely no clue what he was up to.]

[Looking left and right, he looks back to Jane and whispers:]

I'm not allowed out of the house.

[And then he backs up and looks up to her.]

The weird thing is I woke up in a whole different room.

[disastergirl]

[Her cheery look disappeared. He wasn't allowed out of the house? She could scarcely imagine such a thing.]

The same thing happened to me. [a frown.] I don't know what's going on, but it doesn't look like we'll have to worry about food or shelter in the meantime.
