Summary: Well. So sometimes the Malnosso actually do legitimate experiments that aren't heaped in heavy plot. This is one of those times. Look, just go read the mod post, would you?

[...ahaha] Actually, that wasn't the question I was going to ask, but I am glad that you like our Pokemon! [He gives a slight gesture towards the monkey.] This is my friend, Pansage.

[Pansage smiles and gives a cheerful wave, chattering something in Pokemon speak. It's nice to meet you, Aang!]

Pansage, huh? It's nice to meet you! [He smiles and waves back eagerly.] I never saw a creature like that before! Did you say... Pokimon?

Pokemon. [Slight correction of the spelling/pronunciation there, but it's not really that big of a deal. unless that was an unintentional typo but ssshhh]

But yes, that's right. Have you really never met one before? [The monkey appears curious about this too--everyone knows what Pokemon are, don't they?] Where are you from, if you don't mind my asking?

Oh. I'm from the Southern Air Temple. And I never met anything that's called a Pokemon. But I have ridden the hog-monkeys!

"Hog-monkeys"? [Did we hear that right?] What are those?

Oh, they're monkeys that're... like this! [He gets on his fours and does a bizarre impression. Complete with some monkey-ish noises, before he starts to speak again.] They got sharp teeth, red eyes and oinky noses!

[...wow, that was very informative, Aang. Don't let our confusion tell you otherwise.]

O-oh, I see... [Well, we can't recall any Pokemon that fit that colorful description, so--] I've never met any Pokemon like that before, though I must say that your impression of them certainly had an energetic taste to it...

Thanks! I'm sure you'll meet some one day. If you want, I can teach you how to ride them! Too bad your friend there looks a little too small to be ridden.

[...Judging from the look on Pansage's face at that, it probably prefers being small enough where people wouldn't try to ride on it's back. (Plus being small allows us to ride on other people instead!)]

Maybe we'll consider the offer if we should ever come across one of those here. [Which is probably never, but...telling a kid that seems mean.] ...Oh, I don't think I properly introduced myself. I'm Cilan, a Pokemon Connoisseur. And you are?

I'm Aang! And I'm an air nomad. It's nice to meet you, Cilan. What's a Pokemon Connasewer?

Connoisseur. [There he goes correcting your pronunciation again, but he doesn't seem bothered about it.] I suppose it's not a very common profession outside of Unova, but based on our abundance of knowledge and experience, our job is, in the simplest terms, to "determine the capability between Trainer and Pokemon and give them advice on how to become better friends".

Oh, really? So you're a super friendship expert! That's a great job. I wonder if I can become that, too. I already am best friends with Appa, after all!

[ahaha] The taste is a little more complicated than that, but yes, I suppose you could say we're an expert when it comes to friendship, and knowing ways to help others improve on it with their Pokemon. [friendship advice regarding people on the other hand--]

As for your friend Appa, I'm glad to hear that the two of you are close friends as well! [Even if he doesn't know who or what "Appa" is...] What are they like?

Appa's just one creature! He's a sky bison, and I've known him since I was little. Because for my people. sky bisons are companions for life. He's even here, somewhere! He's big, he's fluffy and he can fly.

[cilantro]

A "sky bison"...hm, I can't say I've met one of those either...

[...But it's here somewhere? He's not entirely sure if Appa is a type of Pokemon or not, but as a Pokemon Connoisseur he certainly feels duty-bound to investigate!] If your friend Appa is here too, would it be okay for Pansage and I to meet him? He sounds very interesting! [The monkey nods in agreement with him--we wanna see the sky bison too!]

Of course! [He nods back at them.] He shouldn't be too far away - he wouldn't fly off without me. Just follow me! [And he sets off as he waves for them to follow.]

Alright! Please, lead the way! [Cilan (and Pansage) follow along behind Aang. True, he should be a little more focused on the task he had before, which was to find out if his brothers were here and anything else about the place (provided he wasn't just having an elaborate dream right now), but...well, he's really curious about this "Appa" creature, so it can't really hurt to check it out, right?]

[He moves along with a skip in his step in the direction of the house he'd woken up in. That was the last place he'd seen Appa.]

You're gonna love him!

[Cilan's not quite skipping, but he is doing his best to keep up with Aang's enthusiastic stride.]

Is that so? [It's nice to see that Aang appears to be fond of this companion of his--those are usually good qualities in most Pokemon Trainers back in Unova.] Well, Pansage and I certainly can't wait to meet him!

Great. Maybe I can make him come faster...

[Then he takes a very mighty-looking, airbending-enhanced breath. Which is immediately followed by a loud, airbending-enhanced yell.]

APPA!

[Cilan and Pansage both wince at the loud yell, moving their hands to cover their ears for a second.]

M--my, what a loud call that was. I'd even say it had a piercing taste... [Piercing to the eardrums, that is...]

Thanks! [It must be a compliment - right? He gives Cilan a cheery smile.

But soon there's a bellow being heard as the sky bison appears in the distance flying towards them.]

[It wasn't exactly a compli--what is that]

Is that your friend Appa? [Sorry, he needs a few seconds to stare because wow, we definitely don't recall seeing a Pokemon that looked like that where we're from. Pansage moves around to climb up Cilan a little higher from it's previous shoulder position, almost clinging to it's trainer's head now to get a better look at the approaching sky bison.]
