[He ends up just sort of freezing up, like someone who's heard that bears won't hurt you if you play dead or something. It takes his a good few seconds to take a breath and make words happen.]

I... I'm like, 900-ish? [Look, you'd lose track a little, too!]

The hair ruffling stops and Beat looks down at the stranger. 900 is like...a million times older than him.]

Yosh. [And with that she snags him by the wrist and starts dragging him out of the casino. It's okay, she won't eat you.]

[It has not yet struck Poland that this may be a weird thing for people to hear. He looks up at Beat, a little awkwardly.]

Well, I mean... I don't know exactly, 'cause that's a super long time, ok? I know I was baptized in like 966, but I actually kind of have no clue how old I was before that. So... yeah.

[She frowns, crosses her arms. Yeah, the location isn't doing her any favors either. She died here once.]

What's got you so worried about it?

[Horatio, too, counts cards. Without any knowledge that it's considered cheating. He has always had a head for knowing what has been played, and, when added to the playing rules of whist, keeping track of who must have what.

But he's always amicable enough when playing cards.]

[And isn't it terrible that the person you just lost all your chips to is this girl right here? Sure, she's sporting a long brown wig, but Nami's hardly hiding who she is, even if Jack didn't automatically recognise her.]

[She has no idea she accidentally cursed him, but a pirate's misery is a sweet thing to behold.]

She refuses to be nervous around a little kid, god. Nami shrugs, gesturing to the other side of the table. "It's a free chair, go ahead."

She'll just make her excuses and leave in a few minutes, or something.

[He gives Asami his own sly smile back.]

[Though she's not in a hammock. Nami's stretched out on a recliner chair. You know, the kind complete with a little umbrella and a table on the side from which she can have as many cocktails as she likes, and while there's a towel draped over the corner of the recliner, it's very clearly dry. She's here for the sunbathing and the view.

Law's arrival goes unremarked for a little while, though she lifts her sunglasses just a little at the newcomer before going back to her lazy relaxing. Hmm. She's kind of annoyed with him. Whether to bother with doing something about it or not, that's the question. It could possibly ruin her day.]

...she'd apologize to Loki later, even after the set-up, she could beat this smug jerk. And so she would. Rogue's face fell slightly, "No dessert?"

She put her cards on the table - flush. "And I was startin' to get so hungry."

Haha, there's that ninja personality coming out. Why'd you come in here then? Doesn't seem like your kind of place with an answer like that.

Loki considered his options, and decided he liked the idea of Rogue winning. He flipped his cards to reveal two pair, smiling. "I'm afraid I can't offer anything nearly so pretty. I hope the lady hasn't lost her appetite entirely."

[Just as Teddy's about to stumble away, he sees him. Huddling up between the buildings, shrinking away, and - oh, thank god, there he is, he's there, he's safe -

Teddy's running over before he even thinks about it, and he crouches down beside him, still holding his arms and digging his nails in like he's trying to get his skin off.]

Billy? [Or maybe it's to hide his shaking as well, seeing how his hand trembles as he reaches out to touch his shoulder.] B... you with me?

Ugh, unfair! Also any day I get to use this icon is a good day.

[What, no! How does that mean you need to pick him up? Poland doesn't approve!]

[He squirms, trying to get free, panicking a little too much to actually fight all that effectively.]

Oh my god, let me go! What do you mean, switch? I don't even know what a robot is!

[Okay, tiny squirmy, 900 year old, whatever you are; Beat puts him back down after a moment and stares at him.]

Laura wasn't certain why she was attempting to spend time with Logan, honestly. Not here, at least. Her idea of fun wasn't exactly normal, but it was certainly not sitting around gambling and drinking beer. At least some things didn't seem to be genetic. Even if he was the wrong Logan.

But she had tried, at least, sitting a bit off to the side, watching him gamble. She had thought about having a drink herself, without her healing factor she could actually see what it was like, but the thought of being glared at had put her off. Finally, she just tilted her chair forward.

"I am going for a walk," she said quietly. And then a beat. "Do you wish to come?"

October 29th!

[Laura's gaze follows the same person along his doomed trip into the wall, and then turns to see a young woman get squashed beneath a car...only to stand up, perfectly flat, and reinflate herself with a sucked in breath. Uh.]

I do not understand.

[Someone never watches looney toons.]

Logan should have probably been more concerned about Laura being bored out of her skull, but he naively had assumed she enjoyed this kind of thing as much as he did. He'd just finished hustling someone at pool and was counting his collection of tokens. He looked up to give Laura an eyebrow raise.

"Where ya headed?"
