[So, while Kohan's visiting the petting zoo, he may hear a chuckle from a voice that's all too familiar by now.

If he turns around, he'll see Riku facing him with a smirk.]

Ha, so I guess you really do have a soft spot.

[It's a light tease. After all, he's here too.]

[ Once he hears that chuckle, there's no way he's not turning around, if only because Kohan's hoping that Riku is chuckling at something else in this place which would potentially be perfect blackmail material come on now.

But yeah, he's gonna give a small glare and roll his eyes at that. ]

[Ion looks up when Kohan does, though more so because Riku is his friend and he's not going to just give him the cold shoulder here! Though somehow it only really occurs to him when he sees them side-by-side that he's never really been around the both of them at the same time before.]

Oh, hello Riku. [In perfect contrast to Kohan's glare, Ion is all smiles.] Actually, Kohan's always had a soft spot. He just hasn't been very good at expressing it.

Aw yeah, this is happenin'!

[Aww, don't be such a grump. As if summoned by Kohan's snark alone, Sonar pops up from behind Riku's back and hovers around Kohan's head with that same, goofy smile he usually wears. Riku's not even phased by Kohan's words, either, giving a light shrug before looking to Ion.]

Oh yeah? And how often does he even show it?

[Inquiring minds want to know. Frankly, Kohan could stand to show it a bit more often in Riku's opinion. He's hardly a ray of sunshine, after all.]

[ And now that glare is going to Ion for a moment. ]

[ ... And now he sounds like he's 13 years old. ]

[Ion is immune to Kohan's tsundere glare and just chuckles a bit.]

You say that as though it were something bad. Is there something wrong with having a soft spot for animals? I find it rather relaxing being here, myself.

[Yes, even after the whole cheagle incident before. Fire-breathing monsters are much more relaxing than those roller coasters in thrill land!]

[He jabs Kohan with his elbow as he says this.]

And you're right. It is relaxing, so I'd say it's good that he's here. Sometimes I worry that his face'll get stuck in a permanent scowl.

[Ion's not ganging up on him! But Riku's not exactly being malicious here. So Kohan's scowls seem a bit over the top.]

Perhaps you'd see him smile more often if you didn't tease him? He smiles plenty around me. [Nevermind that Ion is obviously a special case here.]

[He holds up a hand in mock-surrender.]

Kinda funny, though. Doesn't he live with... what's his name again? Ventus? You'd think he'd start rubbing off on him a bit.

[It was an interesting reversal, given he was much more used to the way Luke and Asch interacted with one another. Somehow, the situation here seems to be the opposite. Though the fact that there were hostilities at all just seemed a little sad...]

Now, now. Shouldn't you both try to get along? We're all here to enjoy ourselves after all, right?

[That might be directed just a biiiit more towards Kohan, though Riku's not exactly helping him to be less prickly.]

[His smile fades, and he heaves a little sigh, turning his gaze to Ion.]

But it's not something I can do on my own. I don't really mind playing nice, but he has to do at least a little work, too.

[After all, Kohan's... Kohan. Riku can't magically wave his hands and turn him into Sora 2.0.]

[ ... Though really it was Ion's observation that turned Kohan's mood from grumpy to slightly hostile but Ion clearly didn't do anything wrong which makes it Riku's fault. ]

[And now Ion is definitely looking at Kohan for this, a small frown on his face. Well, at least there's no question now as to why he's never seen these two around each other before.]

No one started anything. Please, calm down.

Yeah, it's not like I'm trying to threaten you or even start anything.

[To prove this point, Riku holds out his hands, as if to prove he's harmless.]

What am I gonna have to do to prove that?

... Hmph.

[ Kohan gives a small toss of his head and turns away from the two. Calming down might involve a good bit of posturing and huffing and being generally prickly. ]

[Ion sighs, looking to be at a bit of a loss as he turns back to Riku. Now would probably be a good time for steering the conversation away from Kohan for a little while. Perhaps this is something he should try bringing up when Riku isn't here to agitate Kohan... since apparently he just needs to exist in his general vicinity to do that.]

Perhaps that's just easier said than done in this case... I know the circumstances are rather different, but it wasn't until they'd both been in Luceti for quite awhile that Luke and Asch were able to become friends. They never got along well at all back on Auldrant.

Huh, really? But Luke always seemed so easygoing. Were things really that rough between them?

[Then again, from the few times Riku spoke to Asch, he did seem rather grouchy...]

[ Did we mention huffing and posturing? Because Kohan... isn't saying anything. Partially not to make anything worse, given that he's still kind of angry over here. ]

In truth, to say they didn't get along is something of an understatement. They were each on opposite sides of an on-going conflict in our world when they first met, and neither made a very good first impression on the other... though seeing as they first met only after Asch kidnapped me, perhaps that just couldn't be helped...

[Really, for all of Kohan's grumping, they could be getting along much, much worse.]
