Summary: So you remember all those times Luceti was transformed into Luceti Land? Welcome to Malnosso World, Luceti Land's bigger, cooler brother. Be sure to keep all hands inside the rides at all times, and refer to your map if you get lost. Trust me, you'll get lost.

The one that looks somewhat like Luceti, you mean? That could be a possibility, although I didn't examine the shops very closely while I was there. We could go see if they have some kind of gift store that might have souvenir clothing.

Oh, that's a good idea. We should probably hurry then.

The sooner we find a coat, the sooner we can come back and continue enjoying the rides.

[Yes, yes, let's hurry. Just grabbing Asbel's arm and practically dragging him away to make sure that happens.]

My training doesn't prepare me for getting dragged around!

For shame... I'll have to speak with the instructors at the Knight Academy about the fitness standards there. It seems they leave much to be desired...

So you want to tell the Knight Academy to prepare the new cadets for being randomly kidnapped by their king?

It is always a possibility. Aren't they supposed to be prepared for anything?

I'm not sure that's really the sort of thing they expect to have to prepare for.

All the more reason to prepare for the unexpected.

Well, I can't exactly benefit from any changes made to the training regiment anyway.

[That causes Richard to go quiet for a moment.]

Do you ever wonder how things would have turned out if you had become a knight?

[Asbel pauses for a moment, as he considers how to respond.]

Sometimes, I do wonder what things would have been like, but...

...I try not to think about it for long. I don't regret my decision, and I don't want to start regretting it.

[Richard just stares at him in the briefest moment of surprise before he smiles. Even now, sometimes it surprises him just how much Asbel has grown up.]

I think that's a wise way to approach things. The more we dwell on missed opportunities, the less we're able to look at what we do have. It would be a shame to let those things pass us by because of it.

[Asbel nods. Well, as well as he can while being dragged along by Richard.]

Yeah... I've learned that if I dwell on the past, then I won't be able to face forward and walk towards the future.

[Richard is surprisingly strong for someone so skinny, meaning that he's tugging with a considerable amount of force.]

What do you see in that future, Asbel?

[Asbel's pretty much just resigned himself to being dragged by Richard now, letting his legs slide across the ground. You're getting his nice white clothes all dirty, Richard. ):<]

I see a future of prosperity for our world, as long as we never give up on our efforts.

[ledbythewind]

[Too bad, Asbel. It's your fault for choosing to wear white in the first place, so deal with it. But he will ease up on the dragging just a little bit.]

I meant for you, not our entire world.

[drawnbythesword]

For... me? [He never really gave his own personal future much thought. He was always so absorbed in the past before, and once he started focusing on the future, he always thought more about the future of others, and the future of the world.]

I guess... I never really considered my own future. I'm still working on accepting my present.

Yes, for you. Surely you have goals you would like to achieve, or things you would like to do or see. They can't all be related to doing what is best for Lhant.

[Ironically, this is an incredibly hypocritical thing for Richard to be asking, because he's exactly the same way. The future of Windor is his future, as far as he's concerned. He doesn't have any personal goals of his own that aren't related to bettering things for his people and the people of Ephinea.]

Honestly? [He pauses for a moment, still being dragged along by Richard. Sure is taking a long time to walk there.]

As long as the people around me are happy, and I'm doing what's right? Then... That's all that really matters to me.
