Oho, so it was that game, then? Loki dropped effortlessly into a deliberately terrible mockery of Gambit's voice. "Bonjour cherie," he said. "Jus' lookin' for the prettiest lady around so I can turn her head with my charms."

Behind her mask, Rogue rolled her eyes at that mockery of Gambit's voice. She'd say she wished she knew why he really didn't like Gambit except she already did know, all too well. She still remembered that horrible conversation she'd had with him after Gambit showed up this time. Still, she wouldn't make a fuss about it, she'd just keep playing.

"And just how would you know who that is? After all, some of us are wearing masks." She tilted her head up and batted her eyelashes outrageously.

"Could jus' look in her eyes," he said, grinning, still keeping with the voice. "Or I got other tests."

[touchofrogue]

Rogue let herself lean back against him, giving a slight, flirtatious shift. "Oh? What kinds of tests, monsieur?"

[complicatedliar]

"Oh, readin', writin', spellin'... all sorts of tests."

[touchofrogue]

She arched her eyebrows, giving up her accent in the light of how strange that response was. "To tell if someone's pretty? You've got a funny way of tryin' to figure that out."

"Well, there is an easier way..."

[touchofrogue]

"Than spellin'? Thank Gawd."

[complicatedliar]

Loki gave her a wicked grin, then leaned in to kiss her.

[touchofrogue]

Rogue tilted her head back against his shoulder and kissed him back enthusiastically. When the kiss ended, she smiled up at him. "How'd I do?"

[complicatedliar]

"I think it's safe to say you're the prettiest," he said, grinning. "Flying colors."

[touchofrogue]

She grinned back at him, "I knew this mask had its benefits."

[complicatedliar]

"If you want one to hide your beauty entirely, next time you'd best cover your lips."

Silly words, but this was all in fun. And the sort of game he enjoyed playing in general, but moreso with his lover.

She lifted up a hand to tug his head down and give him a kiss again. "I could look into a ski mask," she murmured, smiling.

[complicatedliar]

"Then I'd just have to find something else to kiss that the mask didn't cover."

[touchofrogue]

Rogue laughed and lightly elbowed him in the process of turning around. She'd just bet he'd find something that the mask didn't cover. She brought her hands up to carefully adjust her paper mask. "Havin' fun?"

[complicatedliar]

He shrugged. "There are no games, no real dancing. I've been wandering about and poking people, but it's getting a bit boring now."

[touchofrogue]

"A little chilly too," she said, reaching to take his hand. "Though we could change the bit about the dancing. The droids are playin' the kind of music you could use to waltz."

[complicatedliar]

"If you'll dance with me, I'd be inclined to do that." He squeezed her hand, ready to lead her off to where the music could found.

[touchofrogue]

"Can't think of anyone else I'd like to dance with," she said with a smile. "Come on, it's this way."

[complicatedliar]

Loki grinned, gone from bored to in a very good mood indeed. He escorted Rogue over to space where they could dance. The music wasn't the best, but it didn't really matter, at that point. He was happy to lead her in a waltz or two.

Their good example was... completely not followed. It didn't really bother Rogue. After the second dance, she laughed and led Loki over to get something to warm drink. She was getting cold.

"I think I'm gettin' better," she said. She'd almost completely unstiffened by the end of the first song.

"I think you are as well," Loki smiled. "Just a bit of practice, yes? And I'll be happy to help you practice more, you know." He kissed her hand. "Still not warmed up, though?"

[touchofrogue]

"I don't mind practicin' with you. We could go back after this." She was safe when she danced with him. And he enjoyed it so much that she wanted to be able to share it with him. She smiled at him a little, still wearing her paper mask. "Maybe I should have gone for the ski mask instead."

Loki grinned. "I could always pretend..." He glanced around where they were going. "After what?"
