Maybe you wouldn't be able to talk if you had something else in your mouth? [...] You know, like if you were eating something. The food doesn't seem to be effected in the same way the drinks were?

[ Yeah if possible Kohan went another shade brighter at that first sentence there, but yes let's pursue avenues to deal with this. ]

Are you sure? You said the chocolate didn't seem do anything weird before, either. Maybe it's just the magic that happens when we're together.

[ If only he could cut himself off faster. It always seems like the words are out of his mouth before he even notices them. ]

[ ... Okay that line might have almost been not embarrassing but on top of everything else it's not doing Kohan's emotions any favors. ]

[...o-oh, that one was actually kind of cute. It's almost a little sad to think that the only reason Kohan is saying this stuff is because of the hot chocolate. Ion was fine with Kohan not being the most romantic guy out there, and he's always known that Kohan was never very good with words... but a part of him really did like hearing those kinds of sappy, romantic things. And after all, there wasn't anyone else he wanted to hear them from other than Kohan.]

Yes, it did. But I don't think I had quite as much as you, so the effects may take a little longer to wear off. Perhaps we should just find something quiet to do to pass the time until then?

[ Sorry, Ion, you got the wrong guy for romance. Cuddles are much easier than words. ]

...I-I meant like a book or something. I don't know if there would be any in here, but perhaps I could just read to you for a while?

[ Sob. When Kohan speaks again, it's a mumble more than anything else. ]

[And Ion will just get up and start looking around for something to read, yes! And hey, it looks like there's a few books on this shelf here, how about he just picks one up and see what it is and...]

[Well now that's just uncalled for.]

[SLAMS THE BOOK SHUT and just kind slips it back on the shelf. His face is very red when he turns back to Kohan.]

...maybe reading isn't such a good idea after all.

[He's just... gonna go sit on the bed again. Yep.]

While we wait, we could--I am going to say something that's not whatever I was just saying! [ He practically shouts the second half, hijacking whatever the hot chocolate was about to make him say.

Sob this is exhausting. ]

Do you think it would have the same effect if you were writing? At least then we'd be able to talk, right?

[Well! Thankfully Ion always has his journal on him, so he just takes that out and rips a blank page out, handing it and a pen to Kohan.]

[Surely he should be able to write just fine, right?]

[ Kohan takes it and stares at it for a moment, uncertain. Then he hesitantly writes down, ]

Testing?

[ ... Well, that went well enough. Holding it up so Ion can read. ]

...oh, it works! [One word may not be enough to really test if it'll hold or not, but it seems good enough for Ion!]

At least this way we won't have to sit here in complete silence until it wears off!

[ Kohan nods and writes on the page again. ]

Yeah. It's not much but it's come sort of conversation.

[ He holds it up again, not even noticing the Freudian slip just yet... ]

[Let's not forget now who he's "talking" to -- Ion's first thought is that it's just a simple spelling mistake, not even worth mentioning.]

Yes, thankfully it looks like that hot chocolate only affected your ability to talk normally. I don't think we'd be able to stay in here if it had affected you like it had affected me earlier... [Not without locking one of them in a closet or something until it wore off.]

[ Well it's only going to go downhill from here... ]

I guess it was good that I only tried the one. If I'd had both, we'd probably already be under the cover

Kohan stares at the page for a couple seconds, then heaves a sigh. ]

Well, maybe there's nothing wrong with just sitting in silence after all?

... We don't have to. I can just... I don't know. I can talk anyway if the other stuff doesn't bother you too much.

[He shakes his head.] It doesn't bother me, even if it is a little embarrassing... but I don't want to make you feel obligated to talk when it makes you feel uncomfortable saying things like that.

[Which kinda makes it seem like they're stuck, huh.]
