Rating: Varied. Anything frisky goes to appointments as per usual, chums.


Due to the size and variation of this event, it's probably best to have several logs for it to avoid one getting overcrowded and broken. Feel free to have your characters post their own entries, of course, if you'd prefer- you're more than welcome! This is for people who like to consolidate. Another log ought to be posted around the 16th for round 2.

[He doesn't even look up from the menu.] It's not just this restaurant, it's this whole place. Every shop. That's just how it is.

[Even though it's a pretty sweet deal, it doesn't wipe away his dubiousness completely. It doesn't change the fact that he's stuck here. But so far, aside from being just as boring as his hometown, it hasn't been bad - so he'll milk it for all it's worth while he can.]

[Still only half-looking over the menu. She doesn't know how to feel right now. But this boy doesn't seem to be going anywhere, and if she's going to be having a meal with him...]

Uh...sorry if what I said before was too harsh. It's just that I'm hungry, so I guess I got a little snappy. Don't mean to make you upset or anything.

[Looking over the menu a bit more genuinely, now.]

It did upset me, but... you didn't mean to.

[Good. Disaster averted. He just gives an exaggerated nod, tilting his menu up.]

Right, so what are you gonna order?

I... well, I don't really know yet. There's a lot of good choices... [Now that she's reading the menu thoroughly enough to know that, anyway.] I know you're just as new here, but have you been to this restaurant before? Maybe yesterday? I spent the whole first day I was here in the room I woke up in...

[Yes, that implies what one may think it does--this kid really should eat. Maybe some soup or something.]

You didn't leave at all? Didn't you eat anything? [Although, he can guess the answer to that.]

...no... not really. [She looks up at him nervously.] But it's okay. I didn't really want to leave where I was.

Who the hell wants to stay inside all day? I get you were scared, 'cause you're just a kid, but you could've at least gone to look for help.

[She's silent for a long moment before she speaks up again:]

I... I didn't want help.

Huh?

But you needed it. [What is up with this kid?]

It didn't matter to me. [She looks down at the table.] ...nothing did.

[Oh crap, oh crap... What is he supposed to do?]

Hey...I know you probably miss your mom and dad, but moping about it isn't gonna change anything. It ain't too bad here, so just try to enjoy it while you can. [This is his legitimate attempt at uplifting words, sad to say.]

...they won't be there when I go home, either.

[She understands Jean is trying to help, but this is still weighing on her.]

My mother and father... they died, right before I came here. That's why I thought... maybe this was Heaven, and they would be here.

...Hate to break it to you, but this ain't heaven. I know I sure as hell didn't die.
