Due to the size and variation of this event, it's probably best to have several logs for it to avoid one getting overcrowded and broken. Feel free to have your characters post their own entries, of course, if you'd prefer- you're more than welcome! This is for people who like to consolidate. Another log ought to be posted around the 16th for round 2.

[ And for Raine, water is wet and that's just no good. It's one thing when she can see where it's coming from, but surprise children splashing around in puddles is really the last thing she expects.

So she jumps back, of course... landing right into another large puddle with a splash of her own. ]

Ah--? Who's there?

[He jumps as well, though at her voice rather than the splash itself, letting loose a happy, childish screech at suddenly getting wet again. He looks up to find the source of the voice, squinting at her beneath his hood.]

...Ah! Sorry, sorry! Did I get you wet?

[wise_maiden]

[ A little hooded boy all in red. Hmmm. Well, it was that time... time to play guess the resident, though that usually wasn't difficult. ]

A little, though I did the rest of the job myself. [ Haha. Now she carefully steps out of that second puddle, not that the rest of the ground is much drier in this weather. ] You seem to be enjoying yourself.

[babyhands]

Uh-huh.

[He moves away a bit, out of safe-splashing range to avoid repeating his mistake, and pounces in another puddle, keeping her in his peripheral on and off so he's not too rude. She's still talking to him, after all.]

Mom doesn't let me do this at home, she hates mud on the carpet. But nobody cares if I do it here.

I'm sure she wouldn't mind as long as you took your boots off before you went into the house. Is there someone you're staying with here?

[babyhands]

[Another stomp, another splash. Thankfully there seems to be no shortage of puddles around here, thanks to the steady rain.]

Mm... Teddy's taking care of me.

[Aw, now he's gone and reminded himself that his parents aren't here to do that.]

[She's glad that he's being courteous enough to stay out of her range with those splashes. Teddy, though... well that about nails the confirmation of his identity. ]

I'm glad to hear that. He's very kind, so I'm sure he'll do his best until you're sent back. [ Was that how it was explained to him? She hopes so. ]

[babyhands]

Yeah! Teddy's nice. He lets me ride on his shoulders. And it's not so bad here. I get to be an alien.

[Which is weird, but it's pretty normal in his world anyway, so whatever.]

To be fair, everyone is an alien here. [ She's not too familiar with that terminology, but she's been in Luceti long enough to get the concept. It's not like her world hadn't had a degree of worldhopping to it. ] But I bet it's a lot different from what you're used to, huh?

[babyhands]

Really different. Nothing's the same at all! The buildings are tiny and the people are nice and everything's slow and quiet.

[He straightens up to get a proper look at her; even through the rain, he can tell that she's not old, but her hair is like an old lady's. He's never seen that before, except for Storm from the X-Men. Maybe she's a mutant.]

My home's huge, with buildings up to the sky, and nobody stops for anything. Daddy says everyone's too busy to even think.

[wise_maiden]

Sounds like a big city. A lot more people, a lot more things to do... so they're always hurrying from one task to the next. [ She shakes her head a little. ] I'm used to the smaller towns, myself. Even some of the apartment buildings here are much taller than the houses I usually see.

[babyhands]

I bet you'd get lost in New York, then. The buildings go right up into the sky there!

[He lifts his hands up over his head, as high as he can reach, as if that could present an accurate picture of the grand buildings he's used to.]

[wise_maiden]

Probably. [ She nods to his example. ] It sounds fascinating, though. All of the work that must have went into planning that architecture. And all those lights, at night... it must really be something.

[babyhands]

Uh-huh. It's the city that never sleeps. Everybody who visits says that, but it's kind of silly. I have to sleep every single night, and so does everyone else I know.

[wise_maiden]

Maybe it was outsiders to the city that began calling it that, because it always seems so busy. Only those who have lived there would know the truth.

[babyhands]

Mm... it's still busy, though. That part's true.

[He goes back to puddle-stomping, determined to multi-task. No way of knowing when she'll turn into a regular grown-up and make him stop or something.]

Everything's big and loud and bright. That's why we live so high up- so we can sleep without all the traffic noises.

[wise_maiden]

[ He's dressed appropriately for the stomping, and it's not raining too hard, and he's not splashing her anymore. So Raine has no reason to rain on his fun for now. ]

Really? How high up do you live?

[babyhands]

[He's just happy to be playing and that he gets to impress someone with his cool home. He hasn't even gotten to the part with super heroes yet!]

We live on the 16th floor. That's two times bigger than anything here. An' it's not the highest floor, either.

[wise_maiden]

[ Those apartments already seemed high to her, and despite seeing some of the Malnosso cities and grand hotels with higher floors, it's always something to hear of people willingly living at such a high level. ]

Oh? How high does the building go? Does it give you a view of anything interesting?

[babyhands]

I think the top floor is, um... 20? I've never been up that high but the elevator has lots of buttons. We don't see much out the window but other buildings, though. And the road, but it's tiny-tiny.

[wise_maiden]

Maybe someday you'll have the chance. Though I guess it won't be too much different from what you're already able to see. Has there been anything around here that you've found fun? Besides those puddles.

[babyhands]

Uh-huh!

[His enthusiasm is back in full force, and he spins around, hopping on one foot to make the water spray in every direction.]

Teddy has wings! He took me flying, and I got to see the whole village from way up high!

[wise_maiden]

[ There's something in that statement that's just a tad confusing... but if it doesn't bother the boy, there's no need to confuse him further. ]

That sounds like it was very exciting. How did it look, from a bird's eye-view?

[babyhands]

Kinda like home, only way smaller. And people look like bugs, except with less legs. ...So I guess just like tiny people.

Sounds fair. Although, you don't usually see this much grass and trees around, do you?
