Due to the size and variation of this event, it's probably best to have several logs for it to avoid one getting overcrowded and broken. Feel free to have your characters post their own entries, of course, if you'd prefer- you're more than welcome! This is for people who like to consolidate. Another log ought to be posted around the 16th for round 2.

Stop! [This flesh may be different but his spirit and protective instincts are unchanged, galvanizing him. His mind moves lightyears faster than his body - and all he knows as he lunges into range and sees his arm - her arm - shoot out in an effort to intercept Beat's fist is that he doesn't want to throw a punch of his own unless he has to. Maybe he can catch Beat by the wrist...]

[starpunching]

[While trying to avoid Beat's fists, Pilouette is distracted and it's almost like time slows when Mac springs forward. It's a little surreal seeing and hearing herself, or rather her body, charging forward to physically protect someone else. She slips and lands on her backside, flinching instinctively as her focus shifts back to Beat and his intent on punching "Mac" in the head.]

[skaterbrain]

What tha-- [He hadn't expected Pils to run so quickly or to protect the guy who had just been putting his hands down her shirt, but there was a hand on his wrist suddenly. He jerked it forward, but it lost momentum and he swung around.] Dude, what're you doin'?

[boxheur]

Listen... [He keeps his grip firm, enough to demand attention but not to hurt.] ...That's Pils in there, okay? Somethin' happened an' we woke up all mixed up. [Carefully, he lets go, his concerned albeit determined gaze never leaving Beat's.] Y'don' gotta hit nobody.

[starpunching]

[Pilouette lets out a long breath and shakily stands. She can certainly appreciate what Beat was doing; after all, she can only imagine how it looked. However, she nods in agreement with Mac, nervously threading her fingers together out of habit.]

Y-Yeah, see? It's...It's been kind of weird, you know? [She still can't help but feel a little bad for the confusion, though.] Uh...s-sorry...

[skaterbrain]

Tha's... what?

[He's lost his steam amid the confusion now. Why would Pils look like a dude? And why would someone else look like Pils? What the hell was going on?

Wait no, he doesn't want it explained because it'll probably just confuse him more. He just has to check and make sure, so he clamps a hand over the false Pils' mouth and looks at the boy!Pils and narrows his eyes.]

So tell me somethin' only she'd know, huh?

[boxheur]

Hey! Mmf--! [The last thing he expects is a hand slapped over his mouth - and while he won't bite, he'll be trying to claw it off. If you want him to hush up just say so, gosh.]

[starpunching]

[Pilouette blinks in surprise. Well. She takes a moment to try and think of something to tell him, but...she doesn't really know him that well and she's not sure how much he knows about her, either.]

Um, I'm like, not trying to argue or whatever but...even if I said something like, really weird, how would you know if I'm the only one that knows it?

[skaterbrain]

[Crap, he didn't think of that. But well, if he didn't think of it, neither would an imposter! So obviously that has to be the real Pils in there since she's a pretty smart girl, right?

...

Beat pulls his hand away, giving the other Pils a look of offense. His hand wasn't that bad!! He thinks. He actually has no idea. Beat scratches his head.]

Guess you're right. [He shrugs.] But I guess if I ain't gonna know the truth then some poser wouldn't know neither so you gotta be you.

...Or not you.

... [He looks from one to the other and frowns.] Who th' hell are you now anyway?

[boxheur]

[And he shoots him a reproachful look in turn.]

I'm Mac. [He's just hoping he won't be silenced again.] ...that's my body she's stuck in. [A blush creeps up his neck and he realizes there's no escaping having to admit it. Ideally he won't have to again when dealing with someone else.]

[starpunching]

[Pilouette shifts her own gaze away, off to the side, crossing her arms.]

Yeah, it's like, um...k-kind of a lot to deal with, you know? Like Mac said before, we just kind of woke up this way! Some kind of weird shift, I guess...

[skaterbrain]

[Mac was Pils and Pils was Mac. ...That was not going to be easy to get used to. He stared from one to the other and then frowned.]

Maybe if we knocked yo' heads togetha' it'd send you back.

[boxheur]

[Blinking, he looks to Beat with all sorts of uncertainty, waiting for the remark to be revealed as just a bad joke. But when nothing comes, he's left wondering if there might actually be some hope in taking the suggestion. He's a desperate man.

Or, this whole affair might just end up resulting in an even bigger headache.]

I ain't too sure about that... [He rubs at his neck, offering Pils a helpless look] ...Anybody you know ever got switched around with somebody else?

[starpunching]

[It would be a lie to say that Pilouette hadn't momentarily considered Beat's suggestion a legitimate option. After all, it works in the movies, right? However, if shifts could be reversed that easily, she assumes they wouldn't be suffering so much embarrassment now. She can't help but sigh.]

I don't think so. Then again, how would I even know? With the way stuff happens around here...[It hasn't occurred to her until just now, but...] ...This kind of thing could probably happen all the time and we would like, never even know it.

[skaterbrain]

Uh...no?

[He had to think back on things, but he couldn't remember right off the top of his head. Maybe someone had, but would he have noticed? He hadn't known that Pils had switched with Muscles over there after all. Beat scratched his head.]

Least I don't think so? But ain't that supposed to be what puts people back to normal in movies?

Can't say I've ever seen a movie like that. [He scratches his head.] But, y'know... if things ain't back t'normal by tomorrow, maybe I'm gonna have to take you up on tryin'.

[starpunching]

Same here. [Pilouette frowns, tilting her head to the side.] Still, I'm like, kind of more concerned about what we're supposed to do in the meantime, you know?

[skaterbrain]

You ain't seen good movies then.

And I dunno what you're supposed to do, but don't go stickin' yo' hands down her shirt again. People'll get the wrong idea and I might hafta punch you anyway.

[boxheur]

[Flusteredly, and in protest:]

She was jus' tryin' to--! [His mouth snaps shut before long. Don't make him have to say what Pils was up to, man.]

[starpunching]

[Pilouette is similarly silent for a moment, taking a brief glance at Mac. If he didn't want to say it, she figures she probably shouldn't either. Still, the last thing she wants is Beat punching her in the face (or would that be punching her in Mac's face...?) should the situation arise again. As she thinks up something to say, Pilouette reaches up to play with her hair before remembering, oh right, short hair.

As she slowly begins to speak, she settles for fiddling with the hem of the hoodie she's wearing.]

W-Well, even if someone else is in it right now, it's really my body, isn't it? A-And, um, when we're like this, we can't exactly keep an eye on ourselves all the time like we normally can, right?! We were making sure everything was okay, you know? I-I mean, you never know when it comes to stuff like this...!

[Pilouette, of course, is lying. She's obviously lying. She is probably among the worst liars in Luceti. But she's at least trying really hard.]

[skaterbrain]

Then I'd have t' wait 'til he's back in that body and slug 'em. Either way, don't go shovin' your hands down a girl's shirt, bro-- Girl. Pils, whatever. Look, jus' don't do it, aight? People ain't gonna know you're you and he's him, but they sure as hell're gonna see him tryin' to perv on you.

[He thinks, rubbing his head.]

This is confusin'. Why'd you need to make sure everything was okay? It ain't like he's gonna die in yo' body. Unless you got some kind allergency.

[boxheur]

[It doesn't matter what body he's in -- his hangdog expression admits to every lie before he even has the chance to attempt a lie in the first place.]

I don', it's jus'... [He slumps a little, rubbing at his neck. Stop putting him on the spot, dude; it's cruel and unusual punishment.]

Everythin's cool now, at least.

[starpunching]

As cool as it's going to get, anyway. I guess we'll have to like, try and deal.

[She glances at Mac and frowns. This whole situation is decidedly very uncool. However, she figures she should at least try to be positive, right? Perhaps that will make it a little easier to deal. She does her best to smile, looking back and forth between Mac and Beat as she speaks, though her expression is pretty strained.]

M-Maybe this won't last very long...I mean, with the kind of stuff that goes on here, what ever does r-right? I, um, I-I bet it'll be just fine!

[skaterbrain]

...If it's cool, then how come you guys look like someone just kicked yo' dogs?

[He does not understand this whole "Say one thing, mean another" bit.

Beat scratches his head again and shrugs.]

But yeah...guess it can't last forever. And I can always smash yo' heads together if it does, yo. [He smiles.] Prove my movie idea.

[boxheur]

[You know, smash is an intense word and shouldn't be applied to heads or skulls or anything of the sort. He'd rather like it in one piece.]
