Who: OPEN to all!
What: Movies, movies, movies! And games and food too.
When: All day Saturday, June 7th (starts 11ish)
Where: Rec Center
Summary: Ginia throws a movie marathon at the rec center for entertainment and post-draft distractions.
Rating: PG-13 for some of the movies shown, but let's keep it around here or lower.

On Thursday, flyers were posted around the village with another notification of the movie marathon and the list of movies that will be shown:

The Sword in the Stone
Grease
Robin Hood: Men in Tights
Moulin Rouge
The Princess Bride
Jurassic Park
Clue
Rocky Horror Picture Show

Come Saturday, the list can also be found outside the rec center. Inside the center, there are tables set up filled with food: fruit and veggie platters, cookies and cake from the bakery, sandwiches, packages of popcorn (with a microwave nearby), and an assortment of packaged candy. As food begins running low, runners will be sent to the stores to bring back more. There are also drinks - water, sodas, juices, tea, and coffee. Alcohol is bring your own, but Ginia also has a small table set aside with some gin, whisky, vodka, and mixers.

Besides what seating is already in the rec center, additional chairs, large cushions, and even two beanbag chairs have been brought in. For those who want to hang out but not watch movies, there's still pool, board games, and a few deck of cards.

Enjoy, relax, and try not to think about the draft.

[Talk between them pretty much carried on in the same poor one liner comments, a playful game of trying to cause a crack in each others well practiced shell, and pretty much making the rest of the movie unwatchable to either. As the credits rolled it acted as a prompt to move away from those that were actually trying to pay attention to the screen, moving to the refreshments instead. And also hopefully a change of pace to the conversation and the bizarre chicken game they had happening.]

Ok then, what movies would ya had lined up tonight if ya were runnin' this?

Me? Oh geeze. 'A League of their Own'. 'Bend It Like Beckham,' maybe. 'Momento'. 'Billy Elliot'. [Jean has a type, apparently, speaking as she pours herself a soda, then holds up the bottle as if to ask Remy if he'd like a glass.] What about you?

[Remy shouldn't be surprised.] Leave this much space. [Holding his fingers apart to indicate for Jean how much to pour, while he thought about his own list.]

Let's see... I do 'pprove of some of those on tonight, mais lets add Jaws, Airplane, Matrix, some Indiana Jones. Ya know, seems weird to be listin' ones when there be a chance someone from them might just show up here one day.

[She easily fills the glass, leaving the requested space.]

Jaws, really? Why Jaws? Not that there's anything wrong with it, it's a classic, but...

To terrorize those who donno how movies 'nd stuff work? May as well try 'nd traumatize those that hadn't seen it before.

[Taking the glass once semi-filled, Remy helped himself to the alcohol provided, topping up his drink.

[Jean raises an eyebrow at his liquor pour. Not like she didn't think that's where this was going, but benefit of the doubt and all.]

Didn't you once say booze doesn't effect you?

Get 'nough into me 'nd it will. I just take bit more to get pushed over the edge than most.

[Remy raised his own brows at her look.] Quoi? Ya sayin' I shouldn't?

Noo, I would never tell you what to do. Just wondering why you are.

Because I can. [Simple as that.]

Question should be more why do I smoke, that 'least ain't good for me.

I was under the impression we weren't quite good enough friends for me to get on your case about that. [She smirked. Because yeah, totally gross, Remy. But also: your choice.]

Lets go with that, better than any reasonin' I could give.

Ya 'ny closer to gettin' that team 'gether for basketball? [Keeping in mind they did just have a rather large distraction from everyday life in Luceti.]

Unfortunately, no. There's only one or two people who play with any regularity, so it looks like I'm stuck with one-on-one for a bit longer.

Can't 'xpect all the worlds to know 'bout it I guess. [Remy paused to sip at his mixed drink.]

Maybe an educational video, '50s style or something.

Hah! That could be fun to make! If we had the equipment to make it with. Do we have the equipment to make it with?

No clue, depends what shows up in the item store, hein? Might be able to do something 'long that lines with the Battle Dome. Holographic recordin' or some merde.

I bet you're right. I've been able to program all sorts of things into that place; Kurt, even more so. It's quite the bit of technology, considering they don't really give us much else.

[Grabbing a sandwich from a food tray, Remy inclined his head towards some of the seating away from the movie screen, a suggestion for them to take a seat while talking.] 'ssume ya'll have practice from back home. Or did Wolvie 'nd Xavier make up all ya simulations?

[Jean heads towards the seating Remy indicated, taking her drink along with her.]

They did some. You really want to stay out of Logan's runs, though. Ororo did a few. Mostly, though... [Oh. Right. There's that look in her eyes again, as she remembers.] Scott did most of them.

Couldn't be that bad, could they? [Remy quizzed her as he took a seat, chewing on a bite of the sandwich.]

[As her tone shifted, Remy focused on her face.] I know ya miss him cherie, but he be back home. So... semi safe.
