There's supposed to be some life lesson you learn as a kid about bridges...

Well fortunately for us, I sort of get the feeling Zompania's on the edge of a tundra. No big things here to bridge over.

[Shikamaru hums at that and, with no pockets in these hazmat suits to stuff his hands in, folds them behind his neck instead. Truth be told, that's the only thing that really bothers him about the suits but oh well. They'll be gone tomorrow.

Keeping his ears pricked for the sounds of any animals out here he continues to wander about, stopping every now and then to examine the trees.]

[ He won't as where they're going - he can think of one or three locations. Apparently, Davis and his fellows died out here somewhere, sacrificed in order to allow them time for their "victory" - it's possibly Shikamaru intends to see if there's anything left at that sight. Or anything left at the place where the cultists had a base. Or anything left in the ruins of crashed airships. Who knows, it could be any of none of those. For his part, he's actually mildly curious which one it'll be. Or maybe it's just none of them, and something totally random.

[It gets darker the further they get from the camp, and while he could find his way in that just fine (it's his element, so to speak), he knows Masaomi won't be able to see as well. Once they get further into the thick of it, he unzips his suit just enough to pull out a flashlight, than pulls it back up. The beam switches on, cutting a clearer path for them ahead.]

How's the suit working for Linda?

It's limiting her Iron Tail, which is the biggest problem. She can't really make a blade if she's protecting herself.

[ So the demolition is held back just a bit. Not overly so, but enough that it's been bugging her. A sentiment she would return if not for the fact that she's in her ball at the moment ]

Maa that would be troublesome. And making electricity's no better?

No, that's better than you'd expect. The material must not be retardant or conductive, but then... it's meant for Shifts, so who knows. Apparently, she's just been zapping herself a little in the process.

That's lucky. If Iron Tails are too much of a pain, you could just take her to other areas. Though I guess it doesn't matter much, now that we're nearly finished.

Yeah, we're just closing in on putting up that monument, right?

Who's even going to see a monument, out here? Wherever here even is.

Who knows. Not everyone lives in a bubble, and some of these guys were MSF. If they had any loved ones, some of them might fly out to see it.

Think they'd actually be allowed to, though? It'd be a resource drain to run a barrier over nothing but a monument.

[ the unspoken implication here if, of course "Will they make a new enclosure here" ]

Doesn't mean it'll be the only thing here forever. Especially in a long-lasting world, such as this one.

[Wouldn't even have to be a new enclosure. They've been to science bases, cities, and resorts after all.]

Yeah, but parts of it have clearly been abandoned before. Is this thing just going to sit here all that time?

Maybe it's just me being Japanese, but a grave that can't be visited strikes me as a grave which might as well not exist.

Like I said, it's unlikely to be that way forever. They wouldn't have us bother if we could be working in Pagoda otherwise.

Pagoda isn't dead. Zompania is dead.

[ He inhales sharply here, shifting his weight a bit ] Or at least, I can't imagine it's more dead than this. Or Vaskoth.

[Shikamaru glances at Masaomi from over his shoulder but decides to drop it. There's no sense in hammering in a point that's only a fraction of the problem; a point that will be ignored in the face of the rest of it.]

[ It just feels weird to him. Not to mention that they were going to end up not being remembered soon enough. But... yeah whatever ]

So you think there'll be another "Zompania?"

Or something else that starts with a "z", going by their theme. [He steps over something mushy, giving a cursory check to make sure it's not people, and keeps going.] Maybe not here, but probably within the area...

I don't know what they'll do with this place. I somewhat expect they'll make something else out of it.

Mmm. I don't see them using this space again, honestly. At least until a whole generations run their time. [ But then, that's a weird thing to consider. He shrugs a bit, glancing down at his feetc]

As long as some of them have been here, it's just an eventuality to me.
