Where: Zompania, or what's left of it
Summary: Mission detailed here. There are graves to dig and buildings to raze, and plenty more for the volunteers to stay busy with.

We don't get paid anything.

I can't really burn anything with fire unless they have a blow torch handy. I've got some light spells that can actually do some damage. Very direct.

Yeah? What kind of level are we talking, here?

[He rubs the back of his neck.] But enough to help bring a building down if I do it enough.

Heh, I don't know if I'd call that low. [He's just trying to determine the fastest way they can pull this off together.]

But okay, how's this sound. When we get in and determine the structural weaknesses, we'll have you work on the areas that are still fortified. You put a dent in those, and then all we have to do is give one big push to bring the whole thing down.

[Isamu is definitely not above making things easier on himself.]

A lot of these places probably only need a good push as is.

[He'd roll up his sleeves for this, but their current outfits make this impossible. The buildings get a thorough glance over as they approach them.]

You any good at this sort of thing? Knowing which spots are weaker than others? Or I guess that's a dumb question, seeing as you're a ninja and all.

Oh yeah. We ninjas are big into the contracting business.

[--actually the Konoha ninja kinda are, given how many times they've had to rebuild their village in the past five years. But. That's besides the point.]

Hey, I don't know this shit! I thought you were supposed to have like... special senses or whatev-you know what forget it. Let's just do this thing.

[Isamu pulls a supply pack off his back and begins digging through it.]

Shikamaru leaves him to do that and moves further in, testing the stairs experimentally.]

[A bunch of random tools are dumped out of the bag haphazardly. Hell if he knows which ones they actually need to use.]

There. Anything useful?

[The first stair creaks, when he pushes the heel of his foot lightly against it. He'll hold off from going up there then.]

Got a... Hm. What was it called... Rebar locator? [He thinks that's it but isn't sure, so snaps his fingers.] It's like a handheld metal detector.

[He thought that was one of the tools described earlier anyhow.]

A what now?

[As if Isamu has ever worked with building construction. Or even putting up a painting. He looks over the items to see if anything looks like it might be a locator of anything and ends up handing over a small rectangular box with a screen.]

I think so. [He steps over to take it from Isamu with a nod of thanks, then to the nearest wall while working out how to turn the thing on.]

The way this building looked to be leaning when we came in, I figure not all of the beams supporting the walls are straight anymore.

Well there's the easy solution. We just need the Big Bad Wolf to come and blow on the opposite side to make this thing tumble over easy.

[He's not even sure if that one was lame or not. Eh.]

[It sounds like a joke Masaomi would make, if only because it involves a reference he wouldn't know. Shikamaru smirks at it anyways, and takes the device along the walls. As he determines weak spots, he takes out a thick, black marker and draws over the rubble and plaster.]

'X' marks the spot.

[He might not be able to roll up his sleeves, but he can still crack his knuckles, which he does now.]

You aren't allowed to laugh, though. Just so we're clear. I can zap you too.

[After he says this, a few solid rays of light strike from out of nowhere and hit the first of the markings, burning through the material.]

[Pfft. He's too busy being impressed to laugh.]

That isn't Hyt, is it?

[He pats a hand to his chest.] It's symbology. I'd show you my tattoos, but I'm all covered up.

... Apparently I work real well with the light element for some reason. Don't ask me why.

[He's really interested in knowing how that works, but he should be one to talk. In the realm of possible things, he can stab things with his shadow, after all.]

So long as it gets the job done, I'm not fussed. [And it's kind of neat meeting someone with the opposite skillset from him. Not that he thought of light and shadows being such opposites until coming to Luceti.] How well will these hold until we can get out for the big shove?

[He aims for another X, a few rays shooting out from who knew where.]

[OH THAT'S REASSURING.]

Good. I suggest we dash for the door when it starts to shake, then.

That isn't vague or anything.

[Nevertheless he goes to where Isamu dumped their other supplied on the floor, and gathers them back up. Best not to wait until later.]

Let's go the minute you finish then, if that doesn't happen sooner.

[He hastens his pace when it comes to summoning the light beams, a process that starts to drain him a little before he's done. He still hasn't built up much of a mana pool, so to speak.]

Alright. Move it.

[When the last X is hit, there's an ominous creaking noise. The building might not be ready to fall right on top of them yet, but it's a good time to be moving outside.]
