When: September 17th-25thish (17, 18, 22-25 are class days; others can be used for clubs or tutoring or hanging out and the like if you want)
(Classes run from 9 AM-roughly 2:30 PM, and the log can include before and after-school activities)
Where: The school! (someday there'll be a cohesive layout for this)
Summary: The new year of school is finally underway, with testing, a look into classes, and general interaction for all involved.

[As mentioned here, it's the start of a fresh term!

For some sense of guidelines, the morning of the 17th (Wed!) will be filled with testing and review, for new students and returning students alike, until the lunch break. (And if anyone misses the initial testing, they can always take it at another time! Very handwaveable, that.)

Students can chat before they begin or after they finish, but they will be penalized for during. There will be baked goods and lemonade as a treat during the lunch period and after school. (If they need more time for the tests, they won't be allowed to leave the room with the others, though snacks will be made available for them as well.) Newer students can request a tour (if they hadn't received one already).

The playground is always open for after school or lunch break interactions.

The other classes - Art/Music, Magic, and World Sharing - will continue on as usual, and will be similar through the week. Magic will start off with questions about progress during the break for those pursuing interest in the spirits, and demonstrations, as well as a chance to compare the concept between worlds for the newer arrivals. World Sharing will allow students to show off locations in the battle dome, either ones previously viewed or new ones they want to introduce.

The other days will follow the usual schedule!

You're not limited to the headers! Just do what you want--these are just some suggestions as to what's going on, but they aren't the be-all-and-end-all of what can be played with! Chat with each other, set up things! And by all means play with the current ongoing shifts! It's meant to be for CR!]

[For Wednesday (17th) and those scheduled for any day after. For those who want before and after test interactions, if they haven't already been pre-arranged! Extra scrap paper will be supplied, as well as extra pencils, though returning students should know better to have their own ready. Review tests are different from the standard assessment tests and will be graded accordingly.]

[Raine will probably remember the scarred young man from the flower shop who was also asking her about school. Apparently Zuko is still interested, because he shows up for testing.

[Raine should remember the girl she spoke to privately, on the journals. She's as ready as she'll ever be for the test, but of course she's worried. She knows she's smarter than she used to be, but not Daria-smart...]

[Kai is so not impressed with this place actually he is, and is only here because he has nothing better to do. And he might be sticking as close to people he knows as he can. After Wan's kidnapping, he was more than a little freaked out about being alone.]

Yeah, so, I'm here.

[The testing process itself takes Rudy a while - a long while to go through. Aside from that shift the other day, it was his first actual exposure to a school setting. That is, as himself. He never quite had the time (or money) for school back home, and most things he either learned from his grandfather or on his own after his grandfather passed away.

Some of the questions come surprisingly easy. Others he seems to stare intently at, his posture as well as grip growing more and more rigid and increasingly restless. There's no doubt he was going to fail this - he had his reservations before, and the shifted events from "college" did little to prove those fears. Perhaps he just wasn't meant for school.

Eventually, with a sigh, he turns in the paper. He's not expecting to get spectacular grades.]

[Tests... the one thing she didn't miss one bit. If anything had to do with math or science, she was doomed. Never the less, Minako taken her time (with her own set of Hello Kitty pencils and accessories ♥). Any questions she was stuck with, she simply guessed. Sometimes she was lucky and others well... not so lucky. After she was done, Minako walked up and turned in her paper with a polite bowed head.]

[Naoto had not directly inquired about the school, but rather, had heard about it through word of mouth.]

[She arrives early, and takes little time before handing it in, but opts to stay anyway. While she still wasn't entirely sure that this was the best use of her time here, it was most likely the fastest way for her to learn about Luceti and the other worlds.]

Sophie will look grumpy before the test, grumpy during the test, but fortunately her mood will improve greatly once it's done (and she has snacks in hand).]

Returning students, did you do your summer reading? What's that, there was a draft and you forgot all about it? An owl took your book? Never fret, there are always other assignments to make up for it.

But at least try to have that essay ready before the end of next week.

Feel free to partner up in groups for continued work on your plays, however. Just try not to be caught sleeping or passing inappropriate notes around.]

A ghost from the past seemed to sprinkle in a little reminder that puzzles and mathematics go hand in hand.

The puzzles range from word problems to algebraic and logic ones for the more advanced students. Or something like this or this, or perhaps there's a jenga game set to calculate, or guessing games with marbles... the possibilities are there. ]

[There's a small part of Anise that's grateful to finally be able to go to a normal school, but there's a much larger part of her that's still a 14-year-old child stuck in a math class.]

You know the really fun thing about those whacky time shifts and their affects on the environment? If you catch something in action, it sure makes for fun observation.

Such as the example of an overgrowing plant. Raine's had her hands full of these at the flower shop.

Students of course are encouraged to talk about their own observations and experiences. Sure, it's inconvenient, but if it can be studied, then might as well make use of it...!]

[Sophie is no expert, but after spending enough time around Grune, she's pretty sure plants aren't supposed to look like that. At the moment, she's just prodding at it with her fingers and feeling the leaves; she could really do with a hand.]

[ You know what might be cool, if Rin talked about all of Shiemi's plants he's still got a lot of and what's been up with them! He could tell some cool stories and be helpful to the class!

... The problem is that he's asleep!

... He's only here two days a week at the moment because of his training and while he's been working to keep up on the homework, it's sort of... reflected in him being even more prone to nodding off than usual ]

Have a seat, relax, talk about your day so far with your friends, talk to someone new, either bring your own lunch or take from some of the provided food (which are mostly supplied from the convenience store) which are basically sandwiches, rice balls, cookies from the bakery, etc. And bottled juices and water. Or lemonade and cookies, if it's the testing day.]

[Aang had settled down near the playground for lunch, with a simple veggie sandwhich. During the first half of the lunch break, everything seems to be normal. It's the time for more casual conversation.

But after that, something red-and-orange flits in the corner of Aang's eye. He's not sure if he actually hears that oh so familiar laughter or if it's just being imagined to fit the child running across the playground. It's Ikki.]

Ikki! [He'll cry out and run in an attempt to catch her in a hug in unbelievable joy. But his arms scoop around empty air, and he's left kneeling on the ground in stunned silence.]

[ Mondays and Wednesdays!

They're usually meant as a relaxing class, though sometimes there are loose themes.

For now, those attending are "randomly assigned" partners and then are told to draw a portrait of them. There can be multiple ones in different styles, depending on mood or variation. They can take turns alternating between drawing and posing.

Talking and commentary is expected, but rudeness isn't tolerated. ]

[Tuesdays and Thursdays - Jack Vessalius is the lone teacher, and he specializes in piano. Though that shouldn't keep students from trying out other instruments, either...]

[Thanks to insistence and encouragement from both Aang and his uncle, Zuko brings a tsungi horn to class one day. It took a bit of convincing, but it's there, and Zuko eventually sits down to play.

Despite being a bit out of practice, he's actually quite a talented player.]

[On the 17th, Magic will start off with questions about progress during the break for those pursuing interest in the spirits, and some demonstrations and question/answer sessions for any newcomers to the class.

Later days will involve more practical demonstrations and applications, and give students a chance to talk about their worlds concepts of magic and powers and so forth.

Some classes will be held outside, but others in the battle dome due to convenience.]

[Jean had finally managed to make contact with Nala toward the very end of August, after months of hesitation and steeled doubts that go hand in hand with his pessimistic nature. It's an odd sensation, like talking with someone who isn't fully there, but he supposes he's done that before.

On the later days, when the class moves into demonstrations and the like, he isn't sure what he should be doing. He hasn't much of a chance to practice these new abilities - he's healed up minor scrapes and scratches on his horse a few times, but that's all. There isn't much sense to healing magic if there are no injuries to mend. So he finds himself closely watching his classmates. Despite closing in on a full year spent here, he's still amazed - startled, almost - by what people can do, manipulating the wind and harnessing water.]

[The first day back will involve students offering suggestions for new locations they can look at in the battle dome, and addressing the last shift and asking if any other worlds held those kinds of customs.

Otherwise, later days will involve showing off locations, so be prepared to take the floor and show off some interesting sites!

Even better, if it's something that attracts the attention of those who don't usually attend...]
