It's early morning in the quiet enclosure that will someday become Luceti. The sun is rising, birds are chirping in that annoyingly cheery way that makes you want to shoot them out of the trees, and the residents are beginning to wake up. Most of them are heading to work, either to farm, or to build, or to work the shops, or even just to prepare a nice breakfast for their families and neighbours. Everyone has something to do.

And then, out of nowhere, a couple hundred strangers show up in the middle of the woods.

At first there is confusion, and no shortage of caution, from the neighbours; newcomers are common enough, but usually they are announced beforehand, and never in such great numbers. The leaders of the town are called in to ask questions. The newcomers are free to explore, but any aggression will be met in kind; if need be, the Filial of the past will defend their homes. They're hoping it won't come to that, however. You're stuck with one another for a long time, after all.

Thankfully, there is one man who might be able to bring the natives and newcomers together: Tyr.

...And the other guy, maybe. We'll see.

((Someone kinder would've said that Leaf climbed down from the tree. The more truthful verb would be closer to falling. At any rate, she ends up on the ground with nothing more than a skinned knee for her trouble, her eyes going wide in delight as she catches sight of--))

Ch'Ding! ((Pokémon and trainer meet as if they're protagonists in a dramatic movie, running into a tight hug as Leaf twirls around with her farfetch'd in her arms.)) I missed you. I knew you'd find me.

And did you help? ((She asks, finally noticing Red.)) Thank you so much.

(( As the girl comes in sight (shh, don't worry, we won't say anything about that drop) and the farfetch'd seems to hurry more forward Red slows, stopped already during their Moment. There's a certain amount of surprise to hear the name he does (so she was saying Ch'Ding...?), but the sight distracts him from that oddity. Aww, reunions. So nice.

When he's noticed, he laughs, shaking his head. )) You don't have to thank me - he did most of the work. Your farfetch'd's got a good trainer tracker in him. --he is a guy, right?

(( Better ask! ))

Yeah, he's a boy! And we've been together for months now. Maybe even a year. He always takes good care of me. ((By now, Ch'Ding is squirming to be let go, but Leaf has no plans to set him down.))

Are you a trainer too? I heard there were other trainers in this world.

[pokeboy]

(( Oh, Ch'Ding... ))

That's right-- my name's Red. I'm a trainer from Kanto! How about you?

[pokegirl]

What? No way! I'm Leaf, from Pallet Town! I don't know if you know of it - it's a pretty tiny place, but it's home. Wow, I didn't expect there'd be anyone else from Kanto here! ((Ch'Ding's finally set down so she can hold out a hand to the other boy.)) It's nice to meet you!

[pokeboy]

Pallet--? (( It's not said too loud, and then there's a hand-- let him take that. )) Um, nice to meet you too! (( And while they're still handshaking, he glances over to Ch'Ding. )) Did you meet Ch'Ding in Kanto too?

[pokegirl]

Yeah! I met him through a trade in Vermillion City, and he's been my right-hand man every since! ((Pose!)) He's one of my best friends. I don't know what I'd do if he didn't come here.

[pokeboy]

(( ...Vermillion? That earns the pokémon another look, staring at him with confusion before he looks back up to Leaf. ))

Oh, so do you... know what's going on?

[pokegirl]

Uh... I guess? I just got here, but a kid explained some of the stuff to me. New world, different times or whatever, no one will know I'm gone... it's going to be so fun! It just kinda sucks that only three of my pokémon are gonna be here.

[pokeboy]

Um, right; only three pokémon show up. No more show up later... (( He shouldn't be distracted, right? What else does he say here? )) Have you found anyone else?

[pokegirl]

No, but I should find them soon, now that I've found Farfetch'd. It'll be easy - nothing to worry about. Which of your pokémon do you have here?

[pokeboy]

Pikachu-- oh! Just give me a second- (( He turns his head, and loud with more warning- )) PIIIKAAACHUUU! We found her!

(( Echo, echo, echoo...! Okay, done. Where was he? )) A pikachu, snorlax, and a venusaur.

[pokegirl]

Ooh, that's exciting. I'd love to meet them! Where are you from in Kanto, again?

[pokeboy]

Um... Pallet Town. But I live in Celadon too sometimes.

(( He says it like an excuse for what he thinks will come from admitting that. It's not really the truth, but it's not entirely a lie.

Let's add to it. )) There's trainers from far away here too!

[pokegirl]

((Hold up a second here.)) Wait, you're from Pallet Town too? That's impossible. I would've known you. You're just a little younger than me!

[pokeboy]

Maybe I was in Celadon at the time! (( GDIT TAKE THE BAIT. )) Anyway, I didn't get out a lot, so you just never met me!

[pokegirl]

Wait, so did you grow up in Celadon or Pallet Town? ((She's insatiably curious! SHE HAS TO KNOW.)) That's really weird. I've spent a couple months in Celadon too, and I lived in Pallet Town for - well, years and years!

[pokeboy]

So? That doesn't mean you're going to meet everyone. Don't worry about it! (( And he turns around, back in the direction they came. )) Anyway, let's get out of this forest! Won't your other pokémon be looking for you?

(( And speaking about other pokémon, there's a squeak from somewhere above- until from high above Pikachu jumps downward, landing on the side of the tree trunks until he makes it safely onto Red's chest. Got'cha! )) Sorry, Pika. Guess we should've guessed the forest too, huh?

[pokegirl]

Yeah, I guess. . . ((She bites her lip, then hurries after him, Ch'Ding flying from tree to tree to follow them.)) Is this your pikachu? Hi, I'm Leaf! It's nice to meet you. ((Of course she waves excitedly at the pokémon. And then she turns back to Red and asks-)) Hey, did you ever know Professor Oak when you were in Pallet Town?

[pokeboy]

(( Pikachu climbs up from Red's chest, poking his head over his shoulder and giving her a wave back. Hi! ))

Of course I did. Who doesn't know about Professor Oak? He's famous. (( At least, Red thinks he is... )) Why?

[pokegirl]

You know. I'm just trying to figure out what we have in common! Did you ever know his grandson? He's about our age, and he sucks. ((Like, really.))

[pokeboy]

(( Sputtersnort-- you got him there Leaf. He can't help chuckling, putting a hand up to his mouth. Pikachu is less secretive about giggling cheekily. Girl has got a total point. ))

Umm. (( Oh geez, what is he going to say... )) I've heard about him. (( There. )) There's two other people here from Pallet Town if you wanna talk about that stuff. They're trainers too.

[pokegirl]

Wow, really? There are so many people here from Pallet! That's amazing. ((She hums happily to herself as she trots along after him.)) Have you heard bad things about him? People call him the Five-Minute Champion. I didn't mean to beat him so quickly, but it's not like I did it on purpose. He's a good trainer - now he is, at least, but he has a terrible attitude.

[pokeboy]

(( what this girl beat him what-- ))

Umm, no... I, uh- I didn't know he became Champion. (( His voice is uncertain, shaky, though Pikachu's the complete opposite, cooing in surprise and wonder by what she's saying. )) Did you really beat him in five minutes?

(( This is a total case of spoilers, but Blue was his rival. And she really beat him? ))

Well, he came, he won, and then he lost. I don't think it really took five minutes, but once it was over, it was over. I didn't know he'd just become Champion, or else I would've waited an hour or something.
