[Charles opts to stay behind in the village, if for no other reason than due to the fact that his telepathic abilities coming back in full force has found his control over his mutation to be rather unpredictable. A muscle he hasn't used to it's full potential in nearly a month and now it's back in its entirety and with a vengeance.
They say weeks of inactivity can undo muscle training and if the voices flooding his head were any indication of what he's lost in such a short amount of time then these first few days are going to be problematic. Even painful. Especially with the escalating chaos, all of the minds inadvertently touching his own and he can feel it.
The steady increase of shocking experiences being endured by others is nothing, however, compared to those finding themselves inadvertently in pain due to fires, floods, and plants suddenly manifesting out of nowhere. It's almost incapacitating for him.
So for the first three days, roughly, Charles will be very prone to isolation...or whatever isolation he can find. He's not going to be like his usual self, less patient, maybe even less kind depending on the circumstances, and not quite as in control of his abilities as they were at 10%.
He even looks a little rougher than usual.]
Nov. 3rd. - Onwards
[With enough isolation, or lack thereof, maybe he's been given a good enough speech or pep talk, maybe he's managed to navigate himself out of his funk, but roughly around the time shit really starts to hit the fan he's managed to regain composure and control of himself. Or enough so that he's able to function more or less normally without his powers running amok on him--and with that said he's back out in full force, not quite as content to keep to himself with his chessboard and his notes...especially with a certain little girl out there who's safety he's now absolutely petrified for.
So what can be expected of Charles is a change in priorities. He'll certainly be using his telepathy as unobtrusively as he can manage now that his range has increased. There's a need to be able to see what is going on all over the village and all at once. Who is injured and where they are. And finally to see where as much of the danger lies as possible as it would do him no good too fall into similar traps while attempting to help others. The people he'll want to find first are those he's come to associate an almost paternal bond with...Raven if at all possible, though his hope is dwindling. Sophie, Wanda, Jean and many of the young ones he's come across in his time here.
The level of responsibility he feels for those he's bonded with is almost unmanageable, but he's out there anyway and he's suited up in his
bondageX-Men gear. So feel free to join him in his heroics or perhaps you require some rescuing. If that's the case he will do his utmost to ensure your continued preservation if he can.]((ooc: Again, before interacting with Charles, I strongly advise you to check his permissions post, especially now that his power is back in full force...and given the new threats in the village he won't be shy about using them.))
Nov 2?
He, however, is almost ecstatic about the entire affair, which is a marked contrast from what everyone else in the village is thinking and feeling. When he finds himself victim to a pocket of static electricity, Walter whoops and begins searching for whoever is closest to him - which happens to be Charles as they pass by each other.]
You! You there! I need you to-- [A zap of blue light arcs from his hand to the metal case and he nearly flings it at Charles by accident.]

[With the barrier gone, it seemed as though every day it become more and more apparent as to why it was there in the first place. It was mild at first -- barely noticeable, really. But by the time the third rolled around, it was beginning to get hard to ignore the strange happenings around the village. But even so, Ion tried his best to continue helping out as much as possible.]
[For instance, back at House One, strange pests keep trying to make their way into the house. And on at least one occasion, every windowsill was lined with frogs on the outside, croaking long into the night. Around the village, mini earthquakes seemed to spawn little potholes that made his nightly runs a far more dangerous sport than before. And on one particular night, a large hole will open up beneath his feet, effectively trapping him until someone stumbles across him sleeping in there the next morning.]
[And through it all, his old draft injury has been aching much more than usual, occasionally leaving him in so much pain he looks like he's about to pass out. He tries not to go out on days like this, but sometimes it just happens so suddenly, all he can do is sit wherever he is and wait for it to pass.]
[ November 5th ]
[But nothing will have prepared him for what happens on the fifth. While walking out to check on the fields after reports of strange things affecting the crops, Ion notices his steps feeling a bit... lighter. After a few minutes, he realizes he's not actually touching the ground at all. And without the ground, there was no momentum, so for a little while he just kind of floats there, wondering what he was supposed to do.]
[At least until a certain mischievous wind decided to blow. And just like that, he was floating away.]
[Of course, if this were anyone other than Ion they might find their new-found ability to fly to be awesome. But Ion is still rather afraid of heights after that trauma he experienced a few years back. And he really doesn't appreciate being blown through the sky like a tumbleweed. Please, for the love of Yulia, someone throw him a line!!]
tags in seven days late with starbucks
[When it's about three or four AM and he isn't home yet, she'll go out in search for him. It's dark outside, and that only makes the searching more difficult. Eventually, Anise stumbles upon a hole.]
[Or rather, stumbles into. It was dark enough that she couldn't really see in front of her, and in the middle of calling out for Ion, she kinda sorta fell in. It was deep enough that she probably wouldn't be able to get out on her own...but at least she landed on something soft?]

He did, however, pick up Flowmotion. So, while this sudden lack of gravity is kinda alarming, he's at least trying to make the most of it by bouncing off of trees and other nearby obstacles to keep his momentum going.
So when he spots Ion floating away, what does he do?
He dashes at him, glowing pink, and--]

[Rei is not happy. Rei is very, very much not happy. She's having a series of no good, rotten, terrible, horrible very bad days. Because no matter where she goes? Something seems to be going wrong. The spirits have decided to make her life difficult, it seems. One moment she's perfectly fine.
And then the next? Her long dark hair is standing completely on end as static electricity fills it up. Once that dies down, she steps in a sinkhole and ends up with a yucky muddy shoe. After that? A sudden short lived and incredibly localized rain-shower breaks out over her head. Lather, rinse, repeat until November 3rd.
On the 3rd, things start getting even weirder. Grass just withers and dies as she passes, or she can't step into her own house without kudzu creepers starting to sprout out of her couch. One particularly prominent, and thoroughly irritating hour is spent trapped inside a bubble with no gravity. Just...floating there with no good way out.
The final straw comes early in November 4th, when she wakes up to find her bedroom completely covered in, of all things, bullfrogs. They croak and she probably wakes up the surrounding houses with a shriek of utter frustration.
She is so very, very done!]
November 4th-Onward
[Thoroughly done, Rei decides it's probably best to just get away from the village for a while. With a general air of "fuck this shit I'm out", the Sailor Senshi picks up her journal, her bags, and gathers up some food and supplies before informing her girlfriend, friends, and other people she knows of her intent. They're more than welcome to come, but she just isn't putting up with any more mischief. Feel free to catch her on her way out of the village, when she comes to see you, or just looking miserable as the mischievous spirits take parting shots.]
((ooc: Feel free to catch Rei with any of the above troubles, or make up your own.))
November 4th, morning
She's startled from contented rest to half-awake confusion almost instantly by the shriek. She tries to bolt straight upright, but, not being on her back at the moment, this turns into more of a flail.]
What? What? What's wr -- ?
[Her squinted gaze falls on a bullfrog. And then she notices its not alone. Her shriek is less due to frustration and she half-throws herself backwards -- which is probably going to result in a collision with Rei.]

[Hiccup's been helping out at the blacksmith. Or at least, he's trying; he's been busy mapping out the corners of the new land he's in.
It seems like everything is twice as flammable as it ought to be, and so he ends up putting out a lot of fires instead of actually helping craft anything. One might find him weakly throwing buckets of water on things like his life depends on it. Maybe it doesn't, but there's a lot of people depending on the blacksmith stall not burning down in the middle of a resource crisis, so there you go.
When he can, he works on figuring out the plumbing system. He's experimenting on a network of pipes so he can figure out how best to make the irrigation for his greenhouse idea. Which is great on paper, but... as soon as he hooks it up to a well, the water pressure disappears entirely. Dries up, in fact. He takes a wrench to the end-cap and peeks into it.
... Only to get blasted in the face with so much water it sends him flying backward and landing on the grass, with the water trickling out of the pipe like nothing happened.
Naturally, Hiccup chalks this up to his being a walking disaster, and attempts this several times with similar results.]
[ November 5th and onward ]
[No matter where Hiccup goes, carrying supplies or otherwise, he ends up falling down at least twice.
Except that one time he falls up, and he's so surprised he drops all of his plans. And then he falls back down again and his book lands on his face.
This is when he pretty much decides he needs to meet up with Mikage or someone and get the flying fuck out of here for a long while.]
November 3(?)
The only thing he can leave in good conscience is his apartment, where ever since this morning, everything he touches gives him a static shock. Everything. It was unpleasant, to say the least. While it seems to be limited to just his apartment, all the static electricity did a bit of a number of his shaggy mane of hair. Nothing for it but take a walk and hope whatever fluke caused it will wear off on its own. Taka's settled on his shoulder, of course. He'd never leave his trusted companion behind in such a static hellhole.
He hears the blast of water before he sees it, but as he whirls around, he spots the source of the disturbance soon enough. There's a kid on the ground who looks like he was just doused by a waterfall. Peculiar, considering the only source of water is that innocent-looking pipe. Simon will approach to investigate.]

Now? Now he's trying to walk by, except the sudden gravity flux causes him to fly up, bonk his head on a tree branch, and topple to the ground.
Grumbling, he casts a glance to Hiccup, grabbing his still floating Komory Bat by one of its feet and gently tugging it down.]
Hey, you need a hand?
[He'll at least try to walk over in hopes that he doesn't get plucked away. Getting hit by a book is never fun.
Riku knows; he had to fight Zexion.]

[It was all fine and interesting to watch, until September himself became affected in the most irritating and itchy of ways. For the sake of everyone else, he's going to keep a good ten feet between himself and the rest of society.]
[With good reason...]
[Because he's inexplicably attracting what seems like every mosquito in the village, having to swat new ones every few seconds. With his natural abilities back, if he can catch bullets, he can slap away mosquitoes... it doesn't leave him time to do anything else while in the nasty swarm. And it's embarrassing. He's not filthy, really!]
[Eventually on the second day, he finds out that the only thing that protects him is staying in a bathtub. Forever. Fully clothed.]

[ Rin is having a no good very bad time at the beginning of the month. He'd stayed behind to keep helping out at the farm he'd been working at, and also to help anyone who needed help on projects they might've been doing in the village (in fact, he was actively seeking those out if anyone wants to recruit him!) but then... the spirits started to have issues.
Rin doesn't have a bone with any of them. He'd been working on some back home. But.
But now he feels something weird from the ones he can vaguely hear. Either way, he ends up getting thrown down holes, or seeing things light on fire around him, or seeing the farm's food shivel up no matter how much he tries to combat the plants.
And that, (along with spirit influence) makes him mad. In fact, Rin's temper is getting the better of him all over the place while he's here. Might want to tread carefully in that respect. There's a good chance he will try to pick a fight for no reason, or be fighting with the 7 foot tall metal murderbird who had been just laying low until she started to get hassled by spirits too. Eventually, this'll force Rin to leave the village for fear of not burning everything down himself. but until then . . . ]

Civilized tea
[Iroh is undertaking a great endeavor. He is working toward enlightening the individuals of the village of the great value of tea. He has set himself a booth with displays and of course a few tea pots and cups. He is also holding a discussion of tea, and its proper consumption and health benefits]
November 5th-Onwards
[Iroh is still continuing his quest to make tea the drink of the future, but he is also attempting to interact with the spirits, to try and calm things down. Even with mischievous spirits about, he still seems in relatively good spirits throughout and takes everything in stride]

[Pilouette has slowly been adjusting to life in the past. The sudden lack of technology was a little difficult for her, but the idea that whatever they did in the past might improve the enclosure in the future made it a little easier to keep at it. She awoke that morning to expect another day of hard work and doing whatever she could to help out. What she didn't expect was to find her room completely overrun by plants...her room on the second floor of building 2. Plants have overgrown her entire room, covering nearly everything, including her door and windows. Her journal is under all those vines and leaves somewhere, but exactly where she doesn't know.
She does her best to try and cut through some of them with a kitchen knife, but most of them are pretty strong and the ones she can cut through grow back almost right away. She keeps at it, but every once in a while she turns to banging on her door and floor to try and get attention. Maybe someone can help her out here...]
November 5th
[After a few days, Pilouette starts to hope that this all will pass soon. While walking around outside, she finds herself moving very...oddly. Her steps are light. Ridiculously light. Eventually, she's not stepping at all, a sudden lack of gravity keeping her off the ground. She flails around for a while before finally, possibly with help, she finds a way to get around.
It's not long before things get a little more dire. She tries to take a breath...only to find herself unable to. She can feel her lungs burning as she begins to panic, flailing around in a small area with no gravity and no air. She's going to need some help here.]

[Staying in the village had been a practical choice to Walter; while he may have been curious about the outside world, he knew that there was still not much known about their temporary home to just leave his housemates -- and seeing as none of them were intending to go out and explore, that made it much easier to keep an eye on all of them.
Strange how easy it was to accept the fact that he was protective of all of them, even Grune. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that Grune's tendency to irritate him was evened out by her tendency to be kind even while being utterly oblivious. It was better than being downright unpleasant.
He helps out around the village, especially when it becomes obvious that there are attempts to build fortifications and more buildings. They needed all the help they could get, it seemed.]
November 3 and on
[The first sign that things are going wrong is the sinkhole that appears as he's helping collect a felled tree in the forest. He's able to climb out just fine, but no one takes responsibility for the sudden change. When another sinkhole appears as he's trying to build a fence, he curses and halts the project to go talk to some of the other villagers.
Things got worse from there -- and he knew things were bad when one day he was the one breaking up a sudden fight. He takes a punch to the jaw before knocking out the aggressor, scowling at everyone present and telling them to get back to work.
There wasn't really much else they could do about the disruptions, was there?]
3ish
There is plenty of other work for idle hands, particularly with all these new people to feed and how utterly heavy it feels to walk around with only a fraction of the power she usually possesses. After this long, she thinks it shouldn't be so bad. She's sitting nearby, organizing herbs she's picked from the surrounding forests, and there are raised voices. As she looks up, someone punches Walter in the face.
Mia is already standing by the time he punches back. It takes more steps than she likes to reach them; she dismisses Walter in her mind while convincing two bystanders to help the other man to the clinic. Only once the small crowd disperses does she turn to see if Walter chose to stay.]

From the 13th Onwards
[Jade's been away exploring ever since the barrier went down, only keeping in communication enough to make sure that there hadn't been any political movements in his absence.
Now he returns to find something more unusual and unsettling. As he drops off whatever haul he brought for Romaeus, he notices the hostile spirits in action. He soon takes out his journal and makes a video message to the village at large, with an air of vaguely sarcastic politeness.]
Good afternoon, Luceti. Would anyone like to fill me in on what's happening here? I've been gone for just two weeks, and it seems that you've all made quite the mess of things while I've been away.
[Action]
[Jade will check in at House 1 and at a number of the public gathering places, where he'll try to rally up allies to deal with this phenomenon.
Beyond that, he can be found trying to fend off the spirits with his spear and fonic artes. In particular, he may end up fighting the swarm of angry bears, while trying to strike at the spirit. However, he can also end up suffering from one of the two spirit affects: sudden flu-like symptoms, or gravity suddenly 'nope'ing on him.
Eventually, he'll figure out the potential solution to the problem. He doesn't have a pre-existing pact with any spirits, but he'll head for the nearest lake regardless in hopes of connecting with Sona. A number of spirits pursue and block him off, however. Will you help him reach the lake, or will he have to take on a different pact...?]

[Surprisingly Law is in the village. Most of the time (He's trying to arrange to sail one of the larger boats and the natives are not so eager to lend it to him). There's a clinic he has to finish setting up, and now that the barrier is down?
It's the best time to restore something else now that his own abilities are back at what they should be. For a day or two, Law is barely seen. The same with Itachi. Perhaps they're taking advantage of the privacy of House 18 now that Sheena and Vash have left for their mission.
Of course once Halloween rolls by things begin to get weird. Heavy winds? Fine. Fields of concentrated static electricity? A buzzkill. Healing magic going screwy? ... alright.. that last one's concerning.
Getting trapped in pockets of airlessness sucks though. Or being pinned in place by heavy gravity, then suddenly floating up, before being slammed back to earth - rinse, lather, and repeat. Please don't ask why he now has silvery blue hair. He doesn't care if it looks distinguished - if his skin turns blue next - okay, the last thing he wants to deal with on top of this is doing a shoddy Bil cosplay.
By the fifth of November, Law is thoroughly sick of these things. The landscape's been trying to kill him all morning when he's been trying for a little outdoors training. Thin energy twisters, and the ground turning liquid and hot in spots, and that's not fog! That's boiling steam!
And through it all, he feels himself being watched. Again.
That's it. He's done. Who wants to go sailing.]
[After November 5]
[Of course Natural Shifts aren't so kind. He keeps being bounced back to the village for more of the same.
Then bounced right back out.
For gods sake.]
Nov. 4
She hasn't felt up to training in a very long time but particularly in the past few days, contenting herself with gathering surplus food and herbs for their makeshift clinic. The end of just such a trip coincides with their joint arrival to the clinic, from different directions. Mia is about to greet Law (loud enough that he can hear from all the way over there) when a flash stops her, leaving spots on her vision that combine with her other problems to send her staggering.
Right, as it happens, into one of those damnable high-gravity pockets. Mia feels herself hit the ground before she sees any dirt, still blinking away the effects of such strong light. This isn't her first gravity rodeo but the airlessness blows by like an anti-breeze while she waits; caught unprepared, it doesn't take her much time to go from frustrated to out cold.]

[Kurt thought he was taking a break from all the adventuring when he finally returned to the village... only to find the village had a lot more weirdness in store for him. Places to find him?
a. Trying to hack away at plants that are growing around and/or into House 16.
b. Getting caught in a field of static electricity. Not only does it make his fur stand on end, it also gets him temporarily stuck to walls and such.
c. Trying to walk through town against the abrupt darkness or the blinding light in order to look for supplies. At least he's good at operating in the cover of darkness.
Throughout all of this, Kurt can be in either his human disguise or his normal blue furry form. Because all of this weirdness is messing up his image inducr something fierce.]
[13th and Beyond]
[e! Kurt is doing his best to help out while the spirits are rampaging. Mostly, he'll be teleporting here and there to try to rescue anyone caught in the sights of a spirit attack. He won't do too good at actual combat though, especially now that he finds himself getting unusually sick.]

- Handing out food as per Shikamaru's request
- Studying shifting machinery first hand and learning as much as she can about it;
- Visiting the tunnels and looking for anything significantly different or new there.
Of course with the situation in the village as it is, these tasks can't go as smoothly thanks to the interference of the spirits, the return of a slight migraine problem... larger problems, such as the occasional lack of air or gravity trap, and the hints that Nala may want to take her body over entirely, but mostly --
... a mountain of questions. Their actions here are going to affect the future. A future they'll return to -- and perhaps a future they shouldn't be in. The choice to do so is far out of their hands, but it's still there to consider. And so she stands in the tunnels with her notes, debating. It's still the world they're fighting against, after all.]
November 18-19
On the 19th, he's at least up to speed and has gone to seek Twila out. For the spirit's love of chaos, Shikamaru's noticed that even it is no longer participating as much in the madness present, settling down like the other Luceti-native spirits. Shikamaru can be found under the thick shadow of a tree near the village, attempting to reason with it and sounding like he's having an argument in annoyed, hushed tones with himself as a result.]
