Summary: It's finally here, an entire day dedicated to celebrating the starfish and spending time with friends. Have fun!

After months of planning and roping in poor, innocent people to help out with some of the work it's finally done. An actual festival, all for the starfish.

The morning of the 14th mostly consists of people arriving, the stalls being brought in and decorations being put up. It's all about the preparation! Most of the decorating consists of banners and streamers you might find at a school festival, all hung around doors and windows and between the buildings in the plaza. And star shaped pieces of card being stuck up here and there in places too. If the decorations don't tell you what's going on then the banners saying 'STARFISH FESTIVAL' certainly will.

Come midday the festival is in full swing. There's plenty of food at many of the stalls (either prepared by Fuuko and the other girls or brought in by other villagers) ranging from cake, ice cream and different kinds of sweet things, to starfish tea, sandwiches, all sorts of festival fare. There are a few games set up too where it's possible to win starfish related prizes like pins, badges and even plush toys and some stalls are even giving out wind chimes. Finally there's also a little entertainment provided with music being played in the background throughout most of the festival. (You should totally go listen to Kotomi giving her very own violin recital.)

By night time when most of the food is gone there will be a fireworks display to bring an end to the festival. Hopefully the Starfish Festival would be a day to remember!

(You didn't need to receive an invite in order to come, that was just the girl's attempt at getting word of the festival out there. The festival is open to anyone and everyone to come along and have a good time.)

This guy looks as though he's out to have some fun, eating snacks and all that, so Fuuko won't judge him by that... Bondage thing he's wearing and will instead try to strike up a conversation!]

They are, aren't they? Fascinating is only one of the words Fuuko can think of to describe the starfish. They're also cute, adorable, wonderful, amazing, awe-inspiring and so much more!

It's not silly of you at all, Fuuko can't expect everyone to know every single word that can be used to describe the starfish. You could fill a whole book with all the words that you can apply to the little guys!

... Ah, Fuuko is being incredibly rude and just started talking about the starfish without a proper introduction. Fuuko Ibuki, it's an interesting experience meeting you!

Ah, of course. [And he offers a hand... or it looks like he does before it's a controlled sort of hand movement somewhere between a wave and a fist clench]

[Fuuko offers her own hand out in return only to awkwardly end up withdrawing it. Whoops. Well she doesn't know where this guy has been anyway, dressed like that. It's probably for the best they don't shake hands.]

The same to you Scorpius-san. Maybe someday there'll be a scorpion festival, which as weird as it is might appeal to you because of your name.

Ah, that would be quite the sight. I'm not sure they have as much... appeal. To the masses, as Starfish.

Well no, scorpions don't have any appeal at all compared to the starfish. [...] But if you're the sort who likes pincers and dangerous stingers then there has to be more people like that out there too Scorpius-san. A scorpion festival might end up becoming a reality, you never know.

[Not that he ever said he liked scorpions in the first place or anything like that, she's just rolling with his name still.]

Am I to take it that you were the one who saw this festival to its fruition?

[Beast, of course, sticks around at night for the rest of the festival and sees these fireworks... and now that he's seeing them, he actually does remember that he had seen them sometime long ago in his childhood... but oh it is so much more amazing than he recalls - the glow! The colours! It's like popping wine bottles only in the sky! And glowing!

Since he's rather busy basking in this miraculous event, he has not yet noticed his nearby fellow fireworks-viewer.]

[...Well. A non human? At first glance anyway idek if the curse does anything weird with this He is looking more at Beast than he is at the sky, to be fair]

[His attention continues to be enraptured with the shiny explosions, but he does eventually notice that he's being watched, and when he turns-flinch what is that man wearing? He is a man, right, not some human-like creature? And why is he looking at him like that?]

[Something about the way he said that made his fur rise just slightly for protection. But since he just seems to be greeting - seems to be anyway - he greets back, with not too much expression in his voice.] Good... evening.

[Hey hey it's a perfect pleasant tone, really! But no yeah he just looks up at the sky]

You seemed impressed by the display.

Oh, I... yes, o-of course. [He looks back up. Who isn't impressed by fireworks?]

Are such displays uncommon to your people?

[Might as well. Ask]

Y-yes. [If "uncommon" means "don't see often". He hesitates to say more, not sure of how much he should explain... before finally deciding to elabourate.]

I h-haven't seen them in years.
