Summary: It's finally here, an entire day dedicated to celebrating the starfish and spending time with friends. Have fun!

After months of planning and roping in poor, innocent people to help out with some of the work it's finally done. An actual festival, all for the starfish.

The morning of the 14th mostly consists of people arriving, the stalls being brought in and decorations being put up. It's all about the preparation! Most of the decorating consists of banners and streamers you might find at a school festival, all hung around doors and windows and between the buildings in the plaza. And star shaped pieces of card being stuck up here and there in places too. If the decorations don't tell you what's going on then the banners saying 'STARFISH FESTIVAL' certainly will.

Come midday the festival is in full swing. There's plenty of food at many of the stalls (either prepared by Fuuko and the other girls or brought in by other villagers) ranging from cake, ice cream and different kinds of sweet things, to starfish tea, sandwiches, all sorts of festival fare. There are a few games set up too where it's possible to win starfish related prizes like pins, badges and even plush toys and some stalls are even giving out wind chimes. Finally there's also a little entertainment provided with music being played in the background throughout most of the festival. (You should totally go listen to Kotomi giving her very own violin recital.)

By night time when most of the food is gone there will be a fireworks display to bring an end to the festival. Hopefully the Starfish Festival would be a day to remember!

(You didn't need to receive an invite in order to come, that was just the girl's attempt at getting word of the festival out there. The festival is open to anyone and everyone to come along and have a good time.)

Based on my studies, they do seem to be a rather... fascinating species.

They are, aren't they? Fascinating is only one of the words Fuuko can think of to describe the starfish. They're also cute, adorable, wonderful, amazing, awe-inspiring and so much more!

It's not silly of you at all, Fuuko can't expect everyone to know every single word that can be used to describe the starfish. You could fill a whole book with all the words that you can apply to the little guys!

... Ah, Fuuko is being incredibly rude and just started talking about the starfish without a proper introduction. Fuuko Ibuki, it's an interesting experience meeting you!

Ah, of course. [And he offers a hand... or it looks like he does before it's a controlled sort of hand movement somewhere between a wave and a fist clench]

A pleasure to meet you, Fuuko Ibuki. My name... is Scorpius.

[Fuuko offers her own hand out in return only to awkwardly end up withdrawing it. Whoops. Well she doesn't know where this guy has been anyway, dressed like that. It's probably for the best they don't shake hands.]

The same to you Scorpius-san. Maybe someday there'll be a scorpion festival, which as weird as it is might appeal to you because of your name.

Ah, that would be quite the sight. I'm not sure they have as much... appeal. To the masses, as Starfish.

Well no, scorpions don't have any appeal at all compared to the starfish. [...] But if you're the sort who likes pincers and dangerous stingers then there has to be more people like that out there too Scorpius-san. A scorpion festival might end up becoming a reality, you never know.

[Not that he ever said he liked scorpions in the first place or anything like that, she's just rolling with his name still.]

Am I to take it that you were the one who saw this festival to its fruition?

That's right! Fuuko was the one who first proposed the idea of a Starfish Festival! Of course it wasn't all Fuuko's doing, a lot of friendly people offered to help out to make Fuuko's dream of a Starfish Festival a reality too. It was a group effort!

Much can be accomplished through cooperation... the results. Ah, well, they speak for themselves, don't they? Well done.

Thank you! [She'll even bow there. Save the applause.] Fuuko is actually surprised how well everything came together. Like a well oiled bakery or however the saying goes! Not only that but with so many people here it made working to set things up so much more fun than working alone.

Do you mean why it was fun? Well that's easy-- Or did you mean why as in why have a festival for the starfish?

The later. My own sentiments about the species aside it seems... a tad frivolous.

... Well it has always been one of Fuuko's dreams to have a festival for the starfish like this. Back home Fuuko could never have done this but here everything is so different that it was actually possible. If some people don't take the festival seriously then that's fine, as long as they have fun.

[...What a completely pointless dream. He considers a moment, and then goes to pull the invitation he was given by Nagisa out of his bag]

And what will you do now?

[Oh he was given an invite! Fuuko claps her hands together and smiles, there's some sort of happiness there at knowing one of the invites she didn't give out reached someone.]

Now? Uhm. There's always carving starfish, and maybe Fuuko could offer to plan more festivals in future! ... Fuuko will probably just spend some time with Nagisa-san and Kotomi-san for now though.

[And hopefully remind both of them of their time back home, before the wedding.]

That sounds vaguely horrible. Fuuko isn't sure whether to ask what a Scarran might be or to just drop the subject altogether.
