EVENT LOG: SCAVENGER HUNT

Who: All you scavenger hunters!
What: Scavenging and other fantabulousness, I suppose.
When: November 24th to 28th
Where: The whole village! And yet also all over time and space...

As announced by CJ, the village's immediate environs are divided up according to this map. There are five areas: the Nile, Ice Age, Space Opera, Shogunate, and Gangland. Time-and-place appropriate architecture and conjured up NPCs exist in each area.

Don't forget the scavenger hunt! While actually finding things is ultimatly optional, you can find more information on the hunt here. If you want to claim a reward from the hunt, be sure to link at least two related threads on the new rewards claims post.

Finally, here's a quick rundown of the objects:
- In THE NILE: A ceremonial dagger and a piece of Pharoah's treasure
- In GANGLAND: A tommy gun and a set of car keys
- In ICE AGE: A bone spear and a smilodon's tooth
- In SPACE OPERA: a raygun and part of a robot
- In SHOGUNATE: a samurai sword and water from a kappa's head

[The first day, Minato is woken up early by being extremely cold. He soon discovers the reason for this is that he's wrapped up in bear and mammoth pelts in some kind of cave. At least this wasn't a total surprise, thanks to CJ's earlier post, but it's still kind of annoying to wind up in the coldest region.

The only things he has to wear are also bear and mammoth pelts. Maybe a saber-tooth tiger or two. He finally manages to get on enough layers that he thinks he's warm enough to head outside to begin the scavenger hunt... and also look for a warmer place to stay. Koromaru follows him, decked out in a fancy bone collar.

Minato will be all over during the rest of the event, starting in the Ice Age and moving on to the other regions as he collects the items. He'll also be hoping to find someone in one of the warmer regions who's willing to let him crash for a few days.]

[gleamed]

[More than anything, Rapunzel is out exploring the Ice Age region (in her designated warm attire) when she spots Minato. She waves to him before skipping over.

Yes, even in the snow, she skips.]

Hello, Minato! [And she she glances down at Koromaru.] Who's your friend?

[emp3thy]

Hey, Rapunzel-san. [It's not hard to recognize her, what with the hair and the skipping. He may be slightly jealous that she gets normal warm attire while his looks like it was raided from a neanderthal's closet, but what's done is done. Koromaru barks a greeting at her.]

This is Koromaru. [The dog he'd told her she should meet.... months ago, whoops.]

[gleamed]

[She thinks his outfit looks nice! Of course, she thinks everyone's outfits look nice.

Ah! But the name rings a bell, and Rapunzel kneels down to Koromaru's level.]

That's right! It's great to meeting you, Koromaru. Are the two of you having fun?

[emp3thy]

[Koromaru barks. Minato... shrugs.]

He seems to be.

[gleamed]

[She glances up at him with a smile in her face.]

And you?

[emp3thy]

I'm cold.

first day!

[repudiate]

[ Hey, Minato. Ange has no interest whatsoever in participating in this whole deal, but it's not like she can escape the surroundings either.. at least she made sure to throw enough pelts on herself so she's at least fully covered up, what were the Malnosso thinking this time? :| The cold doesn't even bother her as much as that fact, really.

So despite seeming lineface as usually, it's a decidedly more grumpy version of it this morning as she manages to spot the boy before he leaves the house. ]

Hey, Minato.

[emp3thy]

[The 'house' is honestly relative, it's been pretty much reduced to a couple of interconnected caves...

At least they are nicely decorated, for caves.] Hey.

[.....] I might not be back until this is fixed.

[entreats]

[ The closest thing they have to a house right now, something more like that.. and well, it's not like she can blame Minato on the latter, despite still seeming obviously grumpy. ]

That's fine. I'll be around whenever you come back either way, someone's got to look after Keiichi, after all.

[emp3thy]

[....oh yeah, Keiichi...]

We could all look for someplace warmer together.

[entreats]

Can we just leave the -- [ She pauses, can she even call it a house out loud.. but.. ] house alone like this though? Even if it's changed into this stupid cave.

[emp3thy]

....We could lock it.

Roll a rock in front of the entrance.

[Welcome to gangland, where mafia and yakuza collide--I mean...

Souji's going around in one of those standard issue mobster getups. Frankly, if not for his gray head of bowl hair and his short stature compared to the bigger guys, he'd probably blend in well with the environment.

Approach him, regardless? You just might get a chance to get some well-deserved rest.]

[Minato's outfit is fairly standard as well... A fedora and pinstripes. The only thing unusual about it is the blue hair.

Souji doesn't stand out nearly as much, so it takes him a second glance to recognize him. When he does, he walks over, hands in his pockets and slouching as usual.]

Hey, Souji-kun.

[the_tv_is_a_lie]

[Well, it takes a few blinks, but then he notices the familiar cut of blue hair underneath the hat. He raises a hand in greeting.]

Afternoon, Arisato-san. [...Dude, you don't look so good.] ...You okay?

[emp3thy]

[He blinks a little at that, but shakes his head.]

I'm fine.... Are you on the scavenger hunt?

[the_tv_is_a_lie]

[Well, if he says he's okay for now...he'll let him be for the moment.]

Mm. ...Can't say I've had much luck, though. [His last attempt to negotiate with thugs ended...a little badly. >_>]

Are you going to join in?

[He nods.] I'm looking around.

[Considering he spent two years tromping through countries wearing little more than pants and a boxing cape, Akihiko doesn't look all that pleased to be in the cold like this. Sure, a bunch of hides wrapped and tied against against his body staved off the cold a bit, but it reduced his maneuverability, and the cold would definitely reduce his reaction time.

So he has a frown on his face as he slowly makes his way down the path towards Minato's house. Had to check how he was holding up, right?]

[The 'path to Minato's house' is relative, considering it's been reduced to a series of cave entrances. It would have been hard for Akihiko to figure out which cave was actually his former leader's, if he weren't already outside of it. Koromaru perks up and barks a greeting, causing Minato to turn towards Akihiko as well.]

[thunderfists]

[He smiles a bit at Koromaru's familiar bark, continuing until he's closer to the two.]

Not exactly what I thought I'd be waking up to.

[emp3thy]

[Oh hi, Senpai. He didn't even recognize you until you spoke... the furs blend in with the environment, and the white hair with the snowy conditions.]

At least they gave some warning.

[Even if it wasn't a very good warning.] But I don't really want to hang out here too long.

[thunderfists]

[Just wait until a really bad snowstorm kicks up and they really start resembling the animals they're wearing at the moment.]

Some warning...

I don't want to hang around here, either. Is there anything worth grabbing in your place? [His own house is ... uh, completely transformed.]

...I found a spear.

[Which he picks up from where he'd leaned it against a rock. He thinks maybe it was his sword, at one point in time...

His Evoker is... a slingshot, and he's not sure how he's supposed to use it anymore.]
