Starting at midnight on the 26th, Luceti and its inhabitants will find itself the focus of the Filial spirits, usually quiet and reclusive, now stepping out to deal with one of their own.

As promised, here is some additional information to help figure out how to play around with the spirits and interacting with similarly possessed people.

First off, each spirit has a certain time or place when they are at their most powerful. Consequently, characters possessed by them will enjoy these boosts and this in itself can be a deciding factor in what would otherwise be a stalemate. Here’s a quick run down:

Sona - She’s most powerful around lakes, rivers, and the ocean. Mostly this is concentrated at the southern lake.

Kipinn - He’s most powerful in high places, like mountain tops and the roofs of community buildings.

Faeren - She’s most powerful in the farmlands alongside things that grow.

Tsinku - He’s most powerful in the village itself, where technology thrives.

Eferin - He’s most powerful in the center of the forest where his heat may cause trees to burn. In fact, the upcoming forest fire may cause some trouble if his followers get too rowdy.

Hyt - It’s most powerful during the daytime under a bright sky.

Twila - It’s most powerful during the night time.

Nala- She has no domain and is generally welcome wherever she goes.

How possessed characters will deal with other possessed characters will depend on the interactions of the spirits themselves. A useful spreadsheet sums up these relationships. Those that have a friendly attitude to one another will generally allow ‘trespassers’ into their domain, but those they are not so friendly with may cause conflict.

Finally, to elaborate on Twila-possessed characters. Those with a natural affinity for darkness are likely to be possessed first. Once they have, they can try to recruit others less-compatible candidates to ‘join the cause’. Their goal is numbers. The more who are working with Twila, the better. Once they do, they’ll be inclined to act in their own self interest and if necessary, deal with others who try to get in their way. In the long term, the spirit Twila wants to stay this way, bonded to the Lucetians as hybrids, that way it cannot be imprisoned again. Think of it as pure survival instinct of an animal that’s spent way too long in a cage.

All isn’t lost. The other spirits may not be able to cage it again, but they won’t accept Twila reacting in this manner. Though it’s hard to tell what their beef with Twila is, they have an instinctive familiarity with the dark spirit and seem to act as its jail keepers.

They have the power to free people from Twila, but given their poor communication skills, figuring that out might just be a challenge. After all, the spirits can only communicate in shades of feeling and intentions, but not actually verbalize directions or marching orders. However, there will be a Malnosso post mid-event that will give everyone, possessed or otherwise, the info they need to turn things around.

[These new wings have to be a cause for concern, right? Fuuko certainly thinks so, or she does at first. After freaking out over the growth in her wings she soon quietens down and goes on to inspect them carefully. She's still worried about what's going on but for the most part she's being far less vocal about it than she was originally.

With the initial shock out of the way Fuuko can be found outside, sitting in the plaza or making her way there, trying out her new found control over light. She starts out by creating small flashes of light, soon progressing on to making shapes out of the light in the air around her. It should be no surprise to learn the shapes she's making are mostly stars, but of course to Fuuko she's making starfish.

Fuuko spends most of her time making stars out of light and smiling to herself, though she does little more than that. Normally she would space out and lose herself at the sight of all these wonderful starfish, but it seems she's just fine keeping to herself and enjoying her own little light show.

When night comes the strength of her light noticeably diminishes. She wasn't intending on staying out until it became dark, but it's easy to lose track of time when you're amusing your with floating starfish made out of light. Though there are still a few stars floating around her they're far from being as bright as they were during the day. As she hurries home she feels very uneasy, almost as though someone or something might be following her in the dark.]

[At some point during her star(fish)-making session, Fuuko's creations start to become accompanied with some of Beast's own light forms. The shapes are much rougher-looking, and do not always resemble anything specific, but it is clear there is intention behind them.

Truthfully, he is trying to recreate things he remembers from home; he never has been a very good artist.

He also may be doing this near Fuuko as some way to interact... it has been a long time since they're truly spent time together, and he senses a strange feeling of connection with her, in that they share the same magical powers. What does that mean? Even if he thinks about this, though, he's not going to say anything. He'll just make his presence known with these indescribable light rays beside her stars.]

[Fuuko is quite happy to see some more shapes of light joining her own, especially as it means someone else with the same kind of powers is nearby. She eventually ends up turning around to find the source of the other shapes after she's watched them float around for a little while.

When she realises these new shapes belong to Beast she can't help but smile at him. She even waves to him in greeting. Saying hello or talking doesn't seem to be an option that Fuuko is considering right now, so instead she decides to create another starfish made out of light and send it over to Beast so it floats around his head.]

[When he senses her glance and turns to see her smile, warmth stirs within him. After giving a sincere, heartfelt smile back, he stares fascinated at the star circling him. A star from Fuuko has never made him so happy.

He must make something in return... but what? Quickly, he takes some more light and shapens it into... what almost looks like a bear head. If she squints, Fuuko might see it. And now it's circling her own head.]

[Fuuko watches the shape circle around her, following it with her eyes as it floats around. Once it disappears behind her head she waits for it to reappear again before watching it again. What an interesting shape.

Having watched the shape for a moment she pulls herself away to look at Beast, then back at the shape again. Hmm. With a hand she gestures to the light while giving Beast a quizzical look. If the shape was meant to be modeled after his own head then she sees the resemblance, sort of.]

[Oh... a slight blush and a droop of the ears in embarrassment as he gives her an awkward smile. To tell her the truth, he doesn't really know what he was thinking... but it maybe was himself. The shape shrinks a little as this happens.]

[Hey now, it's nothing to get embarrassed over! Using her own powers, Fuuko buffs the shape with her own light so it grows larger and brighter before sending it back towards Beast. No matter what he was trying to make it was still rather impressive all the same. The head of a bear is quite a bit more complicated than a starfish after all.]
