Mass-Interaction in Desset

Who: Draftees.
What: FIGHT FOR YOUR LIVES... or wander around. idfk.
When: Anytime this week.
Where: Desset City
Summary: Mass-interaction post in the city for the poor souls who've been drafted.
Rating: Anywhere from PG to R.

[With permission from the mods, I've gone ahead and put up this... post... for everyone who was interested in actually threading in the city. You can either prose or write in first-person; totally up to you. Actually threading a fight with the Third Party is also optional. Just keep in mind that if you do you'll have to be the one controlling the enemy's actions and whatnot. If you're not sure how to go about that, just remember the information they've provided us with. They're not very tough, but if you still need an idea with how they fight, just read up on this a bit. Please do remember that the enemies we're fighting are weaker compared to the ones previously fought, though. |D;

But yeah. Mass-interaction, guys. YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO.]

[Albert has been trying to keep away from the fighting as much as possible. He has been capturing information in his journal and avoiding areas where there has been fighting or places where he's seen Third Party patrols.

That isn't to say he's been entirely successful.

Depending on what day and time you catch him, his situation may be different. Sunday saw him being followed by a giant owl until Ted stole it before he started traveling with Kratos. Monday saw him still with Kratos until a fight broke out and they were chased apart. What could possibly go wrong later on?]

[ooc: For the record, I am keeping track of some things Albert does in the city. As such, parts of threads may end up somehow captured in unhackable journal entries.]

Mercury's a more active fighter. But every now and then she needs information herself, or falls back to regroup before going back to the battle. It's one of those times that she runs into Albert.

"Do you plan to fight with your journal?"
chikaidestroyer: (Glance through a fringe)

[personal profile] chikaidestroyer 2010-03-18 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
And to think, Albert hasn't had the pleasure to meet Mercury yet. Although he isn't a fighter by any means, he has brought along a satchel and a staff -- the latter borrowed from Raine. He frowns at the approaching draftee.

"I don't plan to fight."

[identity profile] no-use-running.livejournal.com 2010-03-18 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
"This is a battlefield." Her words are blunt. She gives their surroundings a glance as if she means right here, too.

[personal profile] chikaidestroyer 2010-03-18 03:10 am (UTC)(link)
"Of course it is." His words are equally blunt, but his expression is confident. "Our captors do not distinguish between combatants and noncombatants."

Albert looks at the blue-haired soldier and her stern look. He refrains from smirking. "Of course."

[identity profile] no-use-running.livejournal.com 2010-03-18 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
Who are you? If you plan to be here, we should meet formally.
chikaidestroyer: (Nonchalance)

[personal profile] chikaidestroyer 2010-03-18 05:36 am (UTC)(link)
"Albert Silverberg." It isn't as if he has any reason to not give his name. "And you are?"

[identity profile] no-use-running.livejournal.com 2010-03-18 06:10 am (UTC)(link)
"Mercury." She doesn't give any more name than that. Of course, it is her name.

[Ted would like to believe that he either borrowed it, or that the owl had tricked him and he had been innocent about the whole ordeal. The first one was slightly more appealing since he actually sounds like he had control over what happened.

But, anyway, after trekking forever and just narrowly avoiding getting attacked for the nth time sometime after he met up with Noel, he finally spots a familiar face. He couldn't avoid one ambush though and well... he wasn't exactly happy at the result if his limp is any indication. Staying outside for that long with a badly bruised leg really does wonders for his pride.]

Albert.

[It has been awhile since Albert has seen Ted. The strange ways that the Malnosso decide to remove draftees from the battlefield (he has noticed that he seems to get in much later than others and leave a little earlier) has led to infrequent run-ins with the other draftees.

He walks forward to meet Ted, his borrowed staff tapping arrhythmically on the cement.]

You're limping, Ted.

[identity profile] 300yrswandering.livejournal.com 2010-03-18 10:44 am (UTC)(link)
It's nothing I can't handle. [For now, at least. He'd be in trouble if he runs into any more opponents.] I'm going to have to ask for replacement scrolls though.

[... Assuming the owl is with him though, Ted might give the owl a halfhearted glare (which he'll deny is a pout, because he never pouts) for leaving him behind, otherwise, he turns to Albert.] I hope you fared better than me, at least.

No water scrolls? [Albert glanced back down at Ted's injured leg pointedly. Meanwhile, the giant owl spares Ted a brief stare before preening its feathers busily.]

I haven't had any harmful encounters yet. [Though it did somewhat sting his pride when he had to evade or retreat so often.]

[identity profile] 300yrswandering.livejournal.com 2010-03-18 11:05 am (UTC)(link)
I only had two, and one of them got destroyed before I even had the chance to use it. [Stupid owl.]

At least that makes one of us. Sorry about disappearing, at that.
chikaidestroyer: (Glance through a fringe)

[personal profile] chikaidestroyer 2010-03-18 05:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Destroyed... Hn. [Albert opens his satchel to see just how many scrolls he's carrying. The only water scroll he has at the moment is a Kindness Rain. He takes out a Healing Wind scroll and offers it to Ted as he continues speaking.]

Do not worry; there was no harm done on my side. [On your side, on the other hand...] I did wonder what happened when I didn't see you again. Did you lose the owl at some point?

[identity profile] 300yrswandering.livejournal.com 2010-03-19 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks.

[Taking advantage of that scroll's power now.] Mid-flight. I'm not sure how that happened.
chikaidestroyer: (Patiently explaining)

[personal profile] chikaidestroyer 2010-03-19 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
[He gives the owl a look. The owl tilts its head, almost innocently.]

I suppose that's why you need a saddle for riding something like an owl. At least you weren't dropped into the midst of enemies. [Trying to be a little optimistic here.] How many cultists did you see?

[Locked to Albert]

[identity profile] derek-bliss.livejournal.com 2010-03-18 11:42 am (UTC)(link)
[Eventually, Derek will start sending in video to Albert; anything from individual buildings, to rooms inside where he's found members of the Third Party (often, these shots will include images of various soldier; all of them tied up, unconscious, and wounded in some way that would keep them off the battlefield for awhile), anything useful he finds, such as weapons caches, and rooftop shots to help triangulate where exactly Derek is in relation to their original drop off point. He even manages to make it to this enclosure's barrier, and takes a picture of that, too.]

[It's awhile later before Albert responds, as he can't stop to watch the video out in the open. He looks at what Derek has been recording once he has taken cover in a building. The recording of the him reaching the edge of the city and its barrier is interesting.]

So the barrier is up even with the cultists here.

[It would seem so. Been following the perimeter for a bit. Enclosure's pretty big. Anything specific you need me to look out for?]

Be on the look out for high concentrations of the enemy -- groups of 15 or more. We will need to do some cooperative work to clear out those numbers.

Will do. Biggest pocket I've found so far was about six, although a lot of their holes indicate there may be more out in the field during the times I was there.

Do we have an overall plan yet, or is everyone still doing their own thing more or less?

[personal profile] chikaidestroyer 2010-03-21 08:26 am (UTC)(link)
It's been difficult to keep our numbers together. It certainly doesn't help that we have some who won't fight alongside others.

I will look for notable landmarks for us to meet up. Once we know if there are places the cultists are concentrated in, we will meet at a landmark and collaborate for an effective attack from there.

Yeah, that does make it harder. Might be something to bring up back in town, although if I recall, Buffy had a hard time of getting anyone to listen last time. Still, until we can get 'em to listen, might be good to keep trying to push it if we can. The more prepared we are off the field, the easier it'll be to get folks organized once they're pulled in.

Will do. I'll keep sending you visuals as I can, and start looking for bigger groups. Let me know when to come back in; I'll be there. The Malnosso have been leaving me out here unless I actually park myself and grab a nap.
