Summary: The Malnosso are testing their experiments still. Maybe they should just reuse the same test subjects in new ways? Well, who's it going to hurt? No one that matters.

W-well, yes, but... [He tilts his head. ...he did not realize that electricity could just stop working. This is completely new information.]

The weather has been known to do some strange things. Please tell me you recall the electricity not working when the earthquake struck.

Didn't it? [...hmmm. He shrugs.] I don't recall.

[He really, really doesn't.]

[... ...And yet he can't say he's surprised by this. Why is he trying to justify this action for Caesar, anyway?] Shall I make the decision for you?

[He won't admit it, but he's actually a little embarrassed right now. He knew he had been distracted by what happened to his brother, but not that distracted.]

You mean you haven't already?

...I'll go get the axe for you.

[He shakes his head and reaches for the doorknob, tugging on the door--]

[--and then he stumbles back slightly as the entire door tears off of the hinges.]

[...what did he just—

Is Albert holding the door in his hand.]

Wh... What did you do?

[Albert is so stunned by what just happened that his first reaction is to drop the door he is holding up by the handle. This quickly proves to be a bad idea, by the way the door creaks as it careens towards the floor. He quickly manages to grab the door before it solidly cracks into the floor or something.]

It appears that I am affected by the experiment. [Finally? They were already approaching the end of the week.]

[How is he just...? The door seems as light as a feather with the way Albert is handling it. Caesar had been prepared for weird things once it was obvious that this experiment was a little unusual, but this was not something he was ready for.]

M-maybe...

[He has no idea what else he's supposed to say.]

[Similarly, Albert isn't quite sure what to do with the door. He experimentally lifts it with one hand, eyes widening fractionally as he cracks the door against the door frame, leaving a visible dent in it. In an effort to set aside the door before he does anything else to it, he manages to turn the door sideways and snap the top hinge entirely off as it catches on the dented door frame.

...

And with that, he stops moving, door still in one hand. He might be a little wary of doing anything else right now.]

[All Caesar can do is watch this little scene. He doesn't know what to say, and he doesn't know what to do. He isn't even sure how to feel about this. It was so strange that it was something he might laugh at when he looks back on it. But now?

...]

H-hey... [He takes a step up to the porch.] Maybe you should, uh... Give me that.

That may be for the best. [Albert very carefully turns towards Caesar, still holding the door. He gestures with his free hand.] Just set it next to the doorway.

Y-yeah. [Caesar nods and... awkwardly reaches for the door. Albert made it look so easy, but he wasn't even sure if he could carry it. Uh. Hmm. Maybe he'll just—

Okay. Definitely not as light as a feather. It's difficult, but he'll try to move it toward the doorway anyway.]

[Just watching Caesar struggle with the door gives Albert a headache, and he shakes his head slowly as he tries to understand what had just happened.] ...Wonderful. I suppose I have errands to run, now.

I suppose— [Ugh, why did you break the door, Albert. Caesar is just about ready to drop the damn thing before he's finally able to leave it next to... where it is supposed to be. He takes a breath before he speaks again.] I suppose it would be too much trouble to wait for it to fix itself.

If you do not collect firewood, it's even more trouble than it is now. [Yes, he hasn't forgotten about that, even if he doesn't look particularly pleased thinking of doing things in this condition.] So you better get to work.

W-wait a minute, you're just going to leave me here to chop wood? Don't you think you're more suited for this task than I am? [That was true normally, but if Albert could lift a door like it was nothing...]

...Do you really want to see me holding a sharp object in this condition? [They're thinking on the same wavelength here, for once.]

Just don't hurt yourself. I don't care if you cut down a few trees in the process. [But he knows that won't happen. Albert had asked him to do this before he realized something was off. Although, now that he thought about it...] You can't go to the store like that, either, you know.

I can ask someone to open the door for me, if that is what you are concerned about. I cannot collect firewood and ask someone else to pick up the logs for me.

[There is no difference between these things for Caesar.]

How is he even supposed to respond to that?]

[And he stares back.]

I'll have you know that I learned how to chop wood on my own when I arrived, too. It was a necessity.
