We are the named and we are known
Who: All Draftees
What: Arriving at the dorms
When: 26th
Where: Dorms, location unknown
Summary: Dorm information is here. This is your room!
Rating: PG... we hope?
Your characters are shuffling off to their rooms. Each room has their name beside it and only they can open the door. People can only enter their room if they're allowed in (or they leave the door open). Characters will find any requested items in their room already. If they have a requested vehicle, there will be another door in their room that will take them to the hangar to inspect their equipment.
((Mod note: Extra draftees won't experience their Shift Incompatibility handicap in their dorms. :|a))

Hey, man.
no subject
Yo, how's it going?
no subject
...As well as can be expected for the circumstances, I guess.
no subject
I imagine, weren't you drafted as well not long ago though?
no subject
...Speaking of, is there anything you might want to know about them? I've fought 'em before, so if you need to know anything, I'll tell you what I can.

[He chuckles a bit before thinking about Adell's next comment.]
Well, I suppose that anything would be good. Oh, do they wear armors?

Elites have some minor Shifting powers themselves, sort of like magic. If you see one, it's probably better to retreat. They're strong, and they would very likely beat you in a one-on-one unless you get a lucky shot. Don't mess with the Elites unless you have no choice. I can't stress that enough.

[After all even if the armors aren't bullet-proof it would always be better to aim to the weak points of the armor.]
I'm not going to go after the enemy, honestly. I'll stay with those who can't fight and protect them. I can help with the long range and switch to mid-close range if I have to.
no subject
And sticking back to help defend is a good idea. I only hope you never have to fire a single shot out there.

[He finishes putting the rifle back in shape and checks if it's well leveled b y mocking aim at a wall before he puts it down. He's obviously experienced with this somehow.]
But after thinking about it, I can't go just with my push-knives and it's not as if I have many of them to throw them around carelessly. So I'll have to deal with this while I'm out here, good thing I won't have to bring them back home with me.

But I guess given the circumstance, safety does take priority.

[It wouldn't be entirely correct though. For some time, guns and rifles fascinated him, the way they were made, the way they worked, specially rifles with snipping... The choice of the target, the aiming, how to get away from the scene quickly and easily leaving no trace of his presence behind... They had been just model guns and model rifles, but the thrill was the same, the interest was the same. It was... Exciting, unpredictable, interesting. Would he be caught today? Would someone figure out who had been? Had someone seen him?
Maybe it wasn't really fascination. Anything would have done, he had just wanted a challenge, something interesting, new, and a way to get out his frustrations. A way to get praise, even if it was negative, even if it was in the form of many people being scared and worried, it was still a form of praise for him. Because he had managed to get them that way.
A bit more twisted... A bit more over the edge and maybe he wouldn't have even cared if the weapons were real. But he had still retained enough sense and humanity to not want to seriously hurt anyone, that was why he went with model guns, why he shoot at them while they had their backs to him, aiming to the legs and butt... Until a child turned instead of running away upon being shot, and he missed his aim.
Part of him still finds weapons fascinating. There's a part of him almost thrilled by the idea of how it will be to aim again, to aim at the enemy, would be be able to get to their wings? How many shots would it take to incapacitate them? He didn't want to kill them, just getting them down was enough. But it was a small part, a very small part, almost drowned, a mere echo of an old Keiichi mixed with innate curiosity. ]
I suppose it's because they are the best long-range weapon unless one uses magic. Bows lack the potency of a gun after all.

But speaking purely from a comparative standpoint, it ultimately depends on what you're looking to do. A gun is much easier to use, and depending on the type of bullet you're shooting, they can be pretty brutal. But one thing that can be said about arrows is that they do carry a lot of weight behind them. If you get hit with one, odds are, it's probably gonna knock a normal person over, especially if the bow has a really taught drawstring.
Bows do have their advantages too, such as being able to shoot in an arc. I suppose it depends on a number of factors. And I guess the Netherworld's not exactly a fair place to compare.
