[With such a small number of people to look after, Caesar will be keeping a pretty good eye on everyone. Seriously. He'll be overseeing things, which means that if you don't approach him at some point, he'll probably approach you, just to see how you're doing.

Otherwise, Caesar will not be difficult to reach, at any point in time. He may be busier at some times than others, but for the most part, this strategist is readily available if anyone needs to talk to him.]

That's what I like to hear. [He pauses thoughtfully, considering something.] How did you make them, anyway? I'm afraid I'm not very familiar with how your magic works, exactly.

The Metal elemental spells allow me to reshape and summon metallic elements. Basically I used that to craft the shields themselves, and while they were forming used the Sun, Moon, and Water elements to imbue them with the specialized seal.

[ When he sees the familiar face, Alf approaches Caesar. He'll bring up the group's mission, sure, but he's more looking at Caesar as an acquaintance than a mere leader right now. He gives a friendly wave as he comes closer. ]

Just fine. We won't have much to worry about until the Hunting group sets out, but I have confidence that they can handle it. Are you well?

I am quite all right, thank you. [He also gives a nod.] To tell the truth, it's actually a little unusual! It's been a long while since I've only had to work with such a small group of people.

I've dealt with smaller groups from time to time at home, but ever since coming to Luceti, I've had to take care of much larger ones. Even with multiple strategists involved, there aren't enough people capable of advising too many small groups.

I see . . . Still, that's quite impressive of you. Not everyone possesses the qualities of an adviser, and to generally handle larger groups is something of note. I feel assured to have you as our strategist.

And I assure you that your confidence is not misplaced! [He smirks. So flattering, Alf.] I suppose it was a little daunting at first, but the ability to adapt is really important for a strategist. It was something of a new challenge.

A new challenge you must've enjoyed. One doesn't always fight on the same terrain, after all.

They really send us to some interesting environments when it comes to these drafts. Fighting in a place like this isn't new to me, though.

I would think the farmlands are a common area for warfare. For how long have you been at this?

I've been studying about it ever since I was a kid, but I hadn't participated in a real war until... [He pauses briefly, tilting his head for a moment. He had been in this place for a while now, so it was strange thinking of the time difference.] Hmm. Two years ago, I guess.

Two years isn't a very long time . . . but it's certainly enough to have gotten the handle of things, especially when you've studied for a long while.

[ And even more especially if there was an actual war occurring at the time. You learn better and faster during the real thing, as they say. ]

By that time, you already have a good idea of what you can expect, but it's better to experience it yourself. [Because Caesar was definitely the type who learned better when he was actually dealing with the situation.] Of course, not many can claim to be a successful strategist already by my age.

Indeed. Ideally, working with an existing group in a real situation would be the best. [ Not only do you get the hands on experience, you get to know your troops. That's the greatest part. ]

It's very impressive. Forming strategies can be difficult.
