[Ah, Nami. He knows what she's doing and appreciates the gesture to give him some space. Her offer is met with a small, weak smile - but it's there, all the same.]

Thank you, Nami-san. [Not that he's very hungry, but damn if he won't eat something to keep his mind off other things. So he reaches... then halts the automatic gesture upon remembering that, ha, you kinda need sight to know where things are. Gotta wait for her to give it to him.

Jeez. If it were anyone but her or the crew, this would be so... and even still, his pride.]

How's it going so far? [Just cover it up. Don't think about it right now. They're in battle, even if away from most of the action]

[She'll catch his wrist in one fluid movement and turn his hand over gently, depositing a sandwich half in his palm.] So far, so good. Of course, it's the first day, and the fighting will be a lot heavier elsewhere. [So casual.] We've had a couple of injured come back, but nothing too serious.

Sayo's coping okay. [Because she knows he'd worry. Excuse her, taking a bite out of her own sandwich.]

But he can't help but brighten at the news that Sayo is doing well.] That's good to hear. She was worried about getting in the way. [A careful bite of his sandwich. Bless repetition for making this part easy.]

Well, she's certainly keeping busy. I won't say she's not nervous, but...those are her sandwiches we're eating. [Nom. When he's done with the first half, she'll give him the second.]

[They are? Well then. Sanji eats with a little more gusto and pep, obviously warmed by the news. He can't waste the food Sayo-san so painstakingly made.

It's the question that wipes some of his good mood away. Mmm.

Nami's got a right to ask, though. And so he smiles at her, stronger than before but still weary] Honestly? Been better. [Turning his head back to the half-finished sandwich in his hands]

But you're right. This'll probably be temporary. Maybe when we get back to our rooms, it'll come back. [And he'll have to go through this again, until they're sent home. Even still, it won't last. He's just got to keep telling himself so he won't forget]

... Jeez. Even making a joke at Zoro's expense is just another reminder how much he hates these Malnosso bastards. And how apparently, he'll have to give Catherine a tad more credit - the guy hadn't been lying about the incompatibility]
