DOESN'T NEED A CUT. People should know how this works, if not, just follow other people's lead. I'm gonna set up some strategist threads at the top, for the four strategists to use if they want to, otherwise people should start their own threads.

Sadly, he doesn't get to "see" you that first day, but a rather moody pirate is on the prowl day 2, and toting a legion of baddies behind him. And by legion I mean five.

Sanji feels insulted]

[ Oh well, so much for taking a break. Allow him to whip out the knives and come to assist you.

...also no. No, Hughes feels insulted. CRAZY DAREDEVIL ATTITUDE, DID YOU FORGET THEY CAN FLY and such. :| ]

All that this merits is an "is that it?"

Really?

Oh, hey Hughes! [Yes, that's all it merits. 8| Hughes is about to find out why when one of the fighters darts in for a blow to the stomach.

The sword doesn't even graze his suit. Sanji slams his leg down on the neck for a bloodless kill, then gets ready for the next dance.

... You're free to jump in, Hughes. Don't let Sanji steal all the fun]

[ Sigh.

Another Shonen.

He really should have expected this kind of thing out of you, upon looking back. ]

[ Jumping in is officially added onto the plan, then. And so he does. Hughes makes a target of the one nearest him- namely by running up and waiting for the enemy to come to him, because jumping six feet vertically doesn't work for average 30-year-olds, wouldn't you know.

A knife through that soldier's hand to get that sword out of the question, and aha, that's definitely distraction enough to get in closer and drive another through the temple.

He'll just grimace a little as that goes down. Bloodless kills are hard to get when you rely on blades and bullets. ]

[Even if your methods are messier than Sanji's, awarding you points for sheer badass normal levels. It'll make this fight a lot simpler, if he doesn't have to worry about protecting the father of his little sister.]

Hughes. Duck. [It's the only warning the man gets, and Sanji's already flipped himself into a handstand, warming up until mimicking the force of a whirlwind. And when those kicks land on two of the three opponents still standing...]

[ Good thing he's used to the teamwork prospect or there would have been a completely different reason for not having to worry about your little sister's father.

As it is, he hits the ground like a BOSS and spends that attack's timespan wondering why the hell he can't befriend anybody average since he's gotten here. Hughes makes a note to check if they're still breathing in a minute, but for now it looks like the time to make a ~~panicked~~ strategic roll away from mister last-man-standing's attack (like it's easier to hit a man on the ground or something, what the hell, dude). He'll come out of it with a pistol cocked and ready to fire. ]

[So you're still alive over there? Glad to know he didn't kick your noggin off.

Only one of the men Sanji physically compromised is able to move, and trying to use his sword as a cane in order to pull himself to his feet. It's with his face set in stone that Sanji finishes the job - leaving what looks like a crater-like bruise embedded in the chest.]

[ It doesn't take more than one well-aimed bullet to handle the last one left standing. Hughes keeps a wary eye out as he holsters the pistol and makes his way back over. Plenty of time to spot that finishing blow, but he makes it a point not to flinch.

This is war, after all. It's not the first time he's seen something like it: it won't be the last. This isn't a time for saying he's sorry and there's no room for pitying the enemy. ]

... Five down, then. Take a breather while you have the chance.

[Sanji doesn't need a breather, being the damn shounen hero that he is. But he says nothing after Hughes finishes off his target with the methodical coldness of someone who's done it before. Then he fishes out a cigarette, looking away]

... Alright.

You headin' somewhere?

I'm drifting from area to area on the off-chance that I come across someone who could use a hand.

[ or you know, some reckless young shounen hero dragged five soldiers along with him. ]

I've had the chance to be surprisingly freelance today.

Playing the hero, huh? [It's light teasing, for what it's worth, and Sanji begins to move again - closer to where he knows the medical tent is]

[ Moving, are we? Not that you now have a travel-buddy, Mister Enemy Magnet. ]

Oh, you're overestimating me, Sanji. I'm entirely too selfish to be playing the hero out here.

[ I mean come on. Elicia > heroics. ]

I'll keep that in mind the next time five shitheads start tailing me.

[Hey now, Hughes, don't jinx it. And Hughes has proved himself to be pretty damn useful in the fight - Sanji's okay with a travel-buddy]

The next time you're running in my direction with five soldiers tailing you, I'll just stay back unless it looks like your freakish leg strength can't handle them.

[ Not as unusual as alchemy is, though. ]

[It's pretty sad when Sanji's considered less unusual by anyone's standards]

You never know; I might trip over a rock and that'll be it for me.

...that would be a pretty embarrassing way to go. Should I change the story to include another ten or twenty Third Party members if it happens that way?
