[Tear's Force Field manages to deflect any of the soldiers still coming their way, providing brief protection to their group as she rushes to Richard's side, silently cursing herself for having allowed him out of her sight. It had been careless of her, and she did not intend for it to happen again now that they found him.

Quickly she manages to strike down the soldier who had been attacking the king, piercing the wings with her staff to the best of her ability. If he survived, she would be ready to take him down again.

Turning to Richard now, her guard still at its height while preparing to heal him if need be.]

Your Highness, are you all right?

[Oh, so there you two are oi, and who's that gorgeous lady. You guys suck for taking so long.

... Well, not Tear on principle, but damn it, Asbel, put a leash on your king. Sanji halts upon seeing Richard's got the support he needs, turns on his heel and with a mouth set in annoyance like he's lost his nicotine kick, marches right back to his original offensive position.

A good thing, too. The last wave consists of ten, all swooping quickly down on the group. Sanji's just glad he's got assholes to take his adrenaline rush off on]

Damn winged-bastards... [Another launch into the air, with a right leg that's glowing red hot and angry, and punches down on six of them as Sanji spins in the air with a yell - the bodies go down like bullets]

KYO THAT IS A HILARIOUSLY IRONIC ICON USE THERE

Y-yes, I'm fine.

[It takes him a moment to get to his feet, and once he does, he stands, swaying, as he tries to regain his balance. Sanji's action draws his eyes up to the air... and then he sees them, the four fighters still remaining, still swooping towards them, though they seem somewhat more hesitant now that the chef has just taken out six of their number.

Too many for an Avenger Bite. And so Richard's crouching down into a casting pose and forcing his brain to focus on the spell, no matter how hard it may be. Just a little more... a little more...

... and with a triumphant cry of "Lightning Blaster!", a bolt of purple lightning erupts outward from his hand, which he then sweeps around in an attempt to catch all four Third Party members in its arc.

The spell completed, he falls to his knees, breathing hard.]

I DO WHAT I CAN

[Lightning Blaster... That was one of Cheria's spells... When did Richard learn THAT?

...No, never mind. Questions can come later. Asbel goes after the four remaining that Richard had just hit with Lightning Blaster, striking them with an Infernal Torrent, followed by a cry of "I'll tear you to shreds!", finishing them off with a Blade Tempest, ending in a sword sheath.

Okay, time to run over to Richard and check on him.]

[Tear immediately begins to cast First Aid on Richard when he falls to his knees, watching closely as the soft green light envelops him while doing her best to keep him sitting up. It won't do much to actually make him get well sooner, but it would alleviate his symptoms for now. Meanwhile she is biting back her urge to chastise him; there would be no use doing that when the deed is already done and there were still other soldiers around.

Her eyes turn to Asbel as he approaches, mouth set in a grim line. How could the Malnosso force him to fight when he clearly is not in the right state to do so?] We need to get him out of here, closer to the non-combatants if need be.

[Sanji, being the last to approach, double-checks to make sure the skies are clear before giving his attention to Richard on his knees.]

... We'll take him to a guy named Law. He's the head of the makeshift medical center up where the defense is strongest. There's plenty of fighters who'll keep the area safe and let him rest.

[It takes Richard a few long moments before his breathing steadies enough for him to speak. The expression on his face when he finally looks up is one of guilt, and he's barely meeting Asbel and Sanji's eyes before glancing back down again.]

Thank you, all of you. I'm sorry for causing so much trouble.

[Asbel nods at Sanji, then proceeds to get underneath Richard to help him to his feet.]

Richard, you aren't causing trouble for any of us. It's my fault for letting you out of my sight when I should be protecting you.

[Any other time she would have had a harsh reply to that, but Richard seems to be going through so much that she can't bring herself to just yet. It would be better to leave that to Asbel as she stays close by, ready to help carry him if needed.]

Don't worry about it, Your Highness. The important thing is that we get you to safety.

[Sanji turns and says nothing... because frankly, yes, Richard is causing trouble with his attitude and pitiful lack of self-worth. That? Is dangerous on the battlefield. But like Tear's surmised, it's just not the place for it.

He'll wait until Richard is on his feet before leading them all to the medical center]
