[Good humour to ease the stress a bit. He promised Katara that he'd look after you if you came his way, and here you are.

[And suddenly she grins. It's a little strained -- okay, a lot strained -- but as she walks forward she opens the messenger bag slung over her shoulder and produces a thermos.]

It's not a pot or two, but I can offer a cup or two. Not as fresh as I would like, either. I got it this morning from the room.

[She hops up to sit on an empty bed, meeting his assessing gaze with a mild look of her own. Yeah, she sees that look.]

I smacked my wrist against the edge of a table earlier. It's the only injury I'm sporting, I swear. I'm not even sure it's going to bruise much.

[With that, she holds out the thermos. Relax, doc. Just for a moment. It'll be good.]

Oh, that doesn't matter. Coffee is coffee, and any is good. Thank you.

[So speaks the addict. Thermos gladly accepted. Relaaaaxing.]

[Her smile is a little rueful.] Yes, sir.

[She opens the messenger bag and pulls a granola bar out for herself, and holds another out wordlessly for him.]

For the most part, things aren't bad so far. Nothing too concerning in the long run.

[Glancing at the curtained off rest area for the wounded. His knuckles lightly rap against some nearby wood.]

[She figures there's a few of you "no sleep, no eat, no rest ever" types out here. That's why she's prepared.

She glances toward the curtained off area and can't help the slight wince. She's getting better at this but... She won't lie: it's hard.]

Let's hope it stays that way then. [A pause as she frowns in the curtain's direction and then she turns back to him, tight smile in place.]

You know you can always call for an extra set of hands, right? I got two I'm willing to spare anytime.
