DOESN'T NEED A CUT. People should know how this works, if not, just follow other people's lead. I'm gonna set up some strategist threads at the top, for the four strategists to use if they want to, otherwise people should start their own threads.

Because you've been a thorn in my side long enough! [And Grell is giving chase, swinging the chainsaw the entire time.]

This is the consequence of being rude to me, so take your punishment like a good little boy!

[Again, like hell he will...]

Stay away!

[He'll leap backwards, flinging another dagger towards the death god, aiming for that pretty face.]

[Stepping to the side to avoid that, but the sound of it exploding behind her, causes a pause.]

YOU SO DID NOT JUST AIM AT MY FACE.

[Oh, he sure did aim at your face. Jay pauses as well, making the mental note to himself. When the opponent gets angry, they get stupid, making it easier to counterattack.]

I'll do it again!

[He holds another dagger, waiting for Grell to move again.]

A lady's face is her life! How dare you!

[And now that she's angry, she's faster and is aiming for the vital areas of the head and body.]

I'm going to teach you a lesson you never forget.

The only thing you'll teach me is how insane you are!

[Making another hop backwards, Jay thrusts his dagger into the ground. He leaps over Grell's head, landing several feet away, concentrating his power on the dagger in the ground.]

Wraith Ice!!

[The dagger shoots out from the ground, a cluster of sharp boulders of ice jutting up in its place.]

I am not insane! [Grell jumps up along with the ice boulders, landing on the tip of one.]

I'm unique. There is a difference.

[Seeing Grell land on the tip of the ice certainly startles the boy.]

You're "unique" and insane!

[Grell swings the chainsaw around again and smiles.]

Well, it's a step in the right direction.

[She jumps off, stabbing the chainsaw down at him.]

[He hops back to avoid the chainsaw, but then moves forward, swinging his dagger at her. And yes, he's aiming for the face again.]

[Grell bends back and the dagger passes right in front of her face, sparking another bout of rage. But rather than swing the chainsaw, Grell just up and aims a punch straight at Jay's face.]

[The punch connects squarely, sending the boy to the ground, rolling a few feet. He gets right back up again with a pause. This was getting nowhere. It was about time for a strategic retreat. Unfortunately, the open fields would not let him make a very concealed escape. He'd have to disable the death god somehow.]

[And so he dashes towards Grell, leaping over his head, aiming his dagger to slash at one of his wings.]

[When Jay went sprawling, Grell used the free time to disengage the chainsaw from where it had struck the ground and embedded into the dirt. A few flicks and the engine kicks in again - just in time.

Grell looks up to see Jay running at her, jumping up and over and right where she wants him. The kid came to her, making it easy to turn and slash horizontally across his chest as he made an attempt at her wings. Nasty child was going to learn a hard and bloody lesson.]

[Right when Jay's feet hit the ground, he attempted to leap backwards, but the chainsaw cut him across the chest, barely missing his bones and internal organs, but still drawing a decent amount of blood that sprayed on his face and clothes, and causing a great deal of pain.]

Aargh!

[The boy gave a sharp cry of pain as he tipped backwards, hitting the ground on his back with a thud.]

[The blood that spills onto the chainsaw starts to change as Jay hits the ground and Grell smirks, watching as it turns into film strips. Just a few because the wound needed to be deeper, so much deeper to kill, but enough to cause a reaction.]

Show me, Jayjay. What kind of secrets do you hide in that soul of yours?

[The first thing that shows is Jay as a young boy standing on a cliff with an older man looming over him and scolding him. The man rushes forward, mercilessly punching the boy to the ground.]

"You were abandoned, and I took you in. I'm even training you so you can work."

"Yes, sir. It's all for my sake."

"Then train as if your life depended on it! I have no need for someone who would betray my expectations!"

[The film strip plays by and then disappears and Grell watches it go. She laughs a bit at the sight of Jay being punched and scolded.]

[Another film strip plays a similar scene, with young Jay dropping a small bell on the ground. The man scolds him once again.]

"You're still carrying this little bell? I thought I told you to throw it away. As long as you cling to garbage like that, you'll never grow strong."

"But...this is the only clue I have to finding my family. So please, let me have that bell...just that bell..."

"I'll hold onto it until your skills have matured. So train as if your life depended on it! After all, even if you did die, no one would shed a tear! An instrument of killing has no need for emotion! You and this dagger are one and the same! Shed your humanity and become as this instrument!"

"Yes, sir..."

[So an orphan? Abandoned? Unwanted. Grell smirks and snaps the chainsaw back, throwing the last of the blood off the now silent blade. One final look and then she'll leave the boy to bleed out.

Or maybe she can finish him off here and see if what his memories say is true.]

[Now it shows young Jay staggering down a road, severely injured, before he collapses completely. Three brown otter-like creatures quickly rush over to him. Then it cuts to shorter scenes of the boy living together with the otters, growing physically, and gradually growing more cheerful. Cut once again to the recent past, where the old man returns, and Jay is once again cringing on the ground in pain.]

"The Oresoren, was it? What a charming and friendly bunch. I wonder what color their blood is. I wonder what it sounds like when they cry out in pain."

"Stop! Leave the Oresoren alone!"

"I'm getting excited just thinking about it. Little otters running in panic, screaming and crying, begging for their lives as they die. I'm sure it'll be a marvelous sight! Ah hah hah hah hah hah!"

[On the ground, Jay's face flickers in agony, his fingers twitching. The discomfort of seeing those unpleasant memories flashing before him is quite clear.]

[So that's it, is it? Raised by a man who didn't care for him, taken in by otters of all things, then becoming the reason why so many of them died? Grell is ever so tempted to plunge the deathscythe into Jay's chest and finish him off then and there, but the agony in the boy's face stays her hand.

It's worse to live with these memories fresh than to feel the sweet embrace of oblivion and death.

Instead, she leans down close to his ear and whispers:]

I have my eye on you, Jayjay.

[Then she stands, swings the chainsaw up onto one shoulder and walks away.]
