welcome to the jungle / it gets worse here everyday

Who: All draftees
What: Arriving at the (temporary) dorms
When: 9 AM of the 3rd. They'll be able to stay there until 1 PM of the same day.
Where: Dorms; location unknown.
Summary: Here is the hallway; here is your room. (Here is some additional info.) Go forth and mingle.
Rating: PG or PG-13 ish, I imagine.

Whether by their own power or by droid, your characters are arriving one by one to the dorms. Each room is specific to a single character; others can only be invited in by that character's allowance. Requested effects will already be present in the rooms. While you're here, you may want to request some last-minute supplies... this is your final chance to gather them. A final note: Shift incompatibilities will not kick in while characters are in the dorms; only once they are out in the field.

[Nox, upon arriving wastes no time in locating his room and immediately getting to work requesting various materials, and immediately upon receiving them, he begins to construct Noxines (http://www.wakfufan.fr/files/1/images/1persos/e1-4.png). He is also constructing some sort of array that appears to be several magnifying glasses of varying sizes attached onto a small console. The speed at which he is constructing is quite surprising, perhaps a side effect of hundreds of years of experience doing so... Though in his haste it seems he forgot to close his door, if anybody would like to assist the psychopath Xelor in his work.]

[Forget assist, he's just never seen anything like you, before. So he might be pausing in front of that open door. And staring.

Pretty frankly staring. Hohh and it's making things too...must... know...]

[identity profile] brb-20-minutes.livejournal.com 2011-06-07 02:37 am (UTC)(link)
[Staring, everybody always stares.]

Is there something you need?

[identity profile] one-green-eye.livejournal.com 2011-06-07 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
Just watching. [frankly curious. Apparently unconcerned about whether that's a socially acceptable answer.]

What are those?

[identity profile] brb-20-minutes.livejournal.com 2011-06-07 02:45 am (UTC)(link)
Noxines. They are fueled off of life energy, and can be used to transmit images back to that console.

[He motions, in a strangely mechanical way, almost as if his arm were the hand of a clock, to the strange and half finished console on the other side of the room]

[identity profile] one-green-eye.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
Life energy... what do you mean, by that term? I've heard it used in varying ways.

[the motion doesn't escape him, he's very interested by it. He hasn't met anyone of quite this constitution.]

[identity profile] brb-20-minutes.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
The energy that gives you life, some call it your soul, others have fancier names for it, but still, when it boils down to it.. It's simply the force at work keeping you alive, and if it can fuel your body, it can fuel other things.

[identity profile] one-green-eye.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
So can they draw it from any source? Or is it you, making them move and function?

[identity profile] brb-20-minutes.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
They're automatic, and can drain it from just about anything, live, or freshly killed. I supply the initial fueling from my own life, and simply let them gather enough to replenish me afterwards....

A demonstration will be better.

[He teleports over to the request button in a blue flash, and requests a small potted tree, which he then places next to a Noxine, and activates it. It'll crawl up to the bottom of the tree, and produce a small stinger from the back of itself, stabbing the tree and sucking it dry in just a few seconds, causing it to wither and crumble away shortly after.]

I can also draw back anything they have drained into myself, thus ensuring my longevity.

[a slight tick of one eyebrow, over the green eye, is the only reaction.] Huhhhhh.

So you're powered the same way?

[identity profile] brb-20-minutes.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 04:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Similarly, yes... Xelors, as they age, begin to turn to sand under their bandages, I am no exception to this... But with sufficient willpower, a Xelor can prolong their life indefinitely, so long as they have energy to sustain it.

[identity profile] one-green-eye.livejournal.com 2011-06-18 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
....indefinitely.

Would you want to prolong it, for so long? What's the cost?

[identity profile] brb-20-minutes.livejournal.com 2011-06-18 03:19 pm (UTC)(link)
We'll just say that I'm waiting for somebody. Somebody very important... Though I suppose you could say that they're the ones waiting for me.

[identity profile] one-green-eye.livejournal.com 2011-06-19 07:32 am (UTC)(link)
It sounds like a long time to wait-- if it's longer than one life-span. [with the lilt of a question]

[identity profile] brb-20-minutes.livejournal.com 2011-06-19 07:48 am (UTC)(link)
Several, yes.. But I suppose when you have an endless amount of time to live, patience is a useful skill, hm?

[identity profile] one-green-eye.livejournal.com 2011-06-19 07:59 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, I'd have to agree. [he's helped people attain the same, after all] If the purpose is compelling enough.
