welcome to the jungle / it gets worse here everyday

Who: All draftees
What: Arriving at the (temporary) dorms
When: 9 AM of the 3rd. They'll be able to stay there until 1 PM of the same day.
Where: Dorms; location unknown.
Summary: Here is the hallway; here is your room. (Here is some additional info.) Go forth and mingle.
Rating: PG or PG-13 ish, I imagine.

Whether by their own power or by droid, your characters are arriving one by one to the dorms. Each room is specific to a single character; others can only be invited in by that character's allowance. Requested effects will already be present in the rooms. While you're here, you may want to request some last-minute supplies... this is your final chance to gather them. A final note: Shift incompatibilities will not kick in while characters are in the dorms; only once they are out in the field.

That's what they all say. Then they find out that psychology isn't all centered around Freud and wind up complaining. [She giggles under her breath, a bit more relaxed by the topic change. The alcohol helps too.]

Freud? Who is Freud? [He's a little confused because he's never heard of someone by that name before.]

What are you-- oh right. He probably wasn't even born yet around your time. He's considered to be the father of psychology, but really most psychologist don't even like some of his larger theories. Like how almost all adult problems can be explained by repressed childhood abuse, according to him. At least that's some of the general gist of his core theories.

[He nods and takes care to listen to her.] I see, he must have been after my time since I have never heard of him until you mentioned him now. He sounds like an interesting person.

[She nods and then reaches to the side to take out a book she stuffed into the backpack she plans to take with her into the wild.]

Here.

[She hands Frederic a copy of The Interpretation of Dreams.]

It isn't really the go-to book, but it was one of the first works in the field.

[He looks at the title of the book and seems a little taken back at first, but also fascinated.]

I wonder if I could use this for my dreams.

Yeah probably. All 615 pages of it!

615 pages? That's quite a long book.

Yeah, but its a good read if you're interested in it. I doubt you could finish everything before the Malnosso take us back to the enclosure, but you could always take it out in the library.

Yes, that is what I planned on once we return to the village.
