[On that second night, something besides the enemy is flying around the camp. A weird pink shape, in fact, floating around up in the canopy...]

[bamfing]

[... okay, he spots something in the air. It's not moving like a soldier does, but it's suspicious all the same, so Kurt quickly BAMFs up to a higher point in the trees so he can start stalking this flying figure from the same level.]

[sundead]

[la la, flying around, watching for enemies... and then there's a loud BAMFing sound, Ayumu whirls and.... doesn't see anything because his night vision isn't quite as good as Kurt's. But he raises the chainsaw.]

All right, I know you're out there!

[bamfing]

[... that voice is familiar, but more importantly, it's a voice. Third Party guys never talk to them.]

Whoa, man, relax! [Now that he's getting a better idea of who this is, Kurt fetches a flashlight from his pack, then shines it on himself from below. Actually, given his features, that probably just makes him look scarier.]

It's me!

[sundead]

[aflgd he very nearly revvs the chainsaw right there but he suddenly realizes who he knows with blue fur and pointed ears]

Kurt?

[bamfing]

[Yeah, bad idea. Kurt shines the flashlight on Ayumu instead. It gives him a lot better glimpse of the fellow Brigader than before.]

Ayumu...!? Man, what are you wearing?

[sundead]

[The flashlight may also pick up how his cheeks are now matching his costume. The surprise of suddenly seeing Kurt all the way up here had momentarily made him forget his state of (literal) dress.] D-don't look!

[bamfing]

Dude... is that a dress!?

[He may have to start laughing. He has no choice.]

[sundead]

[if he weren't already dead, he'd wonder if he could die of embarrassment. Kurt is one of the last people he wanted to find out, only higher being Haruhi herself.]

It's not my idea, all right?

[bamfing]

[There's only one reason he can think of why Ayumu would be in a dress in the middle of a battlefield.]

Oh, come on man, you let Haruhi do that to you? This is the middle of a battle, man!

[sundead]

No! [what do you take him for, Kurt...]

It's from the magic. The cuter the outfit, the more powerful the magical girl... or something like that.

[bamfing]

But... you're a guy. [A pause as he thinks about Luceti.] ... aren't you?

[sundead]

[sob, Kurt.... sob] Of course I'm a guy!

[bamfing]

But... you just called yourself a magical girl. [SO... doesn't that mean...?]

[sundead]

[s o b] I'm already aware of the ridiculousness of the situation.

[bamfing]

... right. [... this really isn't the place to chat. He's about to comment again, when he freezes, hearing something. He flips the flashlight off and starts climbing.]

[sundead]

Hey - [he's confused for a moment, until he hears it too. Then he starts to float upward as well, matching Kurt's climbing speed.]

[bamfing]

[There's soldiers flying overhead. They haven't spotted Kurt, because he's dark and blends into the background. But Ayumu... Kurt turns to him and gestures for him to stay down. He wants to see what these soldiers will do first.]

[sundead]

[well then, floating closer to the tree trunk and trying to hide behind the leaves. It's a little hard in the dark, but Kurt is between him and them now.]

[bamfing]

[He turns to Ayumu and whispers.]
