[He didn't expect Kaori to suddenly jump in with her own magic and turns to look at her in surprise for a fraction of a moment. The feeling of having somebody on his side... Not a throw-away, nameless soldier, not an obsequious follower, but a friend who will stick up for him like that...

No time to waste. He adds his own attack to the onslaught, firing another blast of energy toward Raine]

[The girl's attack is the one that takes her off guard, though after it hits her, she stumbles and then ducks down, raising the earth to block against Mithos's attack, which at least are becoming easier to predict.]

I don't have time for this!

Just shut up! [She tries once again to turn that earth against her, but instead opts for sending up spires of it from the ground Raine was standing on. She didn't have time for this, but she had enough time to hurt Mithos in the way she had? Unforgivable.]

[Why won't she just fall, and stay down? Then he can leave and pretend nothing happened. She always has to make everything so difficult.

As Kaori attacks, he begins casting again. A brief lull after the first attack settles, and then-] Prism Sword!

[The only person responsible for Mithos's mental state right now was Mithos. In any case, fighting with them wasn't going to get her anywhere. Those last two attacks were fairly powerful. Raine blocks the worst of the blow with force field, but maybe right now would be a good time to pretend that they had succeeded. She doesn't get back up after the last attack, waiting.]

[He should feel a breath of relief. A sense of accomplishment when she doesn't get up again. He feels nothing of the sort, only the ragged remains of maddening confusion.

Nothing has been fixed. There's nothing clean or perfect about it.]

...We're done here. [This is directed at Kaori, and as soon as the words fall from his mouth he curtly turns to leave. Go anywhere but here. If not for her, he would simply take off to the skies as quickly as possible, as high up as possible, to get as far away as possible.]

[But she was still alive. Feigning, it felt like... Yet if Mithos said they were done, she had no right to argue against him and his judgment as long as Raine didn't try to get up and attack him. She turns to follow Mithos, attempting to ignore that they were leaving their backs open to someone alive.]

Mithos...?

[Raine's not intending on moving until the pair are out of the vicinity, as she stays down, quietly listening to them talk but not risking lifting up her head. Unless some new danger forces her to move, for now she just wants to conserve what energy she has left until the coast is clear enough.

That and there was the situation itself still left to consider, but she wouldn't get anywhere pondering that here when there were so many other priorities. She'd probably have to send some word out for help, but she didn't want to take away even more from the forces than she had already by getting into this. What a mess.]

[He's moving pretty quickly, but not so fast that she can't keep up. When she speaks his name, he slows down. A calm pace, like he's in control of everything even if that's a complete lie right now.]

It's nothing.

[Only a few minutes after Mithos leaves the area, a scout is coming through it. She may well be following the signs of the Third Party. It's perfectly like Sheena to get herself in a little trouble now and again.

...But not when Raine's on the ground like that. Checking for enemies first, she drops, being sure to make enough noise to alert Raine of a presence if she's conscious enough to register it.]

[At the sound of someone landing nearby--and once Mithos is hopefully too far away to notice, Raine will open one eye to gauge the situation, and then, seeing who it is, starts to sit up.]

Are you okay? Or are you just playing dead for a while?

[wise_maiden]

Keep an eye out. There were enemies here recently. [The bodies of the Shift hunter and two third party soldiers are still nearby, as Raine winces, looking in her bag for a gel.]

I don't hear anything right now, but yeah, I'll be careful. ...Is that what happened to you?

[if it looks like she needs assistance sitting up and digging in her bag at the same time, Sheena will kneel and support her]

Things got hectic, and my group got separated. [Again. She's a little shaky as she sits up, so the support is appreciated. Good, there's still a Miracle gel tucked in there.] 'Playing dead' until the trouble was over seemed to be the best thing to do in this case. What brings you this way?

Just weird luck, I guess. [she tilts her head a little at the miracle gel] How bad're you hurt then?

[wise_maiden]

I used a lot of energy, so I'm more tired than anything else. [She was able to heal herself enough to not have any open wounds, and blood wasn't really visible on dark clothing.] It's probably time to head back to the camp.

[corrinesbell]

Yeah. You look like you could use a break.

[She may be good enough to spot blood on dark clothing too. But Raine seems to have it handled, so she's not bringing it up]

Need help getting up?

[wise_maiden]

... Yes, please. [The gel does need some time to kick in, and even then it's not really a cureall in the best sense.]

[corrinesbell]

[Then she won't even bother asking how much help. She'll just put one arm around Raine's back, and one of Raine's arms over her shoulders. They're the same height, so it won't be too difficult to stand that way.]

Let's not run into eight hundred traps this time, okay?

Indeed. I think we've had enough of that for a long while.

Can you walk yourself? [It's a formality question. Sheena has no intentions of letting go.]

[That is a good question. Hm.] I should be able to, in a moment. [This is just the first time she's had a moment to regroup since healing Masaomi up before this attack.]
