What: Dragon Slaying
When: June 30th
Where: The Mountains, up in Jack's Cave
Summary: Saber (and co?) goes to confront Jack about his greed and gold, hoping to pull him out of his curse.
Rating: PG-13 to R for language and violence

[Lately Jack had been having dark dreams and with no one to share them with. He had grown more distant, spending more time in his cave, and it took longer and longer for him to roll about in his gold to push away those feeling. The images he had seen were vague... but from what he could see was a king who had won many wars, a demon from the gates of hell to claim the soul he had bargained away, a warrior shrouded in shadows, and a soldier with a monstrous form that seemed almost familiar to him. His dreams had all come to one conclusion.

They were coming for him. He had no idea why, but he could only conclude they would be the end of him.

... well let them come. See how they deal with Jack Horner.]

((ooc: Gonna have two threads here. One for a meetup before running into Jack, if you guys want, then another one for them to actually arrive and confront him. Let me know if there's anything that is fishy or needs clarified.))

This isn't negotiable. You can't live in a cave like this for the rest of your time here. You have to become human again.

[Her expression is determined and yet cold at the same time. She won't let Jack persuade her into leaving.]

I can do whatever I damn well please, Saber!

[He takes a few more steps out of the cave, so he can tower of them with his size. He snorts out smoke at the both of them.]

This is your last chance!

[The size is definitely daunting, but she's not afraid. She's faced dragons before and she can do so again.]

This is your last chance as well.

[She puts her armored hands in front of her and a small blue glow comes from between her hands. The invisible sword has been drawn.]

Surrender the gold.

[And then... he laughs. Help him, was it? With a sword? He wasn't stupid!]

So that's it? You're going to kill me and steal my gold? Well fuck you!

[And with that, he suddenly sends hot flames directly in Saber's direction, hot enough that they could even incinerate Karai just by proximity.]

[Yeah, no. Karai leaps clear, trusting that Saber can look after herself. She doesn't hesitate as she lands, shifting on her feet to face him, one sword flashing out.

...one plain everyday katana versus a dragon. Well, it's a challenge, at any rate.]

[Saber leaps as well, dodging the flames swiftly. She's in much better shape than she was a week ago and it was clear he was going to attack, once she said 'gold' and 'surrender' in the same sentence.

She braces her sword tightly and waits for an opening. Fighting in a cave was not going to work to their advantage, if Jack could just breathe fire constantly.]

[Drawn to the fire and the sound of fighting, an enormous red demon barrels down the cliff face toward the mouth of the cavern. He stumbles into the cave entrance, the tails of his coat flapping cape-like behind him. His right hand is poised for battle, the other on the holster of his gun.

Then, he sees the dragon.] Crap!

[It's his gun versus your fire breath, Jack. Let's see who wins out because he's aiming that huge mortar canon of a thing right at your head.]

[Having not expected that, he doesn't even have time to turn towards the demon, suddenly having a blast alongside the side of his head. Damn that hurt like hell. His scaly skin protects him from too much damage, but it temporarily blinds him in one eye and it might have damaged his jaw. But mostly, it managed to piss him off.]

You bitch! You brought one of those devils, didn't you!? Well I still got years on my contract!

[He ignores Saber, for the moment, and focuses his flames on Hellboy instead. But rather than stay motionless, he moves swiftly towards the demon, intending to chomp on him a bit too. Given he can eat a cow whole in one bite, that's one huge set of teeth that incoming.]

[Devils. Contract. Information Karai files away for another time, as well as the appearance of this... whoever he is. All she knows is Hellboy seems to be on their side-- for now-- and has created an opening.

As Jack swings his head towards the red demon, Karai launches herself forward on the opposite side, aiming an attack at the base of Jack's long neck. She expects it won't be that easy, but that's what contingency plans are for. In the meantime, she'll sure try for it.]

[Saber gasps when Hellboy seemingly comes out of nowhere. If he was "invited" then she certainly had no knowledge of it. However the focus is off them now and this is a good chance to get Jack, at the very least, away from the gold.

Saber too makes a quick lunge at Jack, aiming for his center. Unlike what he might think, she has no intention of slaughtering him. Only weakening him enough to make him retreat from the gold. With that hope in mind, she takes her sword and launches a swift attack toward the middle of his body.]

[Hellboy lifts his right hand to protect his face from the dragon's scalding heat. It singes his jacket to almost nothing, sizzling the hair on his face. It hurts like hell, but he's had worse. The pain barely registers as he unloads his gun's clip into the dragon's open maw.

Then the girls attack. It was something he wasn't expecting, and he has to watch himself to keep them out of the crossfire. But he only has a split second to think before those teeth are just inches away from making him a snack.]

You wanna eat me? Chew on this!

[And he thrusts his stone hand at the dragon's jagged teeth with an earth-shaking amount of force.]

[Okay, shit, lots of tiny targets coming at him at once. All trying to poke and stab and punch at him. Karai's blade scratches him, but only does minor damage to his scales. At the time Saber's blade would connect, Hellboy's blow causes him to stumble back, keeping the blow just short of connecting.

Okay, that shit is ENOUGH. At a speed unexpected for his size, he quickly whirls around, using his tails as a battering ram to sweep away whichever one of them he can hit. Any of them that take to the sky will have a ball of fire aimed in their direction.]

[She'd figured that might be the case. ...and then whatever further plan Karai had goes out the window when Jack whirls and there's a tail sweeping toward them at a rate of knots. Fast.

She jumps clear-- and then jumps again, landing in a crouch on the tail, and takes off for a higher vantage point before a second tail sweep can cost her balance. Running up your back, Jack.]

[Saber forsees the tail swipe, remembering how he used it to take her down the last time, and quickly dodges it. She tightens her grip around the sword and runs toward his left side. Once she's close enough she pushes off the ground and throws an upper sword cut toward his dragon wing.]

[And here Hellboy is about as nimble as a semi truck. When he sees the tail incoming he braces for impact, digging his hooves into the dirt. But with the dragon's size and strength, he can't absorb the blow which sends him vaulting into the air, a ball of fire chasing after him.

The ground comes up to meet him with force enough to rattle his teeth in his head. Then, he registers he's sliding down the mountain side in a cascade of jagged pebbles. He digs his right hand into the dirt, trying to slow his descent.]

[For the moment Karai is forgotten and he assumes Hellboy is taken care of. That just leaves the pesky knight. Part of his wings is torn, but in size the wing may as well be the mast of a ship, for it's just as large and many times stronger. Consequently Jack uses it to attempt to bat Saber to the ground, so he can more easily grab hold of her there.]

[Forgetting her is good. Jack's moving around makes this difficult going, but Karai will just...take this opportunity to scale the dragon, all the way to the back of his head.]

[The bat is successful, as Saber has no time to retract her action or change the course of her movement. She is thrown to the ground by his claw and grits back a yell. However, she won't surrender just because of that. Saber still has her sword, gripped in her right hand, and using the close proximity she attempts to slice at the claw. At worse, she could miss because of the awkward positioning. At best, she can slash him a little.]

[All too aware of Karai, Jack decides that the best thing to do is get rid of these pests... away from his gold. So in spite of Saber's sword, Jack will try to grab hold of her in both 'hands', while his two massive wings begin to move as he prepares to fly off with both warriors in tow.]

[Well that's not good. Karai lashes out with her free hand, wrapping an arm around one of Horner's...horns... to brace herself, sheathing her sword for now and glancing down to check on the welfare of Saber. She could take out an eye from here, probably-- but not while they're in the air. For now, Karai just does her best to make sure she can't be shaken loose if the dragon decides to roll midair.]

[She feels the claws grasping her small frame, as she feels herself being lifted off the ground. Crap. If she were to be dropped from this height she doubts she would do well. She does not give up though. She continues to swing her sword rapidly as much as she can, hoping to strike him enough to make him drop her.]

[Jack is able to avoid those swings as he tries to fly in a zig zag pattern to make her lose the sword. But as he's passing over the farmlands, one manages to get him and he instinctively loosens his grip, releasing her. Once he realizes what he's done, the more concerned aspect of his head makes him come to a landing, though not fast enough to catch her.]

[Take out an eye or help Saber. ...choices.

Rope hooked around the horn, Karai drops from her perch just as Jack lets go, twisting her weight as she plummets to swing round and try making a grab for Saber. It's worth a shot.]

[Saber keeps swinging until she finally realizes what's going on. That Jack has let go and she's falling and--

No, wait. Karai. As Karai reaches for her, Saber quickly grabs on to the woman with a tight hand and avoids plummeting to bottom of the farmlands.]

[He notices that and in trying to shake them off, he starts to lose altitude, heading in the direction of a large barn that they were so very likely going to run into.]

Get the hell off me, you bitches!
