Where: The main square of the village
Summary: It's Tanabtata, and Haruhi likes Tanabata. As a result, there will be fireworks and a little food and wishes to be made.
Rating: PGish I assume unless people do things in public??


[So it's Tanabata - Haruhi loves this holiday (which other people like too, of course) and as a result tends to force a celebration for it on everyone else. That's why the Brigade has set up lanterns, a few food stalls, a small tea stall and other such stuff outside of the Brigade HQ tonight. She also has kimonos - she'll dress up the Brigade personally and she is dressed in a flashy one as well (and she'll dress up other people who look listless!) as well as bamboo shoots put there to write wishes on.

...There will be fireworks later tonight, but it's a small get together. Just some dishes made by her and some other members of the Brigade and tea. Lanterns to set a mood, and linger. Feel free to get involved however you well please

There's a head poking out from under the stand. WITH THIS FACE]

Ginia takes a quick step back and almost aims a kick at the young man's head before restraining herself. There's a person peeking out from under the stand.

All right then.

Giving him another wary look, she steps back to the counter and gestures at a chocolate taiyaki.]

[Man it wouldn't even be the first time he'd be kicked in the head. Teenage boys, what are you gunna do. Either way, he slides out from under the stand, coming up to his full height, taking one of the chocolates for her and hands it off]

Ah, I should add though! I am merely an admirer, not the stand owner.

[...Which is not creepy at all. Clearly. He says this blandly]

[Ginia smiles awkwardly as he hands the taiyaki over to her, though she realizes boys will be boys. She takes the taiyaki with grace and gives a tiny bow of thanks as she steps out of the line, quickly reaching for her notepad and pen to write out a message for him.]

Thank you, though there's really not much to admire here.

[...Oh. Well. He slides out around the stand to get out of there and thus leaving the line to themselves but as he does-]

Are you mute, by chance?

[She looks back at him and gives a small nod in affirmation.]

[He nods himself] Ah... like Nill-chan then... You write very well, it's pretty for how quick you were.

[Man, he was going to compliment her on voice, this threw him a bit]

[Ginia turns around and picks up her notepad again.]

You know someone else that's mute? And that's nice of you to say, thank you. The result of years of practice.

[He nods] That's right... A charming girl named Nill, actually.

[He pauses here to consider - should he try to spell that? Nah.]

Out of curiosity, is she someone you know back home or is she someone here?

[There's a small pause, then a wry smile.]

You really shouldn't have been hiding under the stand. I could have hurt you.

Mm, someone here.

[He doesn't comment on the second part, he just gives a shrug like "EH, what'll you do?" and then gives a thumbs up]

Maybe I'll have to meet her sometime.

[Boys will be boys. Ginia gives a small smile at that and shakes her head.]

Just so you know, I'm much too old for you. But I'm Ginia.

Maaaaasaomi Kida! And please, please, Ginia-san, you're, whaaaat, maybe twenty-two?

[She's clearly a little older than that, but he's trying to lay on the flattery.

Not that twenty-two isn't too old for him either]

[Oh, that question. He sighs and then steers a bit so he might sit on a bench for that one.]

I think it's actually been about a year now. Or it will be soon, anyway...

[Ginia follows, sitting next to him and setting her taiyaki aside for a moment.]

I see. That's quite a long time to be away from home.

Ah, it is. [Normally, he might amend he's with his best friend but... he's not, not anymore really]

Have you been enjoying it here? All things considered?

[He pauses only a moment to consider that.

He decides to brush it off, looking away a little he laughs and shrugs theatrically as one can while sitting down]

For a devilish man like me, wherever there are attractive ladies wouldn't you say I'm at home?

[Ginia watches him as he thinks, giving a tiny sigh. It honestly worries her seeing so many teenagers torn away from their homes and thrown here.]

I suppose home is where your heart is.

[He has to glance back to see that] Ah, that's true, Ginia-san.

But with that said, don't let your heart roam too often and too far.
