Summary: It's Tanabtata, and Haruhi likes Tanabata. As a result, there will be fireworks and a little food and wishes to be made.

[So it's Tanabata - Haruhi loves this holiday (which other people like too, of course) and as a result tends to force a celebration for it on everyone else. That's why the Brigade has set up lanterns, a few food stalls, a small tea stall and other such stuff outside of the Brigade HQ tonight. She also has kimonos - she'll dress up the Brigade personally and she is dressed in a flashy one as well (and she'll dress up other people who look listless!) as well as bamboo shoots put there to write wishes on.

...There will be fireworks later tonight, but it's a small get together. Just some dishes made by her and some other members of the Brigade and tea. Lanterns to set a mood, and linger. Feel free to get involved however you well please

[A faint smile crosses his face.] I guess... I guess that'd be nice. Although...

[He sighs, not meeting her gaze.] What if you knew someone who was really important to you? And because they take you from different times, you already know what happens to him - and when you go back, you'll never see him again? What if here is the only place where he's still alive?

[She shakes her head.]

I don't think I'd wish this place on anyone, even if it meant that I might be able to see them again. Sure, it'd be nice if I could see them again here, but...I'd know that there's more things waiting back home. And that those things can be just as important.

But that's just what I think.

I think he likes it here sometimes too... and I think he's the most important person to me. [A headshake. It's no use dwelling on it - Link simply just doesn't want to think about what will happen if he or Sheik ever get sent back.] I guess I only can make wishes, huh?

[There's a pause as she takes her time to choose her words.]

Yeah... [He shakes himself off - this is too depressing for a happy festival.] Have you ever had dango? I tried some before, and it was really nice.

[She doesn't skip a beat even as the conversation topic changes, though she sure makes a note of it.]

I have it once in a while. They told me not to eat too much of it— y'know, so I don't have to diet that often.

Oh... why do you have to diet? Anyway, it's a special occasion, so I bet you can have some now.

To watch my figure, of course! They publish those things, you know.

[Pause. He's just going to... look at her, head tilted.] But I know what you look like, and they didn't publish that.

[Dango stand reached! Link will pick out several different flavours for himself.] Which ones do you want?

The red bean one! And the sesame one looks good too... [So she'll just take both. Wow, that's gonna be a lot-- for her.]

But yeah, you know how I look like since you've seen me before! But they market my stuff all over...I don't even know half of the people who send letters to me are.

[Too much? Link is on his second stick just since they've been standing there.]

Huh - I guess it's sort of like getting messages from strange people on the journals, huh? [He's... kind of got used to it.]

Uh huh! Everyone knows Princess Zelda. Are you a princess, Rise? [Wow, he's certainly meeting a lot.]

[Link tilts his head thoughtfully for a moment, drawing up comparisons between Rise and both Zelda and Ruto. Finally, he decides.] You could be! You're nice and you're kind to people and you're pretty.

[...Moving on before Rise notices his cheeks are pink.] Are you famous?

[analyzing]

[D'aaaw. But man, if only people could be princesses if they were nice and kind and pretty.]

Kinda. But not in the princess way.

Oh... okay. What do you do? [He's wracking his brain trying to think of ways people could be well-known without being royalty, and isn't coming up with many ideas.]
