Where: Outside the Welcome Centre
Summary: Finally, the time has come to get Luceti's memory garden on the road.

Early on Sunday morning, Link can be found outside the Welcome Centre - gathering seedlings and seed packets, setting aside a willow sapling, laying out gardening tools. When it's still fairly early by the standards of most people, especially for a Sunday morning in summer, the following message will go out over the journals:

"Hi, everyone! D'you remember the garden I talked about earlier? Well, all the beds have been dug and I've got lots of plants, so come over to the Welcome Centre today and plant something for your friends that have gone home!"

If anyone heads on over, they'll find Link sitting back and relaxing, keeping an eye on the piles of gardening implements, small pots of seedlings and packets of seeds and a collection of bulbs, and a large sheet of paper and bundle of pencils. Across the top of the paper, the words, 'Leave a message for friends!' is written, and Link has already written the first message - 'Hi Vivi, I hope you like the gardens! Love Link'.

There will be snack runs over the course of the day. And if he can convince certain people, live music. Remembering friends, being outside on a sunny day (refreshing after yesterday's storm!), nice food, and music - what could be better?

It wouldn't matter how Alice had said it: her response would be the same.

"Oh, yes. Every flower is beautiful its own way."

Is this like the special snowflake thing in relation to people?

She gives Alice a confused look. "Special snowflake? They are very pretty, aren't they?"

this this whole thing about how no two snowflakes are ever alike, so people are like snowflakes since everyone's different and special. It's one of those things that's supposed to make everyone feel good and special and [...] I guess it works.

"Yes, because people are just like snowflakes. Oh, and flowers, too. Everyone is different."

It's clear she's speaking with complete conviction.

Alice is a little impressed at how Grune means everything she says. It's very nice. Inspiring even.

And I guess to make a beautiful garden you need all sorts of different flowers?

"Oh, yes." She giggles a little. "A garden with only one kind of flower would look a little silly, wouldn't it?"

Alice laughs quietly, a raspy little breathy sound. Guess I should get those tulips then.

Grune smiles a little more when she hears Alice laugh. "I can't wait to see them in the spring."

...Now where are they?

Alice sets the watering can down and heads back to collect a few tulip bulbs, handling them with great care as she brings them back.

Grune's confusion clears when Alice returns with the bulbs and she bends down to peer at them. "I wonder what colours they'll be."

Alice sets them down, looking at all the relatively identical tannish bulbs.

Is there a way to tell? Besides waiting for them to bloom.

She looks them over for a little while longer. "I think we need to wait and see. We'll find out in the spring."

Alice nods in acceptance and crouches down to begin digging new holes. It's kinda an exciting thought, not knowing what you'll get. It'd certainly drive Ginia insane, but Alice quite likes the idea.

Grune watches her idly, halfway to daydreaming. She's so happy Alice is enjoying gardening so much. They'll have to do some more together someday.

Gardening more with Grune is something Alice wouldn't mind doing more. She digs a hole for each bulb, then gently sets it down, covers it up with dirt, and waters it. There. Six new tulips for the spring.

When she's finished, Grune reaches out and gently pats the soil covering the nearest bulb. "Good night. Have sweet dreams."

Alice sits back and admires her work, wondering if she'll even be around to see them in the spring time. Or even if she's around, if they'll even bloom.

Do you think they'll bloom? What happens if they don't?

"Don't worry." Grune sits up and gives Alice a smile. "They'll be here waiting for us in the spring after they take their little nap."

Grune's surety is something Alice accepts with her own smile. All right, they'll wait until spring to see them bloom.

I'm sure this will be a nice garden come spring.

"Yes, I can't wait to see all the flowers bloom. It will be so exciting."

She loves spring. Every day brings a new surprise.

Is spring your favorite season?

[lostinmyway]

"Oh, yes." But then she pauses. "But summer is nice and warm and sunny, and there are such pretty colours in the fall, and the snow in winter is so beautiful and fun to play in…."

Hmm, this is a puzzle.

So you basically love all the seasons?

[lostinmyway]

As though this is only just occurring to her, Grune says, "Hmm. I suppose I do. They're all so nice, aren't they?
