Summary: What's a summer without going on a trip to the beach at least once?
Rating: PG13+? Depends, really.

[When one enters the beach, if they're the type of people to make beelines for food as soon as they step into a party, they'll notice that there are a few tables set up with a bunch of snacks laid about, along with a giant cooler residing at the end of the table. There's a barbecue going on too, though it'll be self-serve if you're hungry.]

[Otherwise, there's a bunch of sporting equipment laying about. A Frisbee, a few volleyball nets... Whatever you'd like to be there! Don't forget, there's always swimming in the ocean, too.]

[Katara has actually been spending most of her free time at the beach - it helps that the teleporter is right by her house. In her almost a year and a half at Luceti, she's found that some of the more local swimwear is a lot easier than dealing with her bindings, although she's still not comfortable running around in a plain swimsuit bottom. Today's choice is a happy compromise.

She still doesn't bother with a surfboard, though. Controlling solid water underneath you - the only way to go. She loves this.

And the fact that there are more people out here today? All the better! In those rare moments where she is not actually in the water, Katara will be mingling or sitting by her large towel and drinking lemonade. She's brought plenty, so if you're thirsty...]

[What on earth is this girl doing? There's no surfboard so... Nagisa's just staring at Katara, confused as to how she is able to do such a thing. Hope you don't mind her watching intently. She's kind of amazed. And confused. But amazed.]

[Nope! She doesn't mind. In fact, she probably doesn't even notice, tearing under the curve of a wave and zig-zagging across the flat surface afterwards as she is.]

[Woah, that was cool! So cool in fact that you may hear Nagisa clapping and cheering a bit over by the shore. She's never actually seen anyone surf before, so it was exciting to watch, even if there is no surfboard involved.]

[Huh, what's that sound?

Katara glances towards the beach and notices - then blushes at little at the applause, though she grins.

...huh, she doesn't recognize the girl. Better work her way back to shore, then.]

[Oh hello, she's walking over here! So Nagisa smiles.]

You're welcome! That was really cool! How were you doing that though? If you don't mind me asking.

Oh - I was bending. Like this. [And then, for convenience sake and because she's not a fan of sand sticking everywhere, Katara will remove the water from her person with a sweeping arm movement and dump it back in the ocean.

...she does leave her hair wet, though. Because that feels good.]

[She might choose to mingle with one (finally) relaxed-looking Mercury Adept, who keeps getting up to wade up to her knees in the water before sitting back down on her blanket. For someone who didn't grow up with an accessible ocean for swimming in, she sure does love it anyway.]

[Katara smiles as she starts jogging up the shoreline, still wet from her time in the waves.]

[She is standing now with the water just washing over her feet. But she looks up and waves, only speaking when the other girl draws close enough.]

Hello, Katara. It is a beautiful day.

Sure is! [She comes to stand beside Mia, wringing her hair out as she does so.]

Have you been swimming yet?

No, not yet. I wasn't feeling well the day before yesterday, and...I didn't want to tire myself.

[Surfing on solid water? Impressive! Ceodore's never seen anything like it and finds himself standing at the edge of the water just watching in awe.]

Gliding under the curve of a wave and busting through the top of it, she laughs as she actually gets some air... with the aid of some bending.]

[So eventually, Katara will surf inwards towards the shore and dissipate her board to swim in and then walk towards the shore. About ankle-deep, she pauses to bend the water off herself and dump it in the ocean, leaving her hair wet because it feels nice on a hot day like this.]

Oh - I was just having some fun with waterbending.

[She throws the mostly-wrung-out-and-now-in-a-loose-rope hair over her shoulder and walks up to shore. She smiles a little, still a bit exultant with a good session on the waves.]
